Ahhh bugga it, throw caution to the wind and buy one with lots of gadgets, welcome to the world of bigger boys toys Tim
Hey Tim, you should vlog the trip and experience at the CAT place. That would be an awesome video
Yes Definitely 💯
That's what I did today. Should be out tonight or tomorrow morning 🙌
@@turfandtools When did you say it'll be released? I'm keen as.
I'm not allowed to have a mini excavator. All my family and friends know that if I was to own one, I would use it for everything. Need to plant some basil? Excavator. Need the rubbish taken out? Excavator.
Need to clean the gutters? Excavator. Need the washing off the line? Excavator.
Wouldn't get me off it.
Great podcast, Tim and Carthic. Really enjoy the updates on how your lawns are doing. Yes, get the excavator. It will come in handy and be so useful at your new place.😊
Unless you have a clear project in mind and a specific machine needed, or a lot of ongoing work, buying a machine, esp. one that is not suitable or undersized or underpowered, or without the right attachments would be premature. You are better off hiring the right machine, with the right attachments, as needed. You could buy a cheap Chinese thing, but that would be a false economy, for a number of reasons, but esp. if you don't have the attachments needed, or can even get them to fit. It seems exciting to get a big toy, but a brand-name (Cat, Bobcat) skid steer would probably be a more general purpose unit, and has a range of attachments (chain trenchers, post hole augers, mulchers, buckets, blades, forklift forks etc. you can buy or hire. You'll find that over time, you will want a big mower most of all... a 60" Zero Turn will get the bulk of the work done quickly. Look at what the councils are using to get their parks and ovals done... and try to buy Aussie made unit if possible... everyone sold makes a difference... don't invest in a big problem that is just looking for a solution... Look at some of the reports and videos on YT about the Chinese rubbish you might be looking at... BTW, you are going to need that truck back... One of the first things you should be spending money on as an acreage owner is a water trailer and a firefighting pump... one day you might need it, and too late to go get one when you do...
If you do get a hydraulic thumb mate,
they sound good! Video of today will be out tonight or tomorrow morn.
Great podcast guys. Can you rate the Cox Scarifier, if so how?
Takeuchi Australia is japanese and very reliable my mate has one to and its reliable to and tough . the one your looking at 4 times more plus expansive
So, being a contractor and running my own business, I would buy any equipment under my business. Based on usage and the numbers of hours I need it for, it rarely makes sense to buy one of these new. Buy one that’s been refurbed. Get one with about 1000 hours on it. Treat every dollar like a businessman. Don’t spend it if you can’t recoup the cost over its lifecycle.
Kubota u17-3 all the way.
You do realize annual means yearly?
This was the 11th yearly episode for 2024. 😆
Yes. We do these podcasts Yearly but they are filmed weekly. Hope that helps
@@turfandtools 👌
Are there end of year tax time sales? Thought about Chinese one but not sure in the reliability.
I’m not sure on the sales
I was at the lawn catchup with Benton and ben too
🙌
Also Tim, before I forget, when do the regular vlogs come back? Will they be regular again?
1-2 ton caterpillar 300.9D or a 301.5 or a 301.CR. Yes! Also get a post hole auger. Check out all the attachments.
Mini Chinese digger is more affordable for your viewers 🤔 but the rock there you might need a 10t + machine.
Buy a Takeuchi they are the most value mini excavator tough as teak the little buggers.
owning one is expensive just lease one the hinesse one we had levers broke and hoses
Ahoj Time, opět vám přeji úspěšný podcast a hezký den👍👍🌿Jana 🌿👋😊
Yes, I want one as well, but it might be a better option to rent
Was happy to see your Masport back in action, Tim, and now hearing about the rye seed update, I’m excited to see how that keeps going through the winter for you. I have PacNW fescue, which contains a variety of rye/Kentucky because of the cooler temps through most of the year. Only issue is when it gets over 80F (~27C) it will brown very quickly. I will consider the lawn tinting this summer 😉👍
You and me both!
5t good size for rock breaking and like you said when your building your house there it’s perfect for the site works side of it
More landscaping needs. I don't have house building skills... actually I don't have landscaping skills come to think of it 😂
Looking forward to more robot mower content !
Just picked up the Ecovacs goat to try at my place.
