There is an easier way to split put the channels to audio. If you use a producer kit, just highlight all the tracks in the main window that you want to convert to audio and hit Control + Command + B to bounce the TRACKS in place. This will bounce them straight onto new tracks in the main window instead of you needing tto drag them back in again. This works with non=producer kits too if you make them a multi output channel or if you make the drummer regions all one region, then convert to midi region, then split the region by notes, then select all the tracks you want as audio and do the same key command to bounce the tracks in places. :) Thanks for the video!!! I would not have thought of this if you hadn't made it.
This is certainly a bit more efficient, but the export option gives you a bit more control the bounce doesn't give you (for those that are a bit nitpicky). An even better way would be to do the export as described in the video but select the option to add the files to the project browser. It is essentially a bounce in place but with the export command and you can drag from the project browser tab into the session. You can completely ignore where you saved the exported files because they'll be in the project already and you can properly save stems at the end if that's how you prefer to work. Just sharing some other ways to do this and thanks for sharing yours OP!
@@martinlin621 dumb luck really! I wasn’t sure ifbit would follow another drum loop, but it absolutely does. It’s my way of using an existing drum loop without actually having it in the song. It works amazing! Also, I start every song with drums. For a live feel, instead of quantizing, I set the drummer track as the groove track, then set the bass, and chords, etc.. to follow the drummer track. It sounds more like a live band
This was a great tutorial, thank you! I did just that on a current project, using Drummer throughout the track, Gavin/Indie Rock with the "Brooklyn" Producer Kit. The process worked as expected, all good there but oddly enough, the resulting multi tracks, once back into Logic, sound a bit different than the original Drummer track (which I mute/unmute to compare). Maybe I'm overlooking a small detail, and I even level matched everything between the volumes of each element in the track stack and it's related rendered audio file. It doesn't sound bad, just feels like some subtle ambience missing (even though OH, ROOM A and B, LEAK and PUMP audio files are all in there), I would say mostly it's the snare that seems to have lost something. Everything sounds a bit more stiff and kind of dry compared to the original Drummer track stack. Any ideas?
Great video as always, thank you! I have a problem with this method tho, correct me if I’m wrong here: Those sends that were on some channels (like some default reverb or things like that) don’t get blended with the track, right? You get the wet tracks if you don’t bypass them, which is nice, but you can’t get the sends automatically blended in or am I missing something? Cause I always find myself having to create tracks for those sends and manually blending them with the track itself, is there an easier way? Thank you again!
Hi josh.. Can you please give a demo regarding how to do this for superior drummer n other 3rd party vsts.. Is it just by loading it in multi output mode or is there something else?
Hi, been a subscriber of the channel and have gained a lot of knowledge from your brilliant expertise. I’m extremely grateful to you for doing this! What I keep wondering is that you hardly ever seem to use the “control + s” functionality to solo tracks or regions. Is there a specific reason to it? Much love and regards, #abhikism 🙏
Is there any way to export the multi channel drum sounds without the drummer pattern, and then be able to use these sounds in another DAW (Luna for example) by playing them via midi ? Thanks
Like the individual samples? Yes, but it's a lot of work. You'd have to record 1 of each drum sound, and then also account for velocity layers and alternating samples, export them as audio, then re-build them in another sampler instrument in Luna. You're probably better off just investing in a 3rd party drum instrument, and using it in Luna.
This is great, I never thought of trying this! Does anyone know how to have more control over the cymbal panning though? It seems they are only going through the overheads so it affects the hi-hat and ride (and probably other parts of the kit). The cymbals are a bit too hard panned for my liking but I can't fix it!! Help!
Would it be helpful to change the panning setting in the mixer to "stereo pan" instead of "balance"? "balance" being the normal panning mode... "control click" ON the PAN knob to find "stereo pan".... you'll be able to pull in the edges with that.
@@jim1664 Let me know... I hope it helps. So much to learn! I'm watching vids and trying new arranger things right now (and I've been recording/producing/mixing for years)... PEACE
I know this isn't the same subject but do you have a video that explains how to do this on Logic? ruclips.net/video/AnIpmDO0tyk/видео.html I've seen a couple of your looping videos but I didn't see (or maybe I missed it) how you can take an acoustic sample like a guitar harmonic and turn it into a playable loop making it it's own instrument.
Great video but you really are flying, need to slow down a bit for beginners. Selected tracks and went to File save, how you got the tracks selected? Not a good way to teach man.
Exactly. He is just freaking flying without exactly showing where is is doing what. As new to logic or being a rookie this is just a waste of time for me at this point.

I've been struggling how to do this for such a long time thanks again. I don't understand how this Video didn't show up in my notifications.
DUDE, you are the man.. I really needed this.. Thank you so much..
Great tutorial. I watched three others on the same subject. Yours was by far the easiest to follow and understand. Thanks
Thaaaaaank Yoouuuuu!!!! I love the Logic Kits but this was my one complaint and I didn't know how to do this you are the BEST!!!
Holy crap! I had no idea you could do that! This is a game changer for me!
Music tech help guy . . . definitely up there in my top 2 go to logic gurus .
The split by note pitch and bounce tracks in place works with 3rd party drum instruments too like Addictive drums or Steven Slate Drums.
Thx MTHG. saving me lots of headache once again.
I was juuuust wondering how to do this thank you
Great stuff, man
Excellent video, can't wait to try it out. So cool
Thank you for showing us this. 🙏George
Thank you so much for this tutorial and explanations. 👍👏
Thank you for making this
Thank you so much for this! Very helpful!
This is great!
Awesome work, thanks
I find a drum loop I like on splice, drag it in, and have drummer follow the loop, to create a very similar drum loop that I can customize
Wow it’s so smart

Amazing. Thanks
thank you very much Sir.
in part 2 of the lesson, I got as far as exporting the 5 tracks and deleting the origional.... but where the heck is the file to import back in😄
Thank you👍
when export them where do they go? where do i find them to drag them back into logic? Thx
So weird. I did EXACTLY ALL this, less than a week ago when mixing a song for a client. Pleased to see you use the same methods.
Thank you!!!

Can I do this with the step sequencer? Great video btw :)
Have tried this way and bounce but with both new tracks are out of time and I can’t figure out why - any suggestions much appreciated.
I have trouble finding the ride. if i convert to midi you can edit in main, but doesnt have a track for its self like a kick or snare, and such.
Do you answer musical queries on your website? I have a question regarding a particular vocal effect

It's actually just "S" not "control S" and I use it all the time! Also Option S will toggle solo, which is helpful when A/B'ing different tracks.
Thanks
Hey man, great content as always! Just wondering if you're planning on continuing that Serum series you started awhile back?
Does it work the same with NI Studio Drummer or other Kontakt instruments? Can u do a tutorial on that??
How i can do the same bounce from kontakt multichannel drum library?
You can also just bounce them in place. No need to export and reimport.
Is this possible after programming drums in the step sequencer
Is there a quick way to do this with midi drums? ...bounce out each stem to audio
