Another great campground review! Hubby and I tent-camped at Jedediah Smith back in the mid-90’s, and we’ve enjoyed reminiscing about that trip through your videos from the redwoods. Safe travels!
That stinks about the price increase, but it is such a nice park despite not having any hookups. It sorta gives that "in the forest" feel without actually being in the forest. Enjoy!
Thanks for your reviews. 3 maybe 4 years before I can break away and go full time, it will pass quickly, but the videos really spark the call of the wild. Take Care
Great alternative to Jedediah Smith! One of the reasons we went small with our trailer, was to have options such as this place - will add to our list! Loved the trashcans and the limit on loud generators. Panther Flat to the East of Jedediah Smith is also beautiful and right on the river. Thanks!
Yup, Northern California has lots of small sites in the mountains and on the coast. With large RV's your going to be vary limited in State and Federal park's. But we live in and love the redwood forest, So any effort you make is always truly worth it, is our opinion. Yes, amazing the redwood forest is with mountains, rivers, beaches and lots of wildlife. it's truly beautiful. Awesome video information, thank you for sharing!
I just started watching you guys, and love what I am seeing so far. We started out on RUclips a year ago and about to sell everything and go on the road full time.
Another great review of a beautiful place. Years ago, we tent camped at Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. It was amazing. Think it was a little south of Crescent City.
Yes, that State Park is a little south of Crescent City, but there's not signal there. We really did want to camp in a Redwoods State Park but with no signal, no sunshine, and the higher price we just couldn't do it this time haha

Oh man! Wish I would have known about this one when we were in that area! 😀 Great price! Thanks for sharing. Next time we are there we will have to check that spot out. We have a 28ft travel trailer.
28ft should fit in plenty of the sites there, site B is really nice as a pull through and if we had seen site 14 before we parked we would have just gone with the full hook ups haha
We stayed at a KOA in Crescent City in 1984 first and last time in a private campground, it was ok (not our favorite way of camping) I think that’s Big Foot country 😂 I remember Big Foot statues around that area. Also there used to be a redwood cabin you could visit, the bark was alive so the cabin was growing
It is for sure Big Foot country there haha, big foot stuff EVERYWHERE! I have not even heard of the growing redwood cabin, we'll have to check it out the next time we're in the area!
Hi Jenny!! I just love your channel. My husband and I just started camping and traveling in our converted suv camper. We live in a city called Littlerock, Ca. I was wondering if you've done any free camping in the Angeles National Forest? It's pretty much in our backyard, but we have yet to really doing any camping there. Thanks so much!
Wonderful review...you hit all the important information. Was wondering if you need any type of reservation or is it whatever is available when you come? Would be interested in how you guys make or don't make reservations.....heard it is becoming a big issue these days even before or after the summer stampede. Keep up the great work!
Good question, this is a first come first serve campground, but I've been informed by the parks department that they are looking to make the stay restriction longer and also allow reservations but I'm not sure when either of these will be implemented.
I feel like we need to follow you guys around the country. You seem to have a real knack for finding the cheapest and free spots without sacrificing natural scenery. Don't know how you do it .... yes, I know all the apps and sites people use but I still don't have the kind of luck (?) you guys seem to have :-)
We basically rely heavily on the apps and websites to help us find our next spot, sometimes we wish we had gone somewhere else that maybe was more private or more secluded, but for the most part we've like all the places we've been haha, it takes a ton of practice haha
Unfortunately I'm one of those plan ahead people (trying to break the habit, honest). Depending on season and popularity of destinations I feel like I have to plan ahead (places like Banff & Jasper, Glacier & Yellowstone NPs) which forces you to keep a schedule without the freedom to venture far off the planned route.
She said: "We'll come back here as long as we STILL have an RV 24-foot or less". I heard: "If he doesn't get me a bigger rig, I'm gonna seek out Bob over at CheapRVLiving". Just sayin.....
We've actually been to Vermont and New Hampshire already but would love to go back. It's much harder to find free and cheap camping out that way though haha
It's not easy to just use solar, either because of cloudy weather or because you want to be in shade when it is hot. It's annoying that they don't make really quiet generators. I have a $250 inverter generator, only 700 watts, but it is fine for battery charging. The gripe is that it is fairly quiet, but not really quiet. I'm not sure if they could make a really quiet inverter generator. I've seen people on YT who had little sound insulated 'houses' to put over the generator. You have to keep them cool and provide fresh air for the motors. Maybe the people who run the parks could have little generator houses at each site. ruclips.net/video/ZFl_sUUHL9g/видео.html If you Google something like 'generator sound enclosure' you get some ideas. Great information. A five day limit suggests some heavy usage. People want to boondock all the time but then they get into these very popular areas and it's hard to do. The next 2 months are the 'crush' time anyway.
We've never heard of a generator house, that's very interesting. If we used it often we may consider it, but as it stands we barely use it haha. We are worried about the availability of dry camping in some areas we're headed too, hopefully it's not too packed!
Short, sweet, and to the point, thank you.
Great review,Jenni

We thought about camping at Jedediah Smith but the price is over double so we decided not to, maybe next time!
Nice review
We are staying here right now. They raised the price to $20 a night. Beautiful area . Thanks for the campsite review.
That stinks about the price increase, but it is such a nice park despite not having any hookups. It sorta gives that "in the forest" feel without actually being in the forest. Enjoy!
Great job on the review looks like a beautiful place
Just started watching, on my bucket list, i want to see the redwood trees now back to the vid...
We'll be heading through that area in about 3 weeks or so. I think we'll be staying there. Awesome review!
That's great! We hope you like it!
Thank you. Your presentation was thorough and informative. Hopefully the Campground will extend its length of stay policy. Very beautiful there
Great information. Never knew this place existed.
Nice review .
Thanks for sharing.

Panther Flat sounds beautiful beings that it's on the river, I really love listening to the music of the river!! 😉😊😄🎼🎶🎵🎻🎸🎹🎷🎺

Very informative video!!👍
Thank you for the review.
Great job! I love it. What a beautiful park. It’s a must see.
You guys should really check it out if you get out this way!
Great review, Jenni. Sounds like the coast is the place to be. Hotter than you-know-what here in Michigan.
Oh man, yeah! We heard it was HOT there! So glad we're not there right now hahaha
We appreciate your hard work providing the details on cool places to stay. We just mentioned you on our latest video. See you down the road.
I just started watching you guys, and love what I am seeing so far. We started out on RUclips a year ago and about to sell everything and go on the road full time.
Great review, thanks.
Like always, great job.. 😁👍
Great review. I just subbed. Headed that way and may stay at this park. Thanks!

Great review, another area for my bucket list and glad we still have our 23' Lance. ;-)
Your 23' should fit just fine! Let us know how you like it when you go!

I subscribed a year ago in June, June of 2018 to be exact, so I am quite happy happy happy!!!!! 😆😊😄😆😊😄😉
Love your videos? Can we request to see the restroom situations ?
Very well done!
Nice job.
I live in crescent city. Unfortunately people get stuff stolen there all the time. Go to Jed smith campground it’s the safest and cleanest around.

Nice review as usual. Which inverter generator did you get?
We bought the Honda 2200, you can buy the same one here: amzn.to/2MK5wEw

Freecampsites.net, Campendium, Allstays .... we use them all but seldom find an option close to us or along our route :-(
Those are the three we use too. Sometimes we have to stay upwards of 50 miles away from where we want to visit in order to find a site we really like
Unfortunately I'm one of those plan ahead people (trying to break the habit, honest). Thanks for including the dog policies. If my pups aren't welcome neither am I!
We agree!
That's exactly how I feel too!!! 😄😊😆 ❤🐕🐶

Do you plan on heading north to Canada?
We actually don't have passports yet, we're thinking we'll do Canada in a couple years (maybe 2021???)
Do you have any plans for the east coast?
We've actually been to Vermont and New Hampshire already but would love to go back. It's much harder to find free and cheap camping out that way though haha

I live 6 miles from this campground. North of the park.
I probably missed it, Anyone know the check-out time?
hi be safe
You can stay there more than 5 nights. You can't stay 14 days. It's not per year either.
Campsites are $20 per night.
:)
