Re: pixel tablet 1. It'd be a $370 tablet, not $270. 2. We're using it on the road trip for the kids and it's fantastic as a tablet alone, except for the speakers being too quiet. 3. Honestly I think this is a good enough idea that Amazon, Samsung, or Apple will come out with their own version that will be magnetic with better speakers and wireless charging. I think they are thinking too hard with the tech nerd part of their brain and not the other one that's just a regular person that probably owns way less devices then the techies. I will agree that 130 is too much for that speaker but like that one guy said there isn't anything like it right now so pricing is just going to be in the air till a viable market for it emerges.
I have the pixel tablet and I've been really REALLY enjoying it. The dock is a game changer. It's always charged, it always has a place to live...aka it's never lost, and the docked functionality is much better than my nest hub. That said, I do think the lack of stand-alone dock functionality is a miss. I would have liked it if music kept playing when I removed the tablet.
@@doublewhopper67 I had a Lenovo tablet with a docking station and the pixel dock system is WAAAAAAYYY better than any other docking system out there, with the sole exception of charging 15 tablets at once ...but that's obviously not what I'm doing.

I would say that the differing home screens would be a con if the outside screen were skinny like the Z Fold. The Pixel Fold outer display is a nice width to feel like a real phone. If it were different displays that would prolly bug me imo
I'm really enjoying my pixel fold. So good for watching videos like this on, playing games or just having more room to work/multi-task. I'm also never far from a plug or a power bank (as are most people) so the battery life isn't a problem for me but honestly it's been lasting me all day easily and I'm playing games and watching a lot of videos so I'm confused how reviews are getting bad battery life. Plus getting the pixel watch was a nice bonus😄
The issue Marques has with it, I don't care. I'm fine if the homescreen on the inside is the same as the outside. My issue is the weight at 283g. If Marques is using it when closed, then what's really the point using a foldable? You can get a base Galaxy S23 which is fairly small enough and is over 115g lighter. What's happening here is getting both a smaller form factor with the decent sized cover display + a 7.6" tablet. You can save half by getting a normal slab and then another Android tablet. And battery life won't be dependent on one device. And all the tent mode / table top mode crap can be done with a normal slab that has a case with a kickstand which is common to find on eBay.
I would love to see a tech youtuber cover the fact that the Pixel Tablet just isn't 1:1 in terms of features as the Nest Hub Max: it can't be used as a camera, and when you say "hey google" it just unlocks the tablet and shows the home screen. Timers don't have the full screen interface like Nest Hub Max and setting timers is 75% of what I do with a Nest Hub Max. I returned it after 2 weeks.
To compare Android Tablet vs iPads, the issue is a LOT more apps have almost “desktop” versions on iPad. While Facebook seems to want to drag their feet, they say they won’t make an Instragram iPad app. But Many, Many others have and they work very well. Twitter, Facebook (main app), Telegram, RUclips, most games. So i think many companies realized that the iPad availability is easier to develop for, while Android it’s work that hasn’t paid off yet. That was the issue even when I had a Nexus Tablet and why many Fire Tablets still struggle.
I have had a the Fold2, 3, 4 and traded for the Pixel Fold. I think it is so much better. The funny thing is I love that the big display and and the front display match. I hated setting up 2 home screens on the Samsung Folds. I also like the thicker bezels, cuz I am not constantly accidentally hitting the screen with my palm. Also, I feel like my battery life is so much better on the Pixel, because I use it closed most of the time, where as the Samsung, I never used closed cuz the front screen is just too small. Now I just use the big screen for streaming content. I feel like it offers the best of both worlds. So far I love it. It does have a few glitches, but the more I use it, the more I really like the software. Taking sometime to get used to since I've pretty much had all the Notes, and then the folds. I feel google missed the chance to invent a new product category (I think it doesn't exist) - portable home smarthub - If the speakers would work without the tablet docked. And it should've come with 2 such speakers/docks in the box for 400-500$. You need to sell it combined to sell the idea. Then you should have the option to use only one (you could choose which one) or two speakers at the same time. Quality of the speakers for the first gen is fine as it is. I am not in the market for a tablet, but this would make me rethink - super convenient. But you need 2 at the start, and they need to be more than a brick without the tablet.

You might expect that Pixel Fold has a better software experience than Z Fold, but in reality it is definitely the other way around. If you removed the outer screen form factor, the Pixel Fold delivers a worse experience, in particulare in software area (there are literally generations in between). It starts with the restrictions of the home screen, continues with the missing Flex Mode for all apps, with missing floating windows, with Apps not opening in full screen, and many other aspects.
