Todays depressed children are exposed to things that are harmful and dangerous to their psychology. Instead of focusing on therapy and bettering themselves, they are told a quick surgical fix would help them. If such person happened to be trans, they have to live with the bodies that they don't feel comfortable with for their ENTIRE LIVES. Im a psychologist, let me tell you the truth, gender disforia is a mental disorder, they took it out of the DSM and now it's not considered anymore, but unlike being gay, being trans does have significant mental health problems tied to it. 42% of trans people die by suicide, and almost 80% of them attempt suicide. For comparison depression is only at 2%, and jews in nazi germany was at around 11% more or less. So yes, they don't want you to know the truth, but it is a mental disorder and it's shameful that they took it out strictly for political reasons

My state just passed a bill that school athletes must compete in sports according to their birth gender. That a fantastic win for women’s sports.
I love that being referred to with the pronouns matching their sex and having to use the bathroom matching their sex is "going to kill kids", but being told that there is something fundamentally wrong with their body and they need to be mutiliated in order to live happily will not... We all know who is really ruining and killing kids here.
Democrats are so keen to “trust in science” as if it is a religion and not a method of thinking. Weird how they also don’t want science to dictate how gender is treated, almost like their “science” is a blind faith religion.

This isn't anti anyone. It protects minors from being poisoned and/or mutilated while they are too young to make their own decisions. Does this bill protect kids from parents who wish them to have plastic surgery against their will? No it does not, it targets one group. Does it improve the teachers lives or the students? Nor is it likely the average trans student would they have the strength to overpower the majority of children their age given that puberty would only just be begining by the end elementry school. Most parents love their children and have incentive to see them thrive. I think it does improve lives of the majority of students and teachers who are not emotionally disturbed. Bathrooms in schools are frequented by children with disparities of age, size and strength. I had kids in my own grade who were 5 years older than me. And in my first school some were 11 years older. This bill is long overdue and the majority of students, parents and children can breathe a sigh of relief.

And gender affirming care is just a nice way of saying "life changing surgery and treatments that no amount of later regret can fix." These are children, and they are going to take hints about their gender from friends and family before their sense of identity is even firmly established. Such treatment should wait until they are adults and have agency to make that choice for themselves rather than having it made for them by others.
We don't led children smoke, drink alcohol, drive cars, get tattoos or have cosmetic surgery, yet this is ok? Unless studies come out showing that the efficacy of such treatment is beyond reproach, the rational thing to do in this situation is to be conservative and not allow for such drastic measures until the science is fully out. And as of right now, it seems like there are more than a few people who get this sort of treatment and regret it later.

No really pronouns are just words one can say in connection to a person. As for bathrooms it has not really saved anyone as most children are not perverts or rapists. Nor is it likely the average trans student would they have the strength to overpower the majority of children their age given that puberty would only just be begining by the end elementry school. This bill is a waste of time targeted at a small group of people with no gain for the people.

This bill is long overdue and the majority of students, parents and children can breathe a sigh of relief.

I'm Left.... and I agree with this completely. We set ages for Driving, Drinking, Voting.... yet somehow, something this important is allowed to be decided by children. Nope. If they want to have the surgery bad enough they'll wait until their Adults.
To be honest if children voted at the very least they couldn't do a worse job, they also couldn't possibly handle alcohol as irresponsibly as older folk do, driving should simply have a test and lots of elderly people due to poor eye sight and depleted reaction timing shouldn't be allowed nor anyone else who fails. Voting should have a test too so you make sure someone is actually familiar with the policies and beliefs of the one they're voting for if not they don't get to vote. I don't think people should be telling minors (or anyone else) they're the other gender though and conditioning them to think incorrectly however couldn't care less if someone wants to use the other bathroom, big deal they aren't doing anything different in there which they wouldn't be doing in the other one.
