I enjoyed listening to this so much. I have just begun LDN for a different reason. I am constantly astonished at the number of different ailments it helps with. I am well aware it isn't a cure, it's a helping hand. I appreciate my Derm being willing to listen and decide to give this drug a try. He had not heard of its vast use! Neither had a couple of other Derms that refused to even listen to me. I had to go Derm shopping. My derm of 30 years flat out refused to even consider it. I've been away from that practice for 3 years and other patients are being prescribed LDN regularly from the doctor that would not even consider reading about it. Perhaps he was bored and read something. Thanks so much for the details you addressed concerning dosages. I especially like that you are cognizant of the lesser amounts being just as if not more effective. This was very good. Thank You.
I wish I knew a blog that patients can talk openly about their experiences with LDN. I stopped using LDN for over a year. I decided to give LDN another try (back pain & gut problems) I’m doing mostly well on a extremely low dose. .5 Mil for me allows me cope with the side effects.
When you took LDN the first time, did you give it at least 6-8 months? From my understanding, side effects can linger for quite awhile, but usually go away after some amount of time.
I have had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME) since I was a teenager. I am now 60. If I take a little less than 1mg of LDN my bowels will evacuate completely within about 30 minutes, usually diarrhea. Interestingly this would seem to be highly unusual as it is not being reported elsewhere. At any rate it would seem to indicate that my body is processing this drug differently than most and give some evidence that my body's opioid/immune regulation system is not working properly and perhaps even differently that other CFS sufferers. This makes me wonder if once they finally develop a test for CFS if it will indicate that I have CFS since my case presentation is quite different at least when it comes to this apparently unique reaction. I suffer from an irritable bowel and take 6mg of Immodium QD. it is my understanding that many CFS sufferers share this symptom. So perhaps my dramatic reaction to 1mg LDN is not so unique. It simply hasn't been recognized thanks to the lack of studies. Thanks pharmaceutical companies and medical system that has been failing me for decades now.
