They were my first concert ever. Dr Feelgood tour. Warrant opened for them. At the end they had members of Skid Row and Cinderella come out and they all performed together. It was awesome. Just saw Crue over the summer with Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett. Great times.
This video ended up being the most requested video on MTV’s Countdown and then they changed it where a video could only be on the countdown for a limited amount of time. I think that rule was created because this video. It was the winning song for 30 days straight. MTV wanted it off the countdown to give other bands and solo artists a chance to be voted number one on the countdown. There’s no telling how many more times it would have been voted by fans as the best song and video on the countdown. It became the Crue Rule. Ekectra Records didn’t like the song and didn’t want it added to the Theatre of Pain album. The band payed to have it added to the album. It’s considered by many as their best song, but Dr. Feelgood is their biggest hit single which reached to number 6 on the Billboard Charts in 1989.
I've seen them 9 times and not to be a buzz kill but Vince's vocals are terrible live he's definitely a studio guy. Before anyone says it I saw shows as early as the Too Fast for Love days all the way to a few years ago and while the show was fun the vocals were 🤮

I'm 54 and 70s and 80s music was so good. It will take the rest of your lives exploring it all. I saw Motley Crue in the 80s and many others. I wish the younger generation had music and concerts that good.
This is my history. Graduated in '86. Got to see them in Tulsa, the Theatre Of Pain tour. One of the greatest times of my life. love this gen appreciating the music.
Song has a special place in the heart of almost everyone who's served in the Navy. Every time we were released to start heading home from a deployment they would play this song over the announcement system.
I saw them on the Dr Feelgood tour and it was my very first concert and it changed my life!!! I became a concert junkie. It was in Augusta GA and Tommy was arrested after the show for public nuditu and Mick Mars was arrested for being with a 15 yr old girl. They were banned from GA for years and years.
Saw them twice , iam 52 years old, there never be music wrote like it was in our generation, those days are gone and iam so proud and grateful to have gotten to experience it growing up
im 39, this type of music was my favorite as a kid. then west coast rap took my mind over. now i listen to everything. i have such fond memories of this music
I SAW THEM ON THAT TOUR IN INDIANAPOLIS AND IT WAS JAW DROPPING . IT WAS PURE ENERGY.I COULDN'T HEAR FOR 2 DAYS AND I LOVED IT. VINCE NEIL......NIKKI SIXX.......TOMMY LEE........AND THE ALIEN.......MICK MARS........TIMELESS
I highly recommend that you watch the Netflix movie, "The Dirt". It's the true story about their band and early life for a couple of the band mates. It's an excellent movie!
Please use the term "true" when referring to that movie because most of it is a load of crap...full of half truths and down lies...this is coming from a true, life long, die hard fan that knows their history
Sucks! I thought so at least. I'll give it a 6 out of 10 maybe. The timeline is way off. A 2 or 3 part mini-series could have told the story much better than an hour-and-a-half movie. It was well cast as far as Nikki and Tommy I thought too.
I'm 65. Born in 1956. So I had the privilege to hear music from the 60. 70s. And 80 s I was truly blessed with music. And love seeing young people enjoying the music I truly love
they definetly put on a show , i went to see them when whitesnake opened for them and tommy lee (drummer) had his set spin in all directions (literally 360 degrees) the lead singer is vince neil
I like their songs Dr. Feelgood and Shout at the Devil more, I've never been to big a fan of hair band ballads. If you want some other pretty good 80s metal bands I'd look into Twisted Sister (We're not going to take it), Scorpions (Rock you like a hurricane), Whitesnake (Here I go again), Kiss (Detroit rock city), White lion (When the children cry), and Quiet Riot (Cum on feel the noize).
Nice reaction, it's probably not easy hearing/seeing this for the first time ever and making heads or tails of it. On the other hand, I grew up with bands like this and went to the shows, as many as I could afford to. I've seen Motley Crue plenty of times over the years, the first time was when this song was brand new. This came out right in the middle of the heyday of 80's Heavy Metal. Back then, it wasn't just a movement it was like a religion, my friends and I were all in, big-time..
It was soooooo much fun growing up in the 80s. Tommy Lee was the absolute #1 reason I feel in love with drumming and became a lifelong drummer. Stage shows today cannot compare with what we experienced then. Yeah we looked different, but we didn't want to hurt anyone and just wanted to have a good time. For those of us that survived it, it was truly an experience we will always remember and cherish. I'm soon to be 52, and most of us have calmed down a bit now, but it was probably the most fun we ever had in our entire lives! No era can even come close!
I can honestly say that the bands of the 80's, especially the Hard Rock / metal bands, all put on fantastic stage shows. The lighting, the sets the pyrotechnics....you got a lot of bang for your buck. If you want to see a great stage show watch any of Iron Maiden's live videos from back in the 80's; now that was a band that put on a show.
@@gerardcote8391 And if you really want to see Maiden "putting on a show" check out that video from '87, when they trolled that German tv show that told them at the last minute they had to lip sync to the studio version of Wasted Years, rather than actually play the song on set. ruclips.net/video/EuIol63oAmI/видео.html Quality is... 80s mediocre, but so funny!
@@MsCatstaff now that is revenge. Never mess with people who perform live. If your a Maiden fan check out the band Lovebites, they were started by Miho and Haruna, who were members of the Fantasy Metal band Destrose. Miho was a big fan of Ironmaiden and wanted to start a group that would play Ironmaiden style music. They got 2 of the best guitarists on the planet and have some of the best solos I have ever seen. Check this out for an example Type Lovebites Scream for Me live Daughters of the Dawn, to see them play live.
So right!! If there was enough left of the band after the show to be able to walk off stage, we didn't feel we'd gotten a show. Now? Some people strut around on stage, mug at the audience and THAT is considered a show. I like how the bands of that era had to be mopped up with a towel from all the sweat afterwards the show.
One of my favorite concerts- Ratt opened for Motely Crue an I was 7 months pregnant watching the crowd break down the security barriers to reach the stage. Second time seeing them got to see Tommy’s revolving drum kit. Good times😁
Mötley Crüe was my first Concert, at the Tacoma Dome with Tesla lol when I had just turned 14, June 8th 1990. I've been to many since then, at various increasing degrees of heaviness, the Metal, until I started getting older and the last concert I went to was Tom Petty and Jackson Browne in Portland Oregon. (Clearly I've slowed down considerably lol) Anyway, I will always remember that first concert more clear and vividly than any other. It was amazing.
I love how much you guys like “Crue”! They were my favorite band and first ever concert. Girls’ Girls, Girls, Tour. Guns N Roses opened for Ghent and no one knew who they were. A couple years later Guns N Roses was the biggest band in the world.
My best friend and I saw Motley Crue at UNO arena in New Orleans… the only time I ever saw them .. and it was so GREAT!! They each gave 110% They also had backup singers that gave 110% One of the best bands of the 80s for sure!!
Saw them 3 times live!!! They were a great band in concert. You did their ballad. So please, please, please play Tesla's ballad, "LOVE SONG"!!! Do Official video. It's so great. Just make sure you have a "Fire Extinguisher" handy, cause it's, "FIRE'!!!!!
All my mom listened to was 80s hair bands and MTV was a constant at my grandmother's house. Back then it was all music, all day and was nothing like it is now. Almost all bands made videos, now it really only happens if its really popular.❤
Yes 80s. May I suggest an Australian artist. Our much beloved John Farnham. He has a big list but may I suggest. Every time you cry? Very much recommend.... Rocker group about this time... Guns and Roses, Welcome to the jungle. And if you want costumes you gotta react to KISS.
I was a teen in the 80's. I absolutely loved this band and they were hands down the best band to see in concert. Tommy Lee's Drums solos were a show themselves.
Great reaction to a great song. Just curious if you guys have Rage Against the Machine planned anytime in the future yet? If not, please add them to your list.
Motley Crue was the best loudest proudest show bar none. All of the other rockers even Ozzy saluted the Crue. I saw the 3 times and one concert was general admission without seats on the main floor. Literally standing room only. They poured Jack Daniels on the audience and we drank it and loved it. You have to see the gyro drum set that Tommy did a 5 to 10 minute drum solo in while spinning.

This video ended up being the most requested video on MTV’s Countdown and then they changed it where a video could only be on the countdown for a limited amount of time.
Wow! Watching that video again brings back great memories of going to concerts in the 80s. There will never be anything like it again!
They were PART OF THE HOLLYWOOD GLAM SCENE! GLAM METAL!
Oh the 80’s……great music just falling out of the sky, on the regular- everyone toured it seemed…..and everyone was good live. Enjoy!❤️🎼🤘😎
'Cause they could actually sing, and put on a show.
Motley Crue was the first band I saw live, AMAZING, they are my favorite of all time!!!!!!
hi jay , hi amber , they have some good songs ( kickstart my heart , smoking in the boys room , dr. feelgood , wildside ,looks that kill )
Saw them twice , iam 52 years old, there never be music wrote like it was in our generation, those days are gone and iam so proud and grateful to have gotten to experience it growing up
I was the one in the crowd lifting the crutch. Theater of Pain tour, at The Sports Arena, Toledo, OH.
im 39, this type of music was my favorite as a kid. then west coast rap took my mind over. now i listen to everything. i have such fond memories of this music
Poison "Every Rose has it's Thorn".
Yes!!!!!
Yeah, I don't get why some people laugh at Poison. They were great!
80s rock concerts were the best!! This brings back sooo many great memories ❤❤
RAM JAM... BLACK BETTY, YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!!
No, read the book.
@@tonipowell632 I did use the term "true". You're welcome..
Sucks! I thought so at least. I'll give it a 6 out of 10 maybe. The timeline is way off. A 2 or 3 part mini-series could have told the story much better than an hour-and-a-half movie. It was well cast as far as Nikki and Tommy I thought too.
@@tonipowell632 True enough
I'm 65. Born in 1956. So I had the privilege to hear music from the 60. 70s. And 80 s I was truly blessed with music. And love seeing young people enjoying the music I truly love
This band and music is my life. I’ll never let it go.
Not only my favorite band but this is also my all time favorite song.
they definetly put on a show , i went to see them when whitesnake opened for them and tommy lee (drummer) had his set spin in all directions (literally 360 degrees) the lead singer is vince neil
I also saw that show in 1988. They did put on one hell of a show. Whitesnake kicked ass as well.
Saw it in Seattle!! 🤘❤
Me too 😎👍was awesome!!!
Our pilot who was a Vietnam veteran played this song for us leaving SWA after Desert Storm. US Army 86 to 91 damn song gets me every time.
Cinderella
Skid row. By far the next best hairband
Shout at the Devil and Helter Skelter are so good
@@gdiaz8827 ohhh, Cinderella is a good one too. I was just listing off ones off the top of my head and forgot them.
@@antimatter2380 I actually like Skid Row better. I was just trying to pick bands they haven't reacted to yet.
I was born in '68. I love the '70's and alot of the '80's rock.
That was hands down the best concert I ever went to. They put on the biggest craziest show, you could imagine
What Lonny said👍🏻👍🏻
Poison--“Every Rose has its Thorn”
Maiden still puts on a show... and even at his age and after the throat cancer, Bruce still sings in the same key as back in the day. Up the Irons!
Wasted Years, my favorite Ironmaiden song.
Check this out for an example
Type Lovebites Scream for Me live Daughters of the Dawn, to see them play live.
Good times😁
Nice. I've been at a few concerts like that, were the opening act later made a name for themselves. Very cool.
When music was about going out to a show and having a great time. These guys lived it.
(Clearly I've slowed down considerably lol)
Anyway, I will always remember that first concert more clear and vividly than any other. It was amazing.
Home SWEET HOME! I live in Sweet home Oregon! This song makes me think of my hometown!! Great song!
Motley Crue is my favorite band of all time! I have seen them over 10 times. Never a disappointment!
I’m 18 years old and I LOVE rock. 60’s-80’s. Not 90’s or 2000’s. But I love Mötley Crüe. They’re my favorite band
I LOVE this song! Always gets me tearing up.
I love how much you guys like “Crue”! They were my favorite band and first ever concert. Girls’ Girls, Girls, Tour. Guns N Roses opened for Ghent and no one knew who they were. A couple years later Guns N Roses was the biggest band in the world.
I'm 51 they r my favorite band I must of seen them over 20 times 80's were the best times to grow up
My favorite. Next - Motley Crue "Dr. Feelgood"
My best friend and I saw Motley Crue at UNO arena in New Orleans… the only time I ever saw them .. and it was so GREAT!!
They each gave 110%
They also had backup singers that gave 110%
One of the best bands of the 80s for sure!!
Carrie Underwood did a cover of this and it was really good
Tommy is up there with one of the best drummers..
Yes 80s. May I suggest an Australian artist. Our much beloved John Farnham. He has a big list but may I suggest. Every time you cry? Very much recommend.... Rocker group about this time... Guns and Roses, Welcome to the jungle. And if you want costumes you gotta react to KISS.
seen them 5 times in the 80s and you are 1000 percent correct...worth every penny
I’m getting close to mid-40’s. Hair metal was the shit, still is 🤟
Me too! Mid foursixties.
I'm in my mid-40s,and because of me growing up on this music,I have my 24 yr old daughter lovin' it too💪🏼lol
I'm a young 61, and I've saw Motley Crue at least 40 times! Never disappointed!! 🤘🤘
I’m 50 the 1980’s into the early 90’s was an amazing time for rock and partying
Motley Crue was the best loudest proudest show bar none. All of the other rockers even Ozzy saluted the Crue. I saw the 3 times and one concert was general admission without seats on the main floor. Literally standing room only. They poured Jack Daniels on the audience and we drank it and loved it. You have to see the gyro drum set that Tommy did a 5 to 10 minute drum solo in while spinning.
80's Rock and Metal concerts were fuckin' off the hook!! words can't explain it
There are songs from the 80s that us in our 50s will play loudly in our cars on a nice summer night.. home sweet home is one of those songs
Absolutely true. You don't forget those concerts!!
