The red cover acts as duct to send air off the flywheel vanes through the cooling fins on the cylinder. Without it your engines going to run hot. 30 years exp on small engine repairs & servicing. I would put it back on with non Chinese bolts & either spring lock washers or locktite if you want it to last.
I can’t believe I’ve never googled what a spring lock washer does. Always seen them in packs and thought they just told you once it was at the right tightness but just watched a video on them and realise it puts pressure on the nut to stop it turning
@@BowdenBuilders Honestly got loads of advice for dealing Chineseium machines. They never torque the bolts to tight due to poor steel & snapages, plastics & rubber components perish quickly from lack of UV protection . Poor waterproofing on electric components. Some stuff you just need to upgrade instead of replacing with parts from the manufacturer e.g Starter motor, grease nips etc. Daily checks.. engine oil, hyd oil, grease all pivots, tension tracks & a visual check over goes a long way
Get an old car mat or bit of wood over that battery, if that floors touching the red and the rest of the body it’ll basically be a dead short to the battery so it’ll drain it fast and damage it as well after so long
Yeah only noticed it last time we used it. Planning to weld a bracket on or a door hinge maybe so we’ve got access but it’s more sturdy! I’m learning more about batteries than I thought 😅
Hi mate for a 1 ton digger that's done good for you one thing is you do need to luck after them otherwise you get the issue your having but wat you paid for it u can't go wrong and also if your doing extension and it's tight to get round the house 9 out if ten times least you no it will fit round the side of the house good video 🧱👌
