Poe's insurance must have a field day whenever this stuff happens. Though he probably will get a new X-Wing(or some other version) in the same colors for Episode IX.
I honestly don't care Space Combat in TFA and TLJ were terrible, ok TFA was not terrible but I couldn't stand that scene where he kills TIEs as easily as someone would in a video game. Bring back the better space combat of the original trilogy like Rogue one did.
Personally I hope that they change it up from X-Wings for episode 9. They can still have a few in their ranks, but I hope that we get to see a (brand new, not refitted design from the OT) main fighter
I believe the E-Wing is actually made canon in that same comic referenced in the video today, it's in the hanger with the ship from Kessel in the corner.
That is my main beef with the new sequel trilogy to begin with. Sure, there are countless of lore-reasons that we can justify (the Resistance is not officially part of the New Republic, etc, etc) - but in the end of ends we all know the real reason why they are still using tech from the OT-era: to cash in on the nostalgia factor. Nostalgia and fan service is great and can work amazingly well - just look at Rogue One (in my opinion). But for episodes 7-9, they really should've went somewhere else. I'm so bored of seeing X-wings and TIE fighters by now. I mean it's not like when they have new vehicles they go wild and creative (example: AT-M6 is basically a bigger AT-AT) but at least you can tell there have been advancements in tech and years. One of the many great things about the prequels that everyone forgets is how different and new everything looked. You could clearly see that between the AT-TE and the AT-AT, there had been like a 20 year gap or so. Here we have a gap of 30 years and we see such little differences. I know all the official lore reasons (being a die-hard fan myself), I know the First Order just wants to improve on the old Imperial designs and make them bigger (which I can kinda live with) but there is virtually little to no difference between the Rebellion and the Resistance, in terms of ideals, design and so forth. They clearly went with the "reset" button (aka, Starkiller base) in order to draw in the mass audience + those OT purists that I am not overly fond of. Just my two cents.
Valentine Radushev I agree, probably the best example besides the AT TE/AT AT is the ETA 2 Jedi Starfighter from episode 3. Personally it's my favourite ship, but beyond that it does a great job to marry old TIE elements with things that are entirely new and fresh. Same thing with the ARC 170 and the X Wing.
I wonder if he gets a T-85 X-wing with a cloaking device in EP9 since that was what he wanted in the novel for TLJ when they called for there allies on Crait.
I want to see a new Black One. Poe is my favorite character from this new saga.Though I was a bit pissed at him after TLJ. I have had time to think and forgive him.
No that wasnt it.I see now it was a very high stress situation for everyone. Then again Holdo should have had a plan of action other than that speech. Speak with all senior commanders and calm down the troops as it will so they could focus on not letting Hux and the first order get to them. All things considered Hux is a terrible combat commander even though he is a general. I think he is more of a support role type general not a combat general. Now that he and Kylo are in full command the Resistance has more of a shot working to the advantage that both are terrible leaders.
Barry Bend that too, although I'm hoping it becomes a long range interceptor, kind of like a more autonomous A wing rather than full replacement of the x wing. The E wing was a pretty good fighter, after his f35 fase, but the T70 seem more of a direct improvement over the 65b so I think a next gen X wing would make more scene as a multirole fighter
Barry Bend more like a 35 to a 22 both fighters have stealth capabilities only I could see the E wing being more involved in more under the radar operations due to it's smaller frame and having less engines would reduce it's signature.
That personal fighter was a Clone Wars era V-Wing used by the new Empire, barely seen in ROTS but one of the best toys made of a ship. Great video on a great story!
New resistance/rebellion New fighters imho, possibly a hodgepodge, possibly a new generation of standard fighters depending on just how soon after 8 the new film is
After seeing his new T-70 Xwing & Black One. I can’t tell which I like better. But I’m starting to like both due since it kinda shows how much Poe has changed in between TLJ & TROS.
My personal favourite would be a black E-Wing, just another T70 X-Wing would be so boring. More diversity would be great so introduce the K-Wing, and one of the crew members needs to sigh and say "if we only had those one movie earlier ..."
Part of me wants to see Poe take a more leader role especially after the last Jedi it seems he’s probably one of the more experienced and higher ranking members left
I heard the paint used for his xwing also made it invisible to some radar systems. I don’t see Poe with a new xwing due to no financial support for the resistance at this time.
that hanger attack by klyo was savage .....he killed most of the pilots and crew ....not to mention most of the fighters ....what are they gonna use in episode 9 ?
R2 was de-fragmenting his memory banks, and was actually in "low-power mode", which was basically sleep mode or hibernation, not actually shut down. At the end of TFA, presumably he finished getting his memories in order and finally woke up.
Personally I never liked that they destroyed Black one in The Last Jedi. I love Black one and I was disappointed that it was destroyed when I first saw the trailer. I kinda thought it would be a new legendary ship that would be seen in all three films of the new trilogy. Maybe his next ship will be a modified T 85 X Wing or another customized T 70. Which brings me to a theory I had. Before The Last Jedi I had theorized that maybe remnants of the New Republics fleet survived and would join forces with the Resistance but of course that didn't happen, perhaps in the next film. I would also like to see new starfighter classes in Star Wars. We saw the Tie Silencer but I would really like to see something new for the good guys.
I'm hoping Poe gets Luke's old X-wing. We saw it submerged in the waters off Ach-To!. So.. why not.. Besides.. at the end of TLJ, the resistance was down to 1 and only 1 ship. BTW.. where were they headed? Were they headed back to Ach-To!?
X-wings are a little too Bi-Plane in that they sorta remind me of tier one multirole aircraft from “World of Warplanes”. So a “Star Wars” equivalent of tier ten multirole aircraft would probably be best. But bear in mind, the First Order will probably have their own.
I wonder whose gonna help the resistance now their allies???? Giving them x-wings and other fighters or do they have a secret base with extra supplies. I just know poe is gonna kill Hux and destroy like 30 ties on his own. In ep 9
Nice topic , but wasn't a bother to me but am a die hard star trek fan . Star wars is just something to watch , as I am not pleased how star wars has a monopoly on screen time and toys such as lego
I just hope to see Poe's new x-wing, a better one. Also I heard about star wars episode 9 leaks. I just wonder about what do you think about it? ( so sorry for my poor English )
glrider100 They’re probably going to rendezvous with their allies in the Outer Rim, or the rest of Black Squadron. Leia sent the other pilots under Poe’s command to look for Republic military leaders.
Hey, at the beginning of the last Jedi, pose black XWing had a rocket jet type thing on the back of it. And if the last Jedi takes place immediately after the force awakens, then why didn’t he use it in the battle star killer base.
BASZA FILM it wasn't invented/equipped/ready/needed, pretty sure the techs made it in a few hours in between Inferno Squads arrival on D'Qar and just before the Battle over D'Qar
'his beloved fighter had returned from Starkiller Base with a bad case of carbon scoring, frayed fire-control linkages, and a host of other minor maladies. Goss Toowers, the perpetually dismayed starfighter maintenance chief, had looked over the fighter and offered Poe a choice: His overburdened techs could repair the battle damage, or they could install the piece of experimental equipment Poe had asked for, the one that hadn't quite been ready for the Starkiller raid.' ~ Star Wars: The Last Jedi Novelization, Chapter 3.
well the F-16 has been in service since the 70s(79 I believe) seriously military tech gets used way past its due date, also the gap between ROTJ and TFA is 30 years I thought not 40.
Solo is set from what I heard about 10 years before A New Hope so you have to add another 10 years min to your 30. Yes F-16s have been in service that long but they weren't the same F-16 the whole time. They cycle through them. Certainly it is possible but some Spice dealer maintaining the same ship for that long in the condition needed for Poe to use it seems unlikely. But then again the Millennium Falcon is a heck of a lot older than that.
Bobby Vee Thats not how time works. TFA is 30 years after the battle of Endor. There’s nothing that can change how much time passed between ROTJ and TFA. Solo is before ANH, so it doesn’t affect the timeline like that.
Uhhhh. That is kind if stupid. Why didn’t BB-8 just hack into the ship. We have seen astromechs take over ships. He could have just hacked it and forced it to land.
The Y-Wing is actually a much better choice for planetary bomber runs than the B-Wing, so there's reason to keep it. The MG-100 Starfortresses may have been mean't to replace them, but as we saw in the TLJ, their effectiveness may be... mixed.
Chris sonofPear yeah the star fortress was meant to bomb heavily armored bases. You would think the bases would have guns as well as armor but they must've not with how defensive those things were.
Poe: This is outrageous! How can I blow up the Dreadnought and not be a commander?
Leia: Take a seat, captain.
George Lucas should have written the dialogue
Poe: Tell me a joke
Leia: Rank of a commander
Poe: I don't get it?
Leia: I know you don't
Darth Troller lol
Your name is an oxymoron
Because that would be against the social story they are trying to tell.
Poe's insurance must have a field day whenever this stuff happens.
Though he probably will get a new X-Wing(or some other version) in the same colors for Episode IX.

Bring the E-Wing into cannon as an example
I believe the E-Wing is actually made canon in that same comic referenced in the video today, it's in the hanger with the ship from Kessel in the corner.
Updated b-wings 🤤

@2:00 love the collection of ships, especially that naboo fighter
If maybe not properly to scale...
I hope we get to see T-85 X-Wings in Ep 9.
I was just really frig'n sad about it being destroyed in TLJ.
I really wanted a ship in this Trilogy to be a character like the Falcon is.
I want to see a new Black One. Poe is my favorite character from this new saga.Though I was a bit pissed at him after TLJ. I have had time to think and forgive him.
It wasn't his fault. Vice Admiral Purple hair just punished him for being a male hero.
No that wasnt it.I see now it was a very high stress situation for everyone. Then again Holdo should have had a plan of action other than that speech. Speak with all senior commanders and calm down the troops as it will so they could focus on not letting Hux and the first order get to them. Whoop whoop....new fighter ... Yes please!!!
Or the same who knows
I'm hoping to see the t85
Paulo Maurício or the E-Wing.
Barry Bend
that too, although I'm hoping it becomes a long range interceptor, kind of like a more autonomous A wing rather than full replacement of the x wing. Paulo Maurício well for someone like Poe I think the E-WING could be a stealth fighter compared to the X-wing to an F-16.
Barry Bend more like a 35 to a 22 both fighters have stealth capabilities only I could see the E wing being more involved in more under the radar operations due to it's smaller frame and having less engines would reduce it's signature.
2:00 is that a e wing in the bottom right?
Correct, it appeared at a Poe Dameron comic issue
Yes
is it it´s first canon appearance?
Yes, although as more of an easter egg so far. Poe uses a fighter rather like a thinner variant V-Wing.
It certainly appears to be :)
That personal fighter was a Clone Wars era V-Wing used by the new Empire, barely seen in ROTS but one of the best toys made of a ship. Great video on a great story!
And he really ended up having a new one hahaha. The white and orange one looks amazing
Its' official Poe Dameron, now you will be known as "the Black Meteor".
You and star wars theory are the reason why i still like star wars of any trilogy
0:35 are those Vulture Droids in the background? or am I crazy
I'd love to see Poe fly The Falcon in Ep. 9! Even if for a short time.
I can’t wait for episode nine
New resistance/rebellion New fighters imho, possibly a hodgepodge, possibly a new generation of standard fighters depending on just how soon after 8 the new film is
After seeing his new T-70 Xwing & Black One. I can’t tell which I like better. But I’m starting to like both due since it kinda shows how much Poe has changed in between TLJ & TROS.
give him an E-Wing!
So to be less conspicuous he took an unmarked X-Wing yet decided to bring along his "one of a kind" astromech with a custom paint job?!! Nice job Poe!
My personal favourite would be a black E-Wing, just another T70 X-Wing would be so boring.
More diversity would be great so introduce the K-Wing, and one of the crew members needs to sigh and say "if we only had those one movie earlier ..."
I know that part was just pure sarcasm.
Part of me wants to see Poe take a more leader role especially after the last Jedi it seems he’s probably one of the more experienced and higher ranking members left
StealthX-Wings ?
I hope Poe gets his black X-Wing back in Episode IX. I'm sure he can always get another T-70 and paint it in the colors of his old one.
I heard the paint used for his xwing also made it invisible to some radar systems. I don’t see Poe with a new xwing due to no financial support for the resistance at this time.
I love the black one sad when it was destroyed
that hanger attack by klyo was savage .....he killed most of the pilots and crew ....not to mention most of the fighters ....what are they gonna use in episode 9 ?
How R2-D2 did wake up just at the end of TFA? Who did awake him? We know it wasn't Luke because he cut himself off the force... So?
Bill O'Brien How would R2 know that if he was shut down?
I interpreted that as further evidence that R2 is actually Force Sensitive.
So HE went into a form of exile too then?
RATPT0I: because he knew Luke went into exile several years prior
R2 was de-fragmenting his memory banks, and was actually in "low-power mode", which was basically sleep mode or hibernation, not actually shut down. At the end of TFA, presumably he finished getting his memories in order and finally woke up.
I kinda hope we see his "rapier leader" t 85 fighter, cause I kinda like the black-red colorscheme
He was undercover
If you go to be inconspicuous.. fly a DIFFERENT KIND of ship!
In 2:03 is that in the bottom right corner an E-wing ?! I didn't know that they are canon ...
It kind of is, now.
I just finished reading Aftermath Life Debt
I hope Poe will have a T85 X-Wing in Episode 9
Nice Video :)
Personally I never liked that they destroyed Black one in The Last Jedi. I love Black one and I was disappointed that it was destroyed when I first saw the trailer. Why the resistance didn’t use T-65 x-wings ?
I hope Poe will pilot the Millennium Falcon with Chewie and become a smuggler! =D
Remindsm eo f Mad Max Interceptor, beloved but blown up or damaged so many times.
He will fly V-wing and V stend for V-agina ;-)
TFDP117 There is also the possibility that he is just mentally incapable.
Moxie I don't see what spacecraft have to do with genitalia.
I liked his new one from episode 9
I hope he gets to fly an E-wing in episode 9.
If he was trying to be inconspicuous, he probably should of taken any other ship than a xwing.
Maybe Poe gets a T-85? it would be awesome
Does smoke have a light saber
I bet he'll get a T-85 X-Wing.
He needed to be undercover
I wanna see him in a t-85 honestly
X-wings are a little too Bi-Plane in that they sorta remind me of tier one multirole aircraft from “World of Warplanes”.

For some reason lego has him with a white and orange xwing "eyebrows eyebrows"
Whatever
I just hope to see Poe's new x-wing, a better one.
Also I heard about star wars episode 9 leaks. I just wonder about what do you think about it?
( so sorry for my poor English )
Wouldn't he have been less conspicuous in NOT an X-Wing?
Question... Where were Rey, Finn, Poe and the rest of the resistance headed after they fled Crate...? Is there any Canon explanation?
glrider100 They’re probably going to rendezvous with their allies in the Outer Rim, or the rest of Black Squadron. Leia sent the other pilots under Poe’s command to look for Republic military leaders.
Commander D'Acy had a contact in the outer rim who could help them.
Hi I'm early, what's your name?
Edit: IDK if it's just me, but I think it would be pretty cool if Poe got a E-Wing in the next movie!
On 2:01 you can see a e wing fighter since when are they cannon??????
Looks like a V-wing
Hey, at the beginning of the last Jedi, pose black XWing had a rocket jet type thing on the back of it. And if the last Jedi takes place immediately after the force awakens, then why didn’t he use it in the battle star killer base.

Merchandise, that’s why.
Is that an Ewing in the bottom Right at 1:55?
Nevermind, Bunch of other people pointed it out, and it seems like it is...
Maybe that blue x wing poe get destroy by heavy stormtrooper
The snubfighter at the bottom right corner of the image at 2:02 looks A LOT like an E-Wing... Just saying.
Andrew Beehler It is, bit since it’s in a collector’s storage unit, it’s probably considered an old fighter by this point.
The real question is no more black-one
Because plot.
how would he get a new ship- there are only 12 people left on the falcon lmaoooooooooooo
You are talking about 40 years between the two films, that is my understanding so it seems unlikely to be the same star fighter.
well the F-16 has been in service since the 70s(79 I believe) seriously military tech gets used way past its due date, also the gap between ROTJ and TFA is 30 years I thought not 40.

Since Disney is now owned by tumblr the next movie and the solo one will probably suck
😊
Uhhhh. That is kind if stupid. Why didn’t BB-8 just hack into the ship. We have seen astromechs take over ships. He could have just hacked it and forced it to land.
He was shot by the women. After he recovered, he did hack into the weapons and shut down the ship causing it to crash.
Why isn’t there a y-wing mk2 when there is a-wing mk2 and a new x-wing
Sir Squirrel y wings stopped production around the rise of the empire so they were old by the time of the rebel alliance
Sir Squirrel No, but there's a Mark 2 version of the b-wing and I think even a Mark 3 version. B-wings are much advanced than y-wings
1Jarvis Ngo the B-52 Bomber is still around and it's 60 years old.
The Y-Wing is actually a much better choice for planetary bomber runs than the B-Wing, so there's reason to keep it. The MG-100 Starfortresses may have been mean't to replace them, but as we saw in the TLJ, their effectiveness may be... mixed.

OMG IM 2000 LIKE
Answer: cuz the sequels are bad written.
HERE THATS NOT A PLOT HOLE THERES MUCH BIGGER PLOT HOLES IN THE ORIGINALS AND PREQUELS BUT PEOPLE LIKE YOU STILL SAY THEYRE FLAWLESS
First
Not really.
