      Long time ago this haha, but it would either be USB to daw or output into a sound card, a basic 2in2out, but the sound itself wouldn't change

    For a live situation, however, I'd be concerned about a possible coloring of PCM tones. What's your experience on that? Do synths sound good through IR? I'm also a singer, so I don't want to be tap dancing all around turning on and off the IR pedal.

    • @JaredGunstonTV

      Haha I understand. It's more for drives, you are 100 percent correct. Looking forward to using this for pcm and testing the new Sy1000 in combo.

      I do! I run it through a Headrush FRFR speaker. My point is that, in a live scenario, when switching from guitar sounds to synth sounds (which I also use, sometimes even mixed), the IR would have to stay on... so I'd like to hear any experience doing just that: synth sounds through an IR. I know the GR-55 has some sound compensation for that (i'm guessing you could just set the output to "stack" or whatever kind of cab sim you're using and be fine), i just want to know if that actually does the trick of having awesome modern-sounding guitars and decent synth sounds live, since there's no way to route the synth & guitar outputs separately.

    • @DynamoRockMX
      @DynamoRockMX 4 года назад +1

      Just to let you know: in the end I pulled the trigger on a Mooer Radar IR pedal and... WHOAA! What a difference! It definitely brought my tones to 2020 quality, and PCM synths still sound great (I set the output to "Stack Return", so I think the GR-55 compensates accordingly). This video is the best advice I could have received. THANKS!

    Hi,Does it exist in gr-55 adding Harmonies in a Specific Key ( Harmonist ) as is the case with the Roland GR-33.I would ask you to give me an answer ... it is very important to me ...Thanks...

    • @JaredGunstonTV
      @JaredGunstonTV  4 года назад

      Hi, you can set the key per patch and you can choose what harmony u want, 3rd, 5th etc. Best to download the manual and check through it to see it does what u require.

    • @mayoguitar
      @mayoguitar 4 года назад

      There is almost nothing about it in the user manual,but in any case, thank you for the respond ...

    • @stevegiannell3401
      @stevegiannell3401 3 года назад

      GR-55 has global or string-specific pitch shifting, but no intelligent harmonizer. I program the CTL pedal in momentary mode to alternate between two relative harmonies (e.g., 4th or 5th). I have also tried programming the expression pedal with three zones (heel-middle-toe) to alternate between three relative harmonies. Works okay for slower passages, but hard to keep up with your foot on faster runs. You could also spend a few bucks and put a pedal like a Boss PS-6 on the output of the GR-55. Not sure what that might sound like when effect is applied to existing reverb, delay, chorus, etc. Worth experimenting, though - that's half the fun!

    somebody really likes loads of noise gate, how i love to hear it switching off and on every time you speak, very noticeable after the squeaky guitar rumpty rumpty tum tum bits.
    then hiss hiss voice chatter hiss.
    maybe change the gate(off) setting output for your voice, dodging the master fx.
    putting your chat through the gate has made it very noticeable the hiss.
    thou the voice is quite clear, though clipping, to much gain.
    unlike (the nasally) awful tones coming through from the guitar track recorded in an old cardboard box with a child's karaoke mic by the sound of it, maybe rerecord the part... as nasty string squeaking can be heard it is burning my ears.
    the before and after sounded the same or
    does it boils and all down to if you haven't got it in your fingers to begin with then no amount of sound processing will put it there. aye!? yeah it's all a bit of fun.
    live and learn a bit each and everyday, you know what your doing is my guess.
    that Canadian fella the 40yr old longhaired teen dude has a fine channel about metal recording tricks and what not, well worth a peek though he is very loud with the truth

      hahahaha!! this must take the cake of one of the most descriptive comments ever, haha! Yeah i know man, I always struggled to get a good sounding mic sound for a long time, I've tried a condenser on my desk, a condenser on my iphone, and recently started using a lav. My videos are never really meant to be about me... just about cool things i try which i like to share. I always wanted to hear an old 2011 pedal drive through modern IRs so i did it and filmed it and thought it was of value to some. (at that time i was using it live so it was relevant to me), You have a good day now - ya old bladder horn! ;)

      seen it right away that you put a lot of effort into your tip projects.
      glad you have a good sense of humour
      as it was that and nothing more
      just a bit of humour and and i swear i
      wrote at the mid point of the video.
      maybe you could do an in depth
      on the gr-55 or something on double tracking in mono.
      yes the vocal mic thing it's a bitch to get just right . was tempted to invest in some fancy mic myself a while back
      but never did.
      I continue to fail at that, can't seem to get
      that perfect central image.
      where the lyric is heard in the soup of the
      music and the singing voice is in the spot light. haven't figured the recipe there was always something not right
      so i don't bother no more.
      though it don't stop me learning the guitar and the vocal parts to tunes and such
      or knocking up stupid lyrics for my loop
      endeavours tunes. that's the fun of it all
      So i in return, return the compliment to you
      May you live long and prosper always
