- Built on Standard Survivor difficulty with no mods. Unfortunately I have abandoned this save since my character is infected.

I didn't even notice that. That puts a tragic spin on the whole thing. The character wanted to look and see everything he had built one last time...

Ive got like 400 hours in this game and i was about 300 hours in when i first realized when you die you dont lose the world, just the character, so id always remake my world when i died lol
@@dooglemcyoogle2202 Honestly that feels like the right way to play. Dying and coming straight back to your old base but with less stats feels like it would take away the importance of what you accomplish and I'd even argue make the game less impactful

The mannequin behind the bar goes hard, I love world building and like survival roleplaying and like if you were alone in this world I’m sure you’d do that “I Am Legend” strat of talking to mannequins after no human contact for so long

I had a base in the same spot, just not as nice as yours, but with loads of Z's killed, and got bitten a day before the helicopter came...
I started a new char in the same save, right under the helicopter, got bitten before it left, started clearing the horde anyway, and the third character now resides in the base, having buried the second, with his helmet and broken sword on top of the grave. Still looking for the first who ran after the helicopter....

The question I have is how many YEARS this all took ingame?
This would take a month tops if the guy was building the base as his main goal, but if he was going through regular progression - probably 6 months-1 year
Probably the 6-12 months because you can see how much stuff he has in the containers around the base

i recently discovered there's a mod for that, remote control double doors.
They prob won’t add anything like that since zomboid likes to be more realistic

If you have the time to let me know, how did you plumb it? Just stair up to the roof, floor it all and place barrels?
Barrel must be placed right above the uh, basin or whatever u call it and have a wrench in ur hand and right click and press plumb or whatever
Water barrel right on top of a sink, or any other thing where you can refill your water containers from
Then you need a pipe wrench, not a regular wrench (that makes extra difficult, cause i mean it’s a bit harder to find cause it doesn’t spawn that frequently) then right click on the sink and “Plumb it”
That’s it! Fresh water as much as it rains and keep your water barrel filled😊
Or if you already know that and just wondering where he put the barrels, well it’s definetely on the roof for the kitchen at least, then he could have made a massive work of just refilling from that sink the water jugs on the first floor, cause it can’be a water barrel on top of them (since roof it’s still inside the building)

I started a new game yesterday and was camping at the fire station on my way to the fancy homes on the west side of town. You have inspired me to stay at the fire station and make that my base. Albeit, they already destroyed one of the garage doors... I wonder if I can replace that
I live on the constitution base i bought a microvave to the base and everything caught fire whole base burnt now i live far off in village were bus station reside

No reason to abandon the save, just make a new character
Yes and no. It feels weird sometimes. Sometimes you just need to let it go. I’m not fighting you, just speaking from an older brain.
I feel like that makes death almost meaningless when you know you've got your base and gear still. Not very immersive when your new character just replaces your old one minus the skills. That's fine in multiplayer, but in solos? no way
@@behavior2836 No if anything it'll make it harder as long as you have respawns on for Zeds
But I do get how it might make it seems pointless but I also enjoy the scavenger hunt to go make sure my previous character doesnt wander as a zombie forever
@@kptlt.phillipthomsen5973 I gotchu. I've never experienced meeting your old character but that's gotta be pretty cool lmao. But it definitely makes it a lot more forgiving when you have your stuff still, just somewhere. You just gotta read skill books and kill lots of zombies to get your skills back, that's not really a challenge just a grind.
@@behavior2836top, it feels easy when you have everything but the skills already, so you have plenty of water, food, weapons, ammo and energy, not running for your life everyday to loot while starving, but can just enjoy the full protection of a base like that and stay inside as much as you like
It feels sad everytime, but… new game, less greedy, hopefully learning from mistakes and always hardcore 1 life❤
