Thanks for the video, very helpful information. Quick question would you alter the height of the snare if there was some brush or something overhead that would cause the bigger animals to duck under? Also if your not on level ground, say on a bank, how would you change the measurements?
great question and the answer is yes, stay tuned for the next couple weeks i have a great video on just that. for a duck under set i put the bottom of the loop half way between the duck stick and the ground.
and on a slope i try and split the difference...
Could be used to catch Catalytic Converter Crooks too!👍
Oh yeah!
Rule of thumb is set snare height equal to loop diameter
10" loop means 10" off the ground and so on
Great comment...real good advice
What was the Bob cat height?
i set cat snares about the same as fox 8 or so
Do you have a video from start to finish
of what?
Can you show sets and then catches in the sets in same vid
Good idea...I'll see what i can do...
. tossed on snaring seen a buddy of mine catch a few deer and I'm torn on that I deer hunt.
simple fix, any area with deer, i use a breakaway snare....the force of a deer pulls the snare apart and they are free, i loose a snare, but the deer is un-harmed
Seriously? Nothing better to do?
