Hey guys. loved this one George has settled in well. just love the snooze picks. If I were to leave mine out side the shop like that, the rspca would be all over me like white on rice.lovethe chips . Idea for you as I have said before I was in the Royal and a good sandwich was the banjo .It derived from Singapore . and matlots waiting for the boat back to there ship anchored in the harbor. It consists of a 6inch crusty roll lashings of butter two fried eggs runny yokes. optionally HP sause. But it does not need it served hot. it got called a banjo due to the fact that you had to hold it away from you to stop the yoke from running down over your uniform. Today I suppose it would be called an air guitar..
Carcassonne - now that is a good board game, good choice! I wonder if there is a board game about making an canal 'empire'...? Loved the homely nature of the video.
@@MinimalList It's amazing what one will go and search for online in these times of lockdown... and I did indeed find a board game about canals called Canal Mania (boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/19995/canal-mania). It is a holiday I would love to do, and after following the vlogs even more keen on it.

Just love all the wet grass and mud....😉 Today was 37c in a shady spot in our garden in Perth, WA. “Mud, glorious mud” but just wondering how you cleaned up George after his ball games and muddy tow paths?
Dried chives and dried parsley for that cheese sauce I swear it's a game changer :) Try some panko bread crumbs seasoned and soaked in butter, just enough to lightly crust the top and bake till golden brown for a wonderful crunch too :) Sorry can't help myself :)
Cool. Normally I do my YouTubing in the afternoon, but here I sit this morning, with breakfast at the ready and click play only to watch you also having your breakfast. Enjoyed the peek into the daily life, though I wanted the cheese to be darker on the cauliflower , and the cauliflower to have more, well, dead animals. George totally needs a brother ;)
There shall be no dead animals upon my veggies! Glad you liked it! I don't think George wants anyone getting in on his gig though, he's jealous enough of our attention as it is! M
Great video! Though as you aren’t CCing at the moment maybe a video on what you would have changed or looked out for more on your boat if you where buying it now. Eg would you have gone for engine inside, or maybe bought it with solar already installed. More batteries.
Well, we are still CC'ing, we're just doing it with a few longer pauses... that's actually a pretty good idea for a video, I'll talk it over with Jo. I'd personally have loved a working-style boat, but I've yet to see one that wouldn't require me to lose three inches of skull. But yeah I think we could have some useful advice for people looking, so we'll ponder that one a bit! Cheers! M
Good to see a video of a "normal day" whilst moored. My wife and I wondered how easy it is living in such a reduced space after living in a house ? Is is easy to adapt to life in a narrowboat if we decided to live aboard one ? Keep up the good work...I enjoy your updates very much. best wishes
Assuming you get along pretty well, it's not that hard to adjust. The room is definitely small, but it's not too difficult to build a rhythm for moving around on it... though I'll admit it's a good thing she's so skinny, as I am not! We have spent a lot of time traveling together and staying in small spaces, so it wasn't a huge transition for us, but it's still going to take some getting used to. That said, I'd say we were quite comfortable and adjusted to it within a couple of weeks. M
You are in my home town not sure if you are still there now but try the barley mow pub very nice meal in there well last time I went it’s in newbold right on the canal
We were sitting just a few minutes walk away for the last couple of weeks. We got some laundry done there, but we didn't head back in because we couldn't bear to track all the mud attached to George and our boots onto their nice clean floors! Seemed a very nice spot though, indeed. We really liked Newbold. M
got to love George, is he nuclear powered? as he is always on the go...except when snoring with his ball lol heading off down the trent and Mersey soon myself. might see you if you decide to go that way. That chip shop looked good as well lol

Hi what a great video, and life, I am a single parent all ways had holidays on canal boats. got to move next year my house has to make way for a road, and I am strongly thinking of having a narrowboat built to how I want it and living on it with my little girl and dog. What do you think about that for a idea??
Not a bad idea at all, though they do take a while to build. Personally I'd try and find a workable used one first, rather than pay the premium of a new one. The girl and the dog will love it, though we do try and show that it's not all easy and comfy, and that there's a substantial learning curve. M

If you're heading up the Ashby, make sure you stop at the Bosworth Battle Field visitors center. If you're interested in history it's fascinating, but if you're not it's still worth a visit to see what happens when you spend millions on a visitors center only to be told by archeologists a few years later that it's in completely the wrong place!
When I come over from Florida for a Narrowboat trip next September, can I come visit George? I can see that George only plays in the highest quality mud.
No telling where we'll be, but we don't mind visitors... that said, everyone's a little surprised to find out he's usually disinterested in anyone that isn't actively throwing a ball to him or feeding him! M
We typically don't ... we towel him off, brush him off, and occasionally have to hose him off ... but I'm not entirely certain that dog has ever been clean. For one thing, we're not sure the brown spots are actually real! M
Hallo chaps! So glad to hear from you😊 Keep going safely through the winter months😊 Think yourselves lucky that you don't have a Golden Retriever, or 2, as I have! They are the most incredibly amazing cuddly dogs😊 They snore, however, 5 timesl louder than George😁😂 They also 'claim' the bed when I am in the bathroom before going to bed😑😕 I say 'the bed', because I always thought that it was my bed, but , come winter, it's 'our' bed, with me having to squeeze a space between 2 snoozing Goldies😟😂, and they also have the cheek to complain, with offended grunts , and disgruntled sighs, when I try to get a place to sleep in 'my' bed! (Sorry, 'their bed '😂) All love , and best wishes, Claire and the sofa crew , Berlin, Germany 😊 😙 😙
It's called Carcassonne, specifically with the River and Abbot expansions. It's quite a good game for a small number of players, and one of the few we've found we ever play twice. M
No wonder the towpath's muddy! And no excuses really: you could easily spend the sedentary winter months teaching Geoarge how to use the toilet. Just look how quickly he grasped the concept of chasing ball, returning ball, chewing ball, etc ;)
I am not one to cause trouble, but Jo did you notice when Michael was on the computer he hadn't even switched it on? Proper skiver he is. Get the whip out and make him work.
I've been on Linux for years... but usually at companies with big admin teams, and this is my first time trying to build useable Arch dev laptop, made much more complicated by wanting to do it repeatably via Ansible, but also with a machine that's got all those cutting edge bits installed that I shouldn't have spent the money on... turns out the Installation Guide is dead wrong for nvme drives, especially with FDE. Sigh. I haven't spent this much time staring at the Console (not a terminal emulator, with newfangled features like cut and bloody paste) in years.
I started with MS-DOS and then onto Unix and Xenix, and thankfully have left it all, along with Linux behind ages ago. I'm very happy to have Windows and Android these days. (Mostly unrelated, but have you seen the Wyze Cameras? Cheap security cam, might be perfect for your boat - runs off of USB - mine's plugged into my extra port on my router for power) $20+ bucks, free 14 day cloud storage, night infrared recording. FAR from perfect, but the cost makes up for what's not there just yet.
Yes, this laptop I'm on hates me because I tried to put Linux on it, it seemed to find all the right drivers until it came to the video and said to me "Bob? What the hell is this?". I could have kept it in basic mode, but it wasn't very nice to work on.
Hmm.... another missed video. Slightly freaked out by Georges choice of words. Not sure what he was subjected to TV wise as a pup but he appears to have a ball in his mouth when it happened. I'm sure the meds are getting stronger but I guess I can delete this tomorrow! Georges day still proves more interesting than mine for the most part!
Where we pixelated him? That was actually a wee! But yes, of course we pic up all his poos! That why you can often see a collection of little black bags tied up on the front of our boat! Jo
The risk of that is extremely, even vanishingly low at that particular Co-Op, total population about 40, and foot traffic in the half-dozen or so an hour... we'd never leave him outside a shop where there's any sort of traffic, or when he isn't in eyesight the whole time, but in this case Jo was out there with the camera anyway. M
I'm laughing at George, even asleep with the ball in his mouth. Totally obsessed 🎾
He is one with the ball, and the ball is with he. M
I simply LOVE it!

Where doe George find all the energy
Brilliant did like that.
Thanks for watching! M
I'm curious, what game were you playing around the 3:45 min mark?
That's Carcassonne! A great game! M
How do you get George clean after his walkies?
We typically don't ... we towel him off, brush him off, and occasionally have to hose him off ... but I'm not entirely certain that dog has ever been clean. For one thing, we're not sure the brown spots are actually real! M
(laughing) You (three) are a pleasure to watch/see.
Thanks! From all three! M
Hallo chaps!
So glad to hear from you😊
Keep going safely through the winter months😊
Think yourselves lucky that you don't have a Golden Retriever, or 2, as I have!
They are the most incredibly amazing cuddly dogs😊
They snore, however, 5 timesl louder than George😁😂
They also 'claim' the bed when I am in the bathroom before going to bed😑😕
I say 'the bed', because I always thought that it was my bed, but , come winter, it's 'our' bed, with me having to squeeze a space between 2 snoozing Goldies😟😂, and they also have the cheek to complain, with offended grunts , and disgruntled sighs, when I try to get a place to sleep in 'my' bed! (Sorry, 'their bed '😂)
All love , and best wishes, Claire and the sofa crew , Berlin, Germany 😊 😙 😙
They sound very much like George in every respect! M
If you please, what was the board game you were playing? That looks different. Thank you.
It's called Carcassonne, specifically with the River and Abbot expansions. It's quite a good game for a small number of players, and one of the few we've found we ever play twice. M
more like a day in the life of George, but at least you got in a couple of shots.
Well, our lives do revolve around his! M
I liked this video purely because you blured your dog weeing :)
Spent ages figuring out how to! M
No wonder the towpath's muddy! And no excuses really: you could easily spend the sedentary winter months teaching Geoarge how to use the toilet. Just look how quickly he grasped the concept of chasing ball, returning ball, chewing ball, etc ;)
Where did that rogue "a" come from?
I've thought of it, but my worry is then I'd have nowhere to sit and read in the mornings! M
Which rogue A? Did we miss an A?
I am not one to cause trouble, but Jo did you notice when Michael was on the computer he hadn't even switched it on? Proper skiver he is. Get the whip out and make him work.
What d'you think the lights on the keyboard were all about? I'm working in the Linux Console right there, white text on black screen. ;-) M
I'm a Linux man too, I cut my programming teeth on the Cray II using Genisco terminals, then Linux came in and it was a perfect console for UNIX.
Well it looks like you can either get things done or you can get things done but you can't do both.
Me Likey !!
Thankey!
Hmm.... another missed video.
We're not sure on his TV regimen ether, him being a rescue... but we tend to agree the ball was in the mouth the whole time! M
Maybe I should be barred from commenting after about midnight ...
Hope you picked that dog mess up? couldn't see a bag in your hand??.
Where we pixelated him? That was actually a wee! But yes, of course we pic up all his poos! That why you can often see a collection of little black bags tied up on the front of our boat! Jo
Life is better with a Spaniel they snore well don’t they?
They do indeed! Ours even talks! M
George has been clearly been possessed by the ghost of a 1980's American pornstar 7:40
Personally I think it's 1980's wrestling star Macho Man Randy Savage. M
👌👌👌⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️😀
Just subscribed: very enjoyable (however please no fast replay).
Sorry, 'extremely loud grunts of complaint'😆😀
First
Well done!
Please tell me you don't leave George tied up outside shops unattended, that's a really bad idea.
carmadham what would be a better alternative?
Not leaving him tied outside a shop alone!
carmadham So you are there with your dog in front of a shop. You want to buy something inside. What exactly do YOU do with your dog at this moment?
I don't go to the shops with my dog because it is not safe to leave him outside, anybody could take him.
