    i used output instead of input bcuz I wanted to hear what was happening on fl and at the same time having more control on the latency than the one I have with fl studio asio and... IT WORKS, you're the only one who says clearly what we need to do, applause and thanks

    Thank you so much for mentioning needing to press the 48v button if you're using a condenser mic! I was trying to figure out for about 39 minutes why I couldn't get OBS to pick up any sound thru my mic...all I needed to do was press that button. Saved me a lot of time!

    other obs content tutorial creators should watch this video to see how to present 'how to' instructions...! great graphics, nice even narration (not talking at 78rpm...!), clear concise instructions without assuming the viewer knows what you are talking about or showing on the screen, and a final demonstration of how to live stream connect... thank you...!

    Txs for the top explanation. Am looking for an interface for android, -means i want to sing on an android app smule or starmaker and the mobile headset (Android phone/USB C input) is not enough for a good vocal, what kind of usb / DC interface is ideal to connect the interface to a microphone then to a smartphone first. The interface could also be connected to PC or Ipad or laptop for live streaming. Do I need a mixer and a power supplied interface (as the interface without power would use the smartphone battery) Or a device like Yamaha AG06, Focusrite or Behring uc22? Txs for your kind support

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  Год назад

      If you don't have one of our interfaces with a loopback feature, this can be a tricky task, but there are ways to make it work. You can play the audio from a device like a phone or a tablet by connecting an aux chord to one of the inputs via a 3.5mm to 1/4 inch TRS cable. Or you can use a third-party internal audio routing program such as Soundflower to send route audio from Logic to the inputs in OBS. Please let us know if this helps or if you have additional questions.

      There are a couple possible causes for that. Make sure that there is nothing that could be causing interference near your interface such as a router or a phone. Hiya! I have a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 and I'm trying to hook up my stereo keyboard (L and R source or headphone jack as an alternative option) that is currently paired to inputs 3 and 4 on my dock to stream on OBS. Anything past input 2 doesn't seem to work, regardless which Tracks are toggled. In theory, I could use inputs 1 & 2, but that knocks my microphone out of the game. Is there a way I can set this up properly for my audience to hear in stereo? I'd like to use this for streaming potential BUT I also want to try using this for 'sharing screen' on Discord when using OBS as a monitoring loopback device. Thanks!

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  2 года назад

      Afraid that is a limitation of OBS - it does not currently support multi-channel ASIO driver types so will only be able to receive audio from the first two inputs of any audio device, so you will need to ensure that you connect your microphone/instrument to Input 1 or 2. You may find that a physical loopback allows you to achieve the setup that you are looking for, as explained in this article -
      support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360005040720-How-to-set-up-your-audio-interface-in-OBS-Open-Broadcaster-Software-on-Windows

    • @PeachToadstool
      @PeachToadstool 2 года назад

      @@FocusriteHelp Thanks, John. A physical loopback is how I've been doing it straight on Discord (output 2 to input 2), but that creates a mono sound, since Discord has similar limitations as OBS. However, 'Share Screen' allows whatever sound is playing (even in perfect stereo, say, from an MP3) to broadcast perfectly. Any method that will allow specific ASIO ports to loopback to DirectSound or WASAPI would work great. I've done a lot of research but I'm still stuck.

    Is there a way to separate the 1 and 2 audio channel so I can have 1 with my mic and 2 with my guitar. It's incredibly annoying how i cant use my mic at all if i want to stream the guitar audio and vice versa. Bcs the thing is ONLY audio channel 1 actually gets through to OBS and channel 2 doesnt seem to work AT ALL. And even if it did, I still want to put a VST filter (neural dsp) on my guitar audio so its not just a very mild and quite honestly, BAD clean sound, and so if I use Neural DSP to get dist, a better clean, or whatever, my MICROPHONE also gets it. I dont really feel like speaking with distortion, delay or reverb.

    This did not help me. My FocusRite is getting signal from the 1/4" that goes to a Tip and Ring RCA to my NuMark Mixtrack Platinum FX BUT my Audio Input Capture Source is not receiving signal. It's probably a settings issue either with my PC or OBS as Serato Lite does not have much settings to toy with.

    • @chrisrunoff
      @chrisrunoff 3 года назад

      I had this same issue. It seems the Scarlet treats each input as a single line. An RCA to 1/4" RCA Y cable won't work unless you unplug the left or right channel on the RCA side or get an RCA to Dual TRS and plug 1/4" into lines 1 and 2. There may be a way to correct for this in the Focusrite Control software but I wasn't able to find a setting which worked.

    I have a 8i6 interface. I am trying to route audio from my DJM900NXS2 mixer to OBS. I have the Master out of the mixer connected to the line inputs, but OBS only allows me to pick only Analog 1+2. How do I get audio from the mixer into OBS?

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  3 года назад

      You can't expand the number of inputs OBS accepts, so you will have to do some channel summing somewhere. You could run the mixer into the interface and then choose the corresponding line in OBS. You could also play around with internal audio routing software/drivers such as Soundflower or BlackHole, which would allow you to use the audio from your DAW as an input in OBS. Hope this helps.

    I’ve tried actually everything. I have a iostation24c absolutely everything in every single video I do is correct and it won’t work. I have the mic on my mic and it won’t work. My mic works it’s the apps fault. I have no idea what to do. I have a bluebird xlr condenser mic. Everything’s plugged in. Every other app works perfectly but I can’t hear my mic on any streaming thing like obs or streamlabs.
    Do you know anything else to try??

      To stream using the audio from a DAW, you need additional software to route the audio internally. Loopback, Soundflower, and BlackHole are all popular options.

    Can you use this technique to stream a session on your DAW?

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  3 месяца назад

      In theory, yes that's certainly possible. The process would be slightly different as you would need to route the DAW audio internally, using a virtual audio cable application. Common options include VB-Audio Virtual Cable (Windows), Soundflower and BlackHole (Mac). If you have a Scarlett 4th Gen audio interface this can also be achieved using the dedicated 'Loopback' feature.

      Scarlett 2i2 doesn't have a dedicated Loopback feature but if you're just looking to route audio from your DAW to OBS, you could use an application like Soundflower by Rogue Amoeba.

    Is it possible to route mic's input to external speaker using this audio interface device? Need help setting up in-person and virtual meeting on zoom at same time. So in-person participants can listen from external speaker and zoom users through zoom app. I found Mic's input is not routing to external speaker if we connect cable from Line Output to external speaker's Line In.

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  2 года назад

      If we understand you correctly, yes. That's possible. When connected to your computer and selected as the audio input/output device, Scarlett will pass all audio to and from your computer. Audio from your Zoom call will be output to headphones/speakers connected to your Scarlett. A microphone connected to your Scarlett would capture your voice for use in the Zoom call.

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  Год назад

      If you want to stream audio from a DAW, you will need to use a third party internal routing program i.e., Soundflower. This would be needed to route the outputs of Ableton, to the OBS inputs. Please let us know if this helps or if you have additional questions.

  • @1juniorarruda1
    @1juniorarruda1 2 года назад

    I might be asking a dumb question, but how to get Ableton's DAW output into OBS? The tutorial is for 2 hardware inputs, but never mention using a DAW as a back track for example.

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  2 года назад

      No such thing as a dumb question! If you have a 3rd Gen Scarlett you can use the dedicated Loopback channel to send audio to OBS. If you don't, you'll need a third-party software such as Soundflower or BlackHole to create an aggregate audio device and route the sound internally. We can help sort through this if you want to reach out - bit.ly/FocusriteSupport.

Thanks, really appreciate your support.

    • @FocusriteHelp

      It's a little complicated, but there are some VST plugins and other software/driver options out there that can internally route audio so that you can use your DAW's output as an input in OBS. We don't have a specific recommendation for which one to use, as that depends on your OS and your goals, but you'll find many options if you search "how to use DAW output as audio input in OBS".
