- 2010 Moto Guzzi V7 Classic with Mistral Exhaust,YSS shocks and BT45 tires. A mix of riding on a local mountain with a top speed run at the end. It goes 105 fairly quick then creeps another 5. I'm 5'11' and 225 lbs so the bike does well for 45HP. I have several bikes and this one is always fun to ride.

I find myself in that position with most bikes. The V7c is what it is, not a sportbike or a big block standard. It is a 400 lb 40 hp motorcycle that is very fun to ride and does most things well. I have an 1100 California, 1100 Sport Ballabio, 1100 Quota but am never disappointed when riding the V7c.
I have the 2009 in pearl white as well. I always get looks on it. It's fun bike to ride and really easy to handle.
Beautiful bike, beautiful ride and a visceral sound. Thanks for sharing.
great video, I enjoyed it, perfect capture of sound too
Wonderful sound! I've been thinking of getting one of these as a companion to my 1960 Triumph T100S 500cc machine, but was worried the V7 didn't have enough power. However you're riding in the exact conditions I would want, and seem to be powering without issue.
I'm about 270-lb (123kg) and my V7II has no trouble hauling me, whipping up to 70+ in no time at all., it's the torque and the long, long power band.
I find the Avon Roadriders a serious upgrade, very confident grip in all conditions, so unlike the stock Pirelli Sport Demons, also considered an upgrade to BT45 on Bonnies.
I agree about the Pirelli tires and chose them exclusively when I lived in Southern Calif. but the roads here in Arizona are very abrasive due to chip sealing and of course the heat is an issue so they wear very quickly. BT45s have the duel compound and seem to be better suited to the local roads here. I do miss the feedback feel of the Demons though but havent had any squirrly moments with the Bridgestones and easily get double the wear.
I've had issues with Pirellis trying to kill me with broken belts and thrown treads including their top-end P-Zero car tyres, not to mention poor grip in the dry and lethal in the wet, and they wear fast. Having ridden both on the same bike, the feedback from the Roadriders is probably better than the Sport Demons, even after going airborne and having the traction control kick in the Roadriders bite back into the road and don't squidge and shuffle about. They've got a higher speed rating and they wear well, I shall be upset if I don't get at least 20,000 miles out of them; I've got a set on another bike with 4000+miles on them only just beginning to show some wear.
True it doesn't get so hot here in England but we do have some awful roads with potholes and patches missing, yours look pretty good in comparison.
Thanks for the input Jeff. 20,000 mi is unheard of with anything but car tires for me. I've never done Avon but have heard good things about them. I have 4 guzzies and the problem with Guzzi is the wheel sizes and having shaft drive make tire selection difficult. Guzzies do rule the back roads though :-)
Nice sound and great road!
I look at your video once a day (minimum). Thanks for that ;)
Thank you pal. I can't think of a better complement.
Be you always satisfied of this nice V7?
what a sound
+Michael Skoufis pitbull?
Nice sound!!
Something happened and the comments were lost but the answer about the fairing is there and to Kien, thanks pal.
If I can make it out that way sometime I surely will. The way I found your page was searching for V7 vids, as I'm very interested in that bike right now, and it's at the top of my buy list. I'm also curious to see what else may be revealed at the EICMA show on Nov. 5th.
Beautiful! :)
My favority video about a V7... what kind of exhaust do you have in the machine? thanks
Mistral exhaust Roberto and thanks for your kind words.
Great video! I'm thinking of buying a 2015 V7. That red seat is great, any idea where I could get one? Thanks.
Thanks Tracy. I had the seat recovered by a reputable local upholstery shop. I chose the color and it's a rust brown. I had them leave the grab strap off and use a heavy stitch.
Those are the stock bars. The fairing is an R90s replica (BMW) from Airtech. It's not a direct bolt on and requires trimming and making your own brackets. It has very good full chest coverage while in a regular seated position. Toward the end (6:50) of this video I got down to see the top end but you can hear how quite it gets because of the air flow.
Curious to ask what seat that is? I have a comfort gel on my v7c but love that color of your seat
Nice, I"m in SOCAL. If I ever get to ride out that way I'd love to take a ride on it! :)
Heard often that the Moto Guzzi Classic is some kind of tired. And I believed because of the 50 HP in Europe, but with your ride you show some kind of a different picture of the V7, not so tired, has a nice turning moment and accelleration it seems :)
Nice highway btw. must be fun to ride there. Where is this, if I may ask?
+artfantasies Thank you. It's not the fastest but more fun then most. That road is in S/E Arizona U.S.A. Thanks for the comment.
Fun video. The bike sounds good. Is that an observatory up on top? I'd like to ride up there..can you tell me what road it is?
Beautiful bike! What fairing is that?
www.airtech-streamlining.com/bmw/bmwboxer.htm R90s7 w/ R90s2 Thanks for the nice comment.
+MotoLupo Hard to fit on?
Somewhat difficult. Careful trimming and making brackets.
Question: Do you ever find yourself in a position on that bike where you might need more power?
Nice vid, can't tell which I like better...seeing AZ again or the sound of the guzzi? Cheers
Thanks for the kind comment Anthony.
Mistral from MG Cycle and Power Commander from Todd at Guzzi Tech. Though I think your Breva sounds good.
Thanks Alex.
FAP, FAP, FAP, FAP!
Careful the wife doesn't catch you Joe.
It's ok... she kinda likes to watch.
It's not self-leveling, he's just that good... Lupo is the master!!
He is one of the most level-headed guys I know... So, yeah.
handles great ! stock rear shocks ?
YSS shocks and yes, they improved the handling a lot.
thanks for the info
How fast did you go? I've always been in love with the V7.
Loose lips sink ships ;-)
hahah, point taken sir, well, brilliant video! ^_^
Thank you, I do appreciate that.
You're welcome
What is the location of that road?
Southern Arizona and I 'm usually the only one on it.
Nice Bike & Sound how about engine vibration , can you comment ?
+Ferdinand yap, Very smooth. Guzzies have a unique personalty as far as engine feel due to the 90 degree engine design. You can feel the torque with throttle changes but no vibration. I have four.
+MotoLupo "I have four" haha I love that part. I'm picking up a Stone tomorrow. I'm so pumped. Can you tell me your thoughts on the suspension upgrades? Also, did you have your bike tuned for the exhaust?
+Tyler Poppe I have a California, Quota, Ballabio and the V7c. My Cali and the V7c have Mistral with the DB killer installed and run great with the stock fuel mapping.
What vibration?
Seriously though, moving the bars by as little as 1cm either way can transform whether they're comfortable or not.
It can be counter-intuitive, logic may make you think they should move nearer but in practice find they need to move away.
A 'double de-clutch' on down shift can rock the bike and a clumsy down shift can make the back tyre skip due to no chain (not a good idea on bends), but you get used to that.
What kind of mirrors are those?
I've now ditched the mirrors Omar. The ones you see are Bar ends modified to go on the stock location but function suffered because of lack of adjustment. I now have black BikeMaster Mini Mirrors. They look good and work good.
Yea right :)
Der Mistral Auspuff wäre mir zu laut. Original klingt sie viel besser! Habe selber eine V7 Classic.
+WernerRobin The exhaust has the DB killer installed and sounds great from the saddle. not obnoxious to others and is legal here. I like the sound and it is after all for my entertainment.
Typical road maintenance. The road was paved about 2 or 3 years back but goes through weather extremes from 120F in the summer to 10F in the winter. They hot tar the cracks to keep rain from lifting the asphalt. Most motorcyclists call them "tar snakes". The tar gets rock hard slippery when cold and mushy when hot. Get out and ride
