Hi Kevin , thanks for watching. it does work real slick and can be set sensitive enough to catch a young house cat or small coon. I will try to get a camera on it and get some catches posted.
@@PaulNichollsPausabniTraders hello . We had a coyote eat a new born calf at my families farm so I made a wooden version, only because I needed it to be quick. I want to weld one up soon. But I used your trigger system and it tested out very well. I used cattle panel for the sides because I had it on hand. Down fall is it will have to be a bigger animal so if I catch a coyote I'll report back. Thank you for the idea.
Great design Paul that should work really well for you!! I would suggest putting grass or straw in the bottom when you set is to cover the bottom steel and make it more appealing to enter. Let us know how it works!!!
looks great, can't wait to see your first catch, love the gillatine door, gonna look into getting something like that at my state convention in September.
Nice build Handles just look like they are in an awkward position to carry the trap with. I would've located the handles on the sides on the tredel end and welded 2 bolts to attach a lawnmower wheel to each side on the door end.
Paul, two lawnmower axle wheel bolts from lowes, a couple cheap wheels, and nuts to fit the axle bolts tacked to the outside of the frame would make the trap much more portable. Nice design though.
Caught few foxes in it and later converted it to a cage to take my dog around in back of truck. There weren't any coyotes around here at the time so don't know what they would think of it. Had to camo it well though before I caught the first fox.
you need to sell them, looks great. Just moved to Colorado where you can only use cage traps. Got some yesterday in the mail they are also 24 ht. I would prefer taller thou. Never tried to catch a coyote in a cage trap, caught a lot of coyotes. I use legholds and snares. If ya wanna check any of my catches I have some of coyote on here. It is under my name "Christopher Lee Helton". I do ADC work also, but I am a fur trapper as well. If you go to it the band the Heltones will also come up. It is a band I was in. We actually put the band together for a commercial for Pepsi with Shaq. Thought we sound pretty good and decided to record a CD
Thank you fasterman3, it is a heavier builty cage than I have been able to find anywhere. I have thought about it and maybe will someday. To bad you can only use cage traps there. I am thinking the only Yote I could catch would be a city yote...lol But Fox and other critters for sure. I will check out your channel.
So, have you caught any in it? I have to do the same thing. Can't use snares or steel traps due to domestic pets and other animails in the area, but the coyotes have killed pets so I gotta eliminate them. I'm going to build a trap large enough to double as a wild hog trap too; any thoughts on a dual purpose setup?
I have not set for yotes yet, but I have caught coon, cats, dogs, skunks. It works really well actually. If you are to use it on coyotes you will need to make it look natural as best you can. Good Luck!
Best trigger system I've seen on here. Looks simple and durable

@@kevinkubed7683 Excellent..I hope it works well. Yotes can be very hard to get in a cage.
Nice look. Love to see it work.
Paul what a super job. Really, really nice. Good luck with it
Just my design Scott, I can`t take credit for the welding...lol But Thanks for thinking I am that talented...hahahaha

Thanks Joel, and bingo on the grass etc on the floor of the cage...now where or where can I set it up first?
Nicely done Paul

Me too...lol prob be a stinker though...lol. Good luck finding one at your convention, Thank you for watching!
Nice live trap ! Going to make me a couple of them for coyote and foxes !
Glad you like it James, I hope they work well for you. Thank you for watching!
Looks good Paul!!!Cheers!!
Hey Dwight..Thanks!
Nice build

You are absolutely right Charles, it has proven to be very Awkward. I have thought about adding some wheels somehow...that trap works excellent.

Thanks Jason, I believe I will check into that.
Like to see how it works. Tried something similar years ago. Good luck on that!
How did your set up work for you...I will be posting the setups and catches when I get it out.

Nice cage Paul, looking forward to see how it works out. Migwech
Thank You Kirk!
Very nice trap !!😆
Thanks James, it works very well!

What type of mesh and gauge is the metal?
Next, position a trail cam with video to watch it in action. Nice looking trap.
Yes I should have had one on it already but it does real crappy videos...soon hopefully I will have a better cam.
I’m pretty sure Michigan coyotes would NEVER go into a cage.
I agree Les, but the town nuisance yotes will. That is more the reason for making it. Thanks for watching.
That is a amazing live trap would you mind telling me the height and how wide the trap is
50" long, 22" wide and 24" tall are the cage specs and thank you!
I have make one of these!
Very nice trap👍 what do you use to get human scent off of it?
They will smell ya no matter what

The larger you can make it the better, your hog pen style should work.
What size angle iron on the sliding gate
I know it's a old video but what kind and gauge of wire is that ?
It is mesh wire for pouring concrete, thank you for watching
@@PaulNichollsPausabniTraders thank you
Old type of trap
Old style yes ,but new to me...
boring
