Really well thought out plans. I like that you explain your thought process, for example, when the answer questions while you are teaching, therefore include children in teacher led lessons
Love the vlogs! I really liked the idea of including the pictures with the words and having a sheet students can fill out while you go through the info. I also teach GCSE Biology and find it quite difficult to balance teacher led vs student led. I find I talk a lot just because there is so much information to get through, but giving them questions which they can actively look out for while I talk will hopefully help.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know of a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost the account password. I love any tricks you can offer me
@Nasir Callum Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Another fantastic vlog and so helpful for other teachers. I am currently planning my MTP and doing some lesson planning for this new academic year this has been very helpful. Thank you
I really like this topic as it can give rise to some really good discussions and practical activities (irrespective of COVID); having a student role play as doctor and patient, having them pick diseases/ illnesses out of a hat is always such good fun and can be hilarious when they go all in! Great for AfL too.
Hiya! Yes, RAG stands for those colours. I get my students to reflect and show me where they are at with their learning. I always tweak that end slide closer to the time of delivering the lesson so that it includes questions, statements, etc. It's an important part of metacognition and encouraging student reflection, but also important for me before the next lesson.
I subscribed and liked with notifications on ma’am! I’m a year 10 student in the uk too and I really want to be a teacher when I’m older! This is awesome to learn from you on how to do lesson planning and you seem like a awesome teacher with how you do everything! I was wondering if you would allow toilet breaks during your class? My teachers told me that they don’t allow toilet breaks during class. The main chance i get to use it is during lunch! I stay well hydrated so I need to go more often as a kid if you understand me. Yesterday I was really desperate for the toilet and I had been holding it in for 1.5 hours and it was 25 minutes until I got my chance to go. I asked my teacher and she said no😭.
I can imagine it being difficult to manage toilet breaks in the day. Try to go before your first lesson, at break and lunch times and if it's still not enough, speak to a senior member of staff so they can advise you. I'm sure no one would want you to be uncomfortable throughout the day!
broken chalk I’m going to listen to you ma’am and use the toilet before first lesson, breaks and lunch!! If it’s not enough I’ll talk to my senior member of staff to advise me! Do you think I may be able to go to class early during class transitions and ask my teacher if may use the toilet before the bell rings? Thank you so much ma’am for the advice! You honestly really helped me plan out my toilet breaks better and you honestly saved my bladder from having to hold it for awhile and now I don’t have to be uncomfortable anymore😂👏🏻. I’m going to use your advice tomorrow and I’ll let you know how it goes ma’am!!

I'm the same, my natural instinct is to be more teacher-led so I find this helps :) Glad you're loving the vlogs! x

Hello, What is the "RAG" slide at the end of your lessons?
I understand Red Amber Green - how does this apply to your lessons
Hiya! Yes, RAG stands for those colours. I get my students to reflect and show me where they are at with their learning. Hi can you please where can we find ready to go resources and presentations ?
Hiya! TES has lots and also check twitter - there are lots of educational pages that share their resources as google drive links.
I thought you did a PGCE in Chemistry?
Howcome you're doing a lesson on Biology?
