Hot Dickey do! Only 7 more days until the next video and we will be in Canada. Side note my reclinner rides great and the fuel milage is just out of sight. Although I do at times fall asleep but do wake up when I hear “Are you ready for adventure” Take care my friend! 🤩
Haha. That recliner never needs new tires ?
You are a very personable guy Brock, really makes your channel, congrats on 24 years, we will be 41 years this year, still riding together. 990 and a Cb500x. Thanks again for sharing.
I appreciate that! Hope to cross paths w you some time
Wow! Incredible scenery!!
Oh boy what an episode. Next week is a don't miss. Will the bike cold start? Crossing the border....almost to Banff....These next few weeks are going to be awesome! I'm heading over to watch the Going to the Sun episode now.
Yeahhhh!
The bike will not start if it sits over night. But starts all day long with no issues.
“I need a young priest and an old priest. “
@@MotoMission. Sorry. That's the mystery! Will the bike cold start after this week? The suspense of next week's video.
@@MotoMission. it sounds like you have bad rings which isn’t an uncommon KTM issue with dusty environments and the stock intake. I certainly don’t think it is a fuel problem.
It definitely started as a fuel problem. But there is a simultaneous second problem.
Learning a lot about air intake systems and filters. And valves. :)
America the beautiful!!! God Bless America! Another great video, thanks, and I do enjoy the interactions with others along the way! Ride safe wherever you are these days!
Huge thanks. Working on more video for ya
Great ride and excellent video. I totally agree with you about Glacier National Park and riding a motorcycle on the Road to The Sun - that definitely was a special place. Cheers
Thank you my friend.
Wow, sorry to see that you're still having issues. My issues when I was up in that area in 2013 were similar but far milder, fresh fuel fixed it and there was never any lingering issues. Hope this time it's fixed for good! Ride safe Bro and remember, certain wearable "safety" things and radar detectors are NOT allowed in Kanada!
Yeah. I’m not so happy about the lack of wear or safety items
@@MotoMission. Try and stay away from the bears and moose and you should be ok.... I THINK bear spray might be legal, but make sure first. You could maybe rent a PO box near the US border and store them there, but check legality on that. If not maybe rent a storage shed for a month, if only to use it for a couple days. Kanada was always strict on certain "safety" items and has become full Kommunist under Justin Castreau. They've ALWAYS been a-holes about radar detectors too, they'll confiscated them, and write you a big ticket with big fine. Be safe Bro!
Yuck. Thanks for the intel
Good morning. Noticed how fast you hit the start button after you turn the key on; a good practice is to let the bike cycle before trying to start it. In your situation I would suggest doing that 2 or even three times. Turn key on, you'll hear the pump; wait until it stops (do again) then press the start button. Good luck, bad gas sucks but even with fresh gas I let my bike cycle.
I had a 2020 790R for 4 years and now I ride an 2023 890R. I use only Chevron 94 octane in both bikes and never had any starting issues even in colder weather. I can turn the key, hit the starter and it starts instantly. I have heard about so many starting issues with these bikes. Either I am lucky or doing something right or a bit of both.
I’ve never had cold start problems
It alsways fired right up.
@@MotoMission. understood, but feeding more fuel in with your current situation could be beneficial. No worries, I hope this last shop was able to get your bike right; what a headache! Love your channel man
Another great video, truly enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it. More comin
Scenery looks like a post card.. amazing.. tks man.
It does! Haha. Love this place
Thank you to the RUclips algorithm for suggesting your channel. Man, your content is very wonderful. I hope you guys continue.❤
I called RUclips and told them to send my videos to you. They listened. :)
Mornin Brock, got a little bit later start this AM. Dogs are walked and sittin down with coffee and breakfast and your video. God Bless Brother....LETS RIDE!!
I was waiting for you to begin. :)
Another stunning video and ride, and you are correct the road to the son in glacier park is one of the best rides in America! I call it the road to the son because it like riding in heaven
Totally agree!
When I bought my 1090 it was delivered with bad fuel ... damage was done and within 50 miles it would hardly run. New fuel filters remedied the issue for the next 3k miles until my fuel pump crapped out. New fuel pump and filters by Guglatech and no problems since. Rottweiler Performance should be your go to on keeping clean air running through your engine .... IMO
Good to know. I’m always learning about these things
Let me give you some good advice always buy the cheapest gas you can find why because cheap gas at theses little towns stay fresh also when was the last time the valves were checked .
That’s a great idea.
Often times I’m in places with only one gas station and don’t have choices.
I’ve had trouble w diesel engines a couple times
Now that’s a Royale with cheese!
With no onions
Truly enjoy your positive attitude and outlook, It is so nice that you stop and visit with the bicyclist too. The burger looks amazing. Thank you so much for sharing :-)
Thank you kindly
I bet the water is very cold in those mountain lakes!!
Yes. But it’s delicious. :)
Hope the motorcycle is okay, beautiful scenery, Huckleberry ice cream burger looked delicious.
It’s amazing. Try it
Nice video Broc. What time of year do you recommend doing this. Wife and I will be tent camping the whole way.
July to September is best
It’s a small window warm enough to ride it. But I hope you do it all. Lemme know
I am now fuel paranoid brother!
Yeah. It is becoming a long story.
Upper Whitefish Lake & Red Meadow Lake
Epic! Love it there
Hey brother if you're ever in Sturgis Montana and go to the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame and look up my aunt Cookie Crumb (that's really her name) but check out some of the stuff she did on motorcycles
Very interesting
Have you now found out why the KTM won't start? It can't be due to bad petrol alone. Have a good ride Greetings Hanspeter
Learning that there is more to this problem. Keep watching.
OK...ok....OK...so was it "gummed up valves"? Is it "fixed" now....?
Please say it is🤞👌
I wish I had good news for you.
@@MotoMission. 😔
huckleberry icecream burger!!!!! im in!
Let’s meet there
Never had a burger with ice cream on it…..
You gotta try this one. It’s amazing. Not just a gimmick
@@MotoMission. I do like a burger, and I love ice cream…..
Now we can have both
Hey man. I’d love to hear from you. My dad went to college with you.
Good times !
@@MotoMission. Ronnie is my dad
KTM sais du solide, les autrichiens sont comme les suisses ils produisent de la qualité 😊 prenez soin de vous et votre épouse 🤗😎
Thank you !
Off the wall question here. I just noticed that your windscreen is shorter than the stock windscreen on my 23 890 Adv R,what screen is that and have you found there is less wind noise with the shorter screen? I love my 23 adv r but the wind noise is almost unbearable at highway speeds. Of course I didn’t buy it to crush highway miles with but sometimes you have too. Thx for your input and love the channel
I think mine is stock. I didn’t change it.
I’ve never had issues with wind. Seems to be perfect for me. Even on interstate it is good
Fuel filter and fuel pump.. maybe.. last time I changed it at my CRF250 then no problem after that… Just finished this series Mexico Canada 👍🏽👍🏽. Cheers from Indonesia 🇮🇩
Digging deeper and deeper until we find problem
Learning a lot. Thank you
From Indonesia! Wow. Native or visiting?
I have a friend who lived there 10 years as a missionary.
@@MotoMission. Native 😄. I have sister living in NJ. 2008 I visit US. But not yet on motorcycle. I wanna back there but 😄 Indonesia Rupiah is very low.
@@MotoMission. where he’s staying? I live in Jogja Central Java, I’m Christian too 😍😍
He moved back and now lives in Texas. But he loves it there.
I hope you come to the USA someday. If so I will take you for a ride. I have a bike for ya waiting.
Need a valve adjustment maybe?
We will see soon
no way dude. i was just at penco lol.
Great people there.
Montana's a great place to ride. Spend some time there some years back on a fishing trip. Enjoyed every minute of it. So about your bike and doing some research, most owners really like their 890 but the bike does have some electrical gremlins and since you have compromised your fuel system, you got two bad things going on and I'm sure by now you've had anything figured out. But what I'm seeing is you probably need to revamp your fuel system doing injectors. Maybe new fuel lines injectors aren't quite as forgiving as a carburetor is and once they're gummed up like that time to get some new ones and electrical part you need probably a specialist to figure that out. Don't know what's going on with the KTM on that part but I know you have it running good now. Just my thoughts so we'll see you next week or on the trail. Peace out brother!
Thanks for the research. I’m learning. I have loved this bike. 25k miles without issues But this one is a mess
Ordered fuel pump
Best of luck. Hope that does it for you
Is there not two fuel filters on those bikes, one in the fuel tank and one before the injector
Checking those
It’s your intake valves mate!
I think we have two problems. And I believe you may be very correct !
@@MotoMission. Best of luck. Had my 901 intake valves close up on me in 3500 miles due to dust ingestion. Reshimmed them and ran them until 11,500 and I ran into the no start issue again (had to tow bump start). Currently have the head torn down and putting in new intake valves.
Ouch. I’m learning a lot more about different types of air filters and boxes.
I am good about changing air filter. But not all air cleaners are equal. Expensive lessons right?
Ktm no thanks!
Haha. What should I get next to ride.
