    This is my second year trapping, and I just got access to a bridge. I set a few similar sets yesterday for the opener. I'm using 110s. Hopefully the mink pile up! Good luck on your line and thanks for the info!

    So you attached the one end of the wire to the stake and then the the other end to swivel or chain on trap? And the animal will naturally go to the water?

    • @NBWildman
      @NBWildman  3 года назад +2

      typically yes a mink will head for protection..which in this case is water, if not..it's the only direction the trap will move, so as the try and free themselves the trap will move toward the water and the mink will go in

      I have video dedicated to how to do drowning rigs and slide wires. it's on the channel in the trapping section

    Why run drowning sets? It seems like so much to carry around and a lot to do for just one set

    • @NBWildman
      @NBWildman  5 лет назад +1

      it's the law here, leg hold for mink have to be secured on drowning wires.

      you can get drowning rods and they have been know to drown foxes and coyotes that come to the bank and manage to fall in the water

    hope there are not many house pets running free

      @NBWildman  3 года назад +1

      It would surprise you just how many there are....cats especially

    • @jameslarson4570

      House pets shouldn't be running free. Especially cats

    • @geraldlong4607
      @geraldlong4607 3 года назад +1

      They aren't house pets if they aren't in the house, hence "house" pets. If they are in the wild then they are considered feral.

      @@NBWildman raccoon are not human scent shy , but set a minkset barehanded and see how many you catch , mink are very sensitive to human scent . ok to do in a water scent as long as you dont touch the bank. I wouldnt call myself a trapper if I set a set like that with an open trap!!!!
