  • Eastern and Western Palm Warblers breed in the boreal forests of Canada and winter in the Florida Backyard. The most notable feature of this delightful bird is their near constant tailing wagging. Lots of birds have a habit of pumping or wagging their tails besides the Palm Warblers - like phoebes, wagtails and pipits, and Spotted Sandpipers. In some cases it is thought that tail pumping is a signal meant to send a message to tell a predator that the bird has seen it, and therefore is not worth pursuing.

We're all starting to take crystal-clear 4K video like this for granted. It's so astonishing.
Oh well, we take air travel for granted, too, and it was brand new at one time!

Beautiful little guys. I saw one hopping around in my yard today.
I also recently saw prairie warblers in a certain tree they must love eating the little bugs on. They turn upside down sometimes on the thin branches. They are very sweet and not afraid either.

I saw that bird at my feeder. I thought it was having a seizure and almost called the wildlife folks. I'm glad it's normal. 😌

Lol there’s one which likes to antagonize this mockingbird which lives in a bush in my backyard. One day it brought another warbler with it and one went after spiders in my gutters while the other one went to antagonize the mocking bird.

Phoebes flick their tails also. They are in the flycatcher family.

FANTASTIC !!! Pete and I rescue birds in Newark NJ, but he visited me in Ocala last week and neither of us could figure out what this tail wagging bird was. We have rescued Palm Warblers in Newark but do not observe tail wagging as injured, and do not have that whitish eyebrow. Checking off another bird in my life-list - Thanks ! Think I might have shared this before, it is video of Pete & me in June in Newark rescuing injured in Newark NJ NJ ruclips.net/video/kjxoV66pCcM/видео.html
