Ke Huy Quan was a revelation in "Everything Everywhere All At Once", so much so that I'm hoping Indy will pass on the whip to Short Round in the next Indiana Jones movie 😃
I really hope they do that! Temple of Doom is my fav Indy movie and I love short round. Would be a great idea to get Ke Huy Quan to take over the franchise. Hopefully the recent pic of him and Harrison Ford together that went viral will pique Disney's interest.
Those goddamn ROCKS made me cry the most during that montage. What a Film! The Daniels were so great to listen to. All the BTS stuff was so impressive and just goes to show how much effort they & everyone from their Team put into this film. I am so happy that their efforts paid off and they got all the love & acclaim from both critics and audiences alike and BO success too. As usual our boys had great questions. I always love it whenever the guest says "Oh, that was a great Question." Because they always are. I hope The Daniels return for a deeper dive like you guys got to do with QT. 🙌
On paper, as a film lover who’s favorite films are by Bergman and Kar Wai, this could’ve been dismissed as an annoying Gen Z, way too referential, this was an incredible slap to conventions. It’s one of the most heartfelt films I’ve ever seen about family, trauma, the immigrant experience, depression, and love. Can’t wait to get the Criterion blu-ray!
Perfect timing! I have the companion book "A Vast, Pointless Gyration of Radioactive Rocks and Gas in Which You Happen to Occur" arriving soon. Really informative interview this week, as always.
Great episode! Totally agree with Sean and Jake. Andor was sooo good. I just connected so much more to the characters and the world.. than I have in a long time with any other Star Wars show/movie. Even unfinished.. I'd put Andor up at an 'S'. Looking forward to the 2nd season.. and I do hope they make more shows like that. Will keep me solidly back in Star Wars for sure. Thanks guys.
You guys have failed to realize that Netflix makes $30 billion per year in revenue, which is more than all the studios combined. They don't need the cash. They also didn't pay $450 million for the Knives Out franchise only to split box office with theaters. They bought it to benefit their subscribers and shareholders, and long theatrical windows do not help them. They're using brief theatrical events to promote their streaming service. Nothing will change as Reed Hastings has already made this point in response to Onion's performance.
I feel like for Actor it's still anyone's game between Butler, Fraser, and Farrell. All have great narratives - Butler transforming himself, Fraser having a Big Comeback, Farrell being Long Overdue. Gonna be interesting because it's anyone's game in that category. Also, what's your thoughts on the new Willow show in Disney+?
Blade Runner (2022) Synopsis A blade runner must pursue and terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space, and have returned to Earth to find their creator.
Enjoy the show, guys! Happy ReelBlend Friday!
your conversation with The Daniels make me wanna watch Everything Everywhere All at Once, third time
Never a bad idea
I agree with Jake about the "premiere" thing on RUclips. Thanks for asking us, Gabe! Love the show!

Why the Daniels should win the Oscars for directing.

Right?! How amazing, creative, and poignant to have the quietude of rocks with googlie eyes advance the narrative of a existential movie!

Premieres of ReelBlend start at around 2pm here in Norway, so I don't mind
I love this podcast but I dislike youtube premieres if that is any consideration for you. Love you boys!
We love you, as well
Don't ever lose your sense of the absurd, Daniels!! I'd love to see Interesting Ball go toe to toe with "normal" movies for awards.
