Last time we built a Death Star using the new weapons in Warfare 2, this time we build STARKILLER BASE. With nearly 400 Railguns, anything in it's path is immediately deleted. In this video I test my ultimate weapon vs ships, asteroids, planets and even the Death Star itself!
Is there anything else you'd like to see, let me know with a comment!

Space Engineers is a voxel-based sandbox game set in space and on planets, developed and published by Czech independent developer Keen Software House. In 2013, the initial developmental release of the game joined the Steam early access program. During the following years of active development, Space Engineers sold over one million units. In total as of 2019 the game has sold over 3.5 million copies In May 2015, for approximately a year and a half, the game's source code was officially available and maintained by KSH to assist the modding community. On December 15, 2016, the game entered Beta and was later officially released on February 28, 2019.
The game is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration and survival in space and on planets. Players build space ships, space stations, planetary outposts of various sizes and uses, pilot ships and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive.

So, which is better, Prequels, Sequels or Equels?
Anything except episode 9 is an acceptable answer.
@@copter2000 I dunno, episode 1 is pretty bad 😜
@@Zer0sLegion To be honest. Half of star wars movies are bad.
@@copter2000 Truer word never said
I prefer the original trilogy
You can still go even larger. In W40K there's a thing called a "world engine", it's a Necron superweapon the size of a planet - and this time they actually mean "planet".
The game was struggling with my 100 block sphere, we're going to struggle with a planet sizes weapon 😅
YES! PLEASE! BY THE EMPEROR'S WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN! 😅
@@Zer0sLegion well, time to invest in a super computer....
@@MrJackfriday brb, getting a job at NASA
@@Zer0sLegion I don’t care. Get a better computer and make it happen right now
Could you imagine the horror of meeting this in a server... somehow, despite obvious practical limitations.
The laser alone was above the PCU limit but I would like very much to do this.
Teammate: "uh, the fps has dropped down to -1"
????: "negative? Run its a trap!"
Facing this in a server would be horrific.
Just screams of “it’s looking at me, why’s it looking at me? OH GOD! RUN!”
for that reason i would call the weapon "server-killer" instead (:
I love how the game just deletes the grids instead of calculating damage
3:34 lol imagine that thing rising up over the horizon above your beautiful base.
It would be terrifying!
But pretty cool, ngl
It would be like that one scene from rogue one
Problem with lasers moving the ship? Just build a pulsar star! It fires both ways so that's taken care of
I was gonna say something about everyone in the death star/starkiller base dying do to the recoil.. actually no I think it would still kill everyone due to the lasers probably not firing perfectly in sync
@@jacthing1 if it's rail guns yea it'll probably squeeze the planet so tight it breaks the crust around it on both sides as magma fills the area but if it's a lazer like it's imagined to be then the recoil would be miniscule
@@NoSubsWithContent oh it wouldn't miniscule, someone did the math on it. With how much energy it would take to blow a planet apart and not have it reform. The recoil would kill everyone on board from the g-forces they experience. Edit: video ruclips.net/video/K6-q2edmiGk/видео.html
you can use supergridding to put large railguns on small grids, the railguns will look like large ones, but only take as much space as a small one. So you can put them much closer together
Yeah, I been made aware.
Maybe make it so they all fire with a slight delay from one another, effectively making a pulse beam. that might make it more destructive actually
I love the momentary pause and bright flash right before the target evaporates. Like being struck with Balefire
Fun fact, the starkiller is actually just the terreformed Ilum. Ilum is a very "holy" planet for the jedi, since it has so many kyber crystals. Guess what a giant starkilling planet laser gun needs? That's right! A shitload of kyber crystals.
No it's not, star killer was a planet in the unknown region not ilum, ilum is still around but it was badly strip mind under imperial rule.
@@Raptorrex65 Ilum is that strip mine.
It is Ilum. In Jedi: Fallen Order after you've done the story campaign and return to Ilum, you can see how it's being turned to a planet killer.
There is a far stronger weapon still: the Celestial Array of the Necrons in Warhammers 40k is capable of causing any star to go super nova anywhere in the milkyway galaxy at any time by simply touching the star with your finger in its real time high definition holographic map.
I wonder what you could do with supergridding it. like not even starkiller platform size, but the same amount or more railguns in a small space. Just absolutely remove a ship.
I've seen people use supergriding but I'm not too familiar of how it works myself, I think it's time for some research 🧐
@@Zer0sLegion there isnt much on youtube about it because not many people understand what it is.
This is how to do it though.
You save any kind of large grid block as a blueprint, just one though.
Then you open the blueprint file by renaming it to .zip and extracting it with any kind of software you'd like, WinRaR worked for me.
Rename the file you got to .xml, then open the .xml in any kind of xml editor, i used notepad++ for this.
Find where it says something about grid size : "Large".
Change that to grid size : "small"
Then, save the file, rename it to (blueprint name).sbc
Then get ingame, copy the blueprint to clipboard and you have your very own large grid block that you can paste on small grid ships, which you can use to paste veery high density railguns onto a rotor.
Hope that helps
@Derek Blue hmmm? Why?
Same! Two was too many!
@@Zer0sLegion hmm, we could make some truly scary contraptions together if we tried ;)
Somebody get this man a super computer. We need more action!
won't work because space engineer's only uses 8 cores so even if he had more the game won't use them
Now put a rotator at the bottom and make it a turret lol. Universe's most powerful stationary turret capable of destroying planets within 800meters range
This is the dream, blowing up planets with my star destroyer!
Have you ever wanted to see a pc turn to a puddle of molten metal? Well have I got the idea for you
Players seeing this would be shouting NOOOOO! Not because they are going to be destroyed but the lag they are going to get.
It's the ultimate weapon because of the lag!
@@Zer0sLegion They can’t fight if they can’t play the game!
that's no lag, it's the disturbance in the force.
This is the kind of content we need more of lol
True!
You sir, are insane. A prefect fit (and a welcome addition) to the SE community!
Is your explosive railgun mod on the workshop? You know.. for strictly scientific purposes!
Not yet, i'm trying to find the right balance between lag and explosive damage
@@Zer0sLegion You're likely to not find a good balance honestly. Lag is just too system specific to really tune for it (beyond not insta-crashing SE lol), and no matter how you tune it, folks will just scale the number of cannons up/down to achieve the destruction they want.
Honestly, my suggestion is to find a level destruction per cannon you want it to have, and go from there.
If you're trying to limit weapon spam killing the sim-speed, what you might want to do instead, is to use the block type limit settings in the block definition files.
Damn, was really hoping you would show all those blocks fall down to the planet and hit the surface lol
great video!
I have the footage, maybe a second channel video?
@@Zer0sLegion sure!
ok so that reddit pixel count estimation is scary accurate as the exact size of starkiller base is
660 kilometers
I didn't think it had a canon size, if i'd know that, it would have saved me a lot of time lol.
@@Zer0sLegion well starkiller base is actually the former jedi world known as illum which has an exact size
In my testing of the rail guns a single one can puncture something like 23 blocks and still damage a hydrogen tank, or 4 layers of heavy armor. Most ships are not layered in 4 heavy full blocks to protect them cuz it would be to heavy to move lol so it's just a matter of knowing where to fire to do incredible damage, and the small ones can be used with a script on some rotors to function as literal turrets as well altough I couldn't find a design proper enough to really protect them mainly from other rail guns, let alone other types of fire they are so bulky.
One of the RUclips streamers determined that railguns penetrate voxels but then strike the INSIDE on their way OUT. In case that helps answer your questions. Cool video in any case.
Here's a challenge, make the Stonehenge from ACE COMBAT series!
tl;dr its a railgun battery consisting of 8 railguns that fires 12cm shells at ridiculous speeds, originally used to destroy the giant debris of a giant asteroid that was on crash course on earth but usually was used to shoot down aircrafts.
Might be difficult to hit small craft with a railgun but I can give it a go!
@@Zer0sLegion well, one of its most famous uses was to shoot down the Arsenal Bird, which is by no means "small" :D
@@Zer0sLegion *laughs in X-02S*
This video reminds me of the old "How Not To be Seen" by Monty way back in the day.. How you kept running to a next clip, "And this is is the hole, and this is his pirate base, and this is..." Good Stuff sir!
And now for something completely different.
"Well, we're still flying half a ship - never mind..."
At 2:08
Obi-Wan: we are still flying half a ship.
alternatively, build a suncrusher. small ship capable of blowing up a sun
God imagine you're playing Space Engineers, chilling, mining. You've got a decent-sized asteroid base...
Then some asshole rocks up in a freaking planet and just deletes you, your base, and the asteroid in one shot.
this video in a nutshell:
"Gone, reduced to atoms"
“hey check out that base down there”
[fires]
“what base”
*insert astronaut "never has been" meme*
i think a railgun slope pit might make sense as it is a massive hole for the actual thing
The Little Doctor would make quick work of everything in Star Wars and it fits on a ship.
3:35 ez earth start = lol
4:56 hey look it became death star 2 for a moment.
And then it becomes both Death Stars after that!
Imagine you're on a multi server and someone pulls up in a death star
3:11 -"You can't just shoot a hole into the surface of the asteroid!"
Build the german Schwerer Gustav, it was a railway gun with a range of 47km (or 29miles) its caliber was 800mm (80cm). Would be nice to see it in Space Engineers
Upload the blueprint plssss
I love this
It's coming, just ironing out the issues with it
Evil comes in round shapes
Okay that debris at the end was very cool though
This is the destruction I Need
Death Star but it’s filled to the brim with warheads (active) so if the other one shoots it will detonate almost like to normal death star in the moovie
How do you think I made the thumbnail 😉
@@Zer0sLegion heh
I’d like to see you make a juggernaut from stellaris
Strike craft and all
Even a munitions plant to bombard places on a planet.
3:35 I introduce you to the top selling gadget to our space cadets! With thw new DELETE-A-BASW you can delete those pesky enemies with just one shot!
combine it with that reentry mod that burns things entering the atmosphere
Ah! This looks like a Death Star!
You call that a Weapon? I call that a Mining Tool.
This is so much better than the Death Star. Honestly, if you kept shooting on that planet, you eventually would be able to go through it and technically collapse its atmosphere, so Starkiller Base turned out to be a much more lore-accurate weapon.
I think it would take a very, very long time to shoot a hole in a planet though 😅😅😅
@@Zer0sLegion Have you ever tried doing it?
Imagine flying a ship through the planet itself.
*-Because -**_-I-_**- can't-*
@@danielawesome36 I could give it a go, it'd be a fun challenge no the less
well thats one way to go overkill
That's no moon! *gets catered*
may klang have mercy on our soul
IMA FIRIN MAH LASAAAH
This thing with that mod is basically Ctrl+alt+F+U
I’d like to see this in a pvp server, don’t know why, but I need to see you destroy an entire fleet in a nanosecond
Soon!
@@Zer0sLegion 😳
reminds me more of a torpedo sphere

I'm some what of a Stellaris fan myself.
@@Zer0sLegion hah.
Good to see
Gone reduced to atoms
MORE!
MORE!
Steady on there Tarkin.
Sorry, I can't hear you of the explosion of Alderan
I'm a game developer and I'm making a game that will have a lot of the mechanics that space engineers have. To reduce lag you can start with already large ships and build onto them. My game will also include a planetary laser so yes someone could make a death Star but I will not add a death Star to my game or Star wars stuff. I will just add everything so someone else can build it so I don't get sued. It wasn't me Star wars.
I didn't build the death Star it was this guy. Lol. So there will be a death star in my game I can almost guarantee. Well at least all of the parts will be laying around.
Look forward to seeing it
@@Zer0sLegion by the way the game will be free. With the exception of some aesthetic items will be paid for. But if you use code 420 then you can get them for free 😎
alternate idea, make a gatling railgun with the custom turret controller.
👀
That was fantastic!
The video thumbnail reminds me of episode called "Fortress vs Fortress" in the anime, Legends of the Galactic Heroes.
This was spectacular. Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sort of looks like the bioblitorator from Rachet and Clank 3. Oh also what about a rotating cylinder of rail guns for faster firing.
It was originally going to spin, as that's a good trick!
@@Zer0sLegion I was thinking more multiple sets of rail guns rotating on an axis where it fires, rotates out those rail guns for fresh ones and fires again. Shaped like a cylinder, so 4 sets or 8 of rail guns if you have 2 sub grids offset by 90 degrees, if there’s space. Like a revolver but instead of firing forward it fires radially.
i dont know if it works anymore building a gravity drive out of a few artificial gravity generators but if it does work you could build a creation of any scale and it would have all axis of movment with out the lag.. a buddy in a server i used to constant made a moon core'er that was.. it was big enough to drill a .5km hole round.
Funnily enough, you might see gravity drives on this channel sooner than you think...
'Tis glorious!
Aka: THE YEET DELETE
New way to mine to make a base
We shall watch your career with great interest
Nice reference!
@@Zer0sLegion thank you :D
Star killer base was built inside a planet, so they drove a planet around shooting other planets.
I'm not sure they moved it, I'm pretty sure they just fired across the galaxy. Either way, it's a pretty big flex
this was great.
That was insane haha loved it!
Glad you did!
So you know the Deathstar 11 Pro Max?
Now do the Stakiller base 11 Pro Max!
I didn't realize Ilum was that small.
I have a feeling it was retroactively made Ilum
Great content man!
Thank you!
I don’t know what this game is and I just watched this and it seems Epic.
They should have secondary exploisons in vanila game
I reconize the music in the background. Its called "Dispersion Relation"
It is, it's just sped up
Imagine the klang railguns on this...
Ok yeah that’s cool, but how about you build a planet mining machine? Or a giant metal worm?
Sped up jobby the Hong music has me geekin
In SE planets can have a diametre of up to 120km. someone could turn a planet into a real-size death star hehehe
My computer is melting at the thought of this 😓😓😓
put a railgun gatling gun in the center
Now to begin some random npc encounters with this "ship"... hehe
Is it possible to reflect the Railgun shots together? I saw a video where subgridded armor doesnt take damage and reflects railgun shots
Apparently that's a bug so it'll probably get patched soon
Awesome video man, very entertaining :)
Thank you!
first it goes boom. and then there is no more anything
Now witness the firepower of this fully ARMED and OPERATIONAL battle station!
heh, the one who calculated the diametre of the Starkiller base probably didnt know that it used to be know as the planet Ilum and is well documented in the wookiepedia with a diametre of 660km. I mean kudos for getting it this close!
That post is from when the Force Awakens had just come out and I'd prefer to use a usual representation from the films rather than information outside of it.
I mean you absolutely should have done this in atmosphere to see if the beginning shots crippled the ships drive
They fall into the planet in the video... I show that.
Great video!
Thanks!
I dont know why but my computer suddenly sounded like a jet engine while watching this video
Huh, weird. Mine sound like it making the video...
@@Zer0sLegion 🤣 allso big heater for cold months
What if you fire in salvo and nit all at one? You can creat a longer trace like the original in the movie
I made game developer making a game like space engineers. Except in mine you can do giant intergalactic battles like in Star wars.
Is there something in space engineers that they don't have that you really wish was in a Game? Cuz I can add that thing to my game and it will be badass. Yes my game will have a laser that blows up planets. Got that one.
I think i might know what stand this guy uses
ZA HANDO *ship deletes*
Overkill
Oh no the death orbs
If you bring the 6 death orbs together, you can build the death gauntlet!
cool rig
i wonder what this would do against a shield mod
Knowing the shield mod, it would probably do zero damage.
