MAD PROPS to the person on hammered dulcimer!! (The bass is pretty good too!)
Smash Ogre you forgot to give props to Nick Lachey on drums
:-D
you will like this ruclips.net/video/xp8UCpHk-vk/видео.html
Mad props to the whole trio. I could listen to all of these guys individually!
Actually, I believe that is Ignacio Rivas-Bixio and he is amazing 👍🏼
I've never seen someone shred a hammered dulcimer before.
To hell with the bass, that dude was bringing it.
I know the cimbalom, not the dulcimer because I'm Hungarian but musicians usually solo and play lightning fast on that instrument in traditional Hungarian music.
I don't know what the hell is going on with these comments. This sounds beyond amazing any of you could ever play.
'Bass sounding like guitar'.... It's a 3 man assemble, Moto is sharing the lead melody with the hammered dulcimer..
Saw these guys supporting Snarky Puppy at Brixton academy last year and they blew me away 👍🏻
Is there a video on youtube ?
@@sigiriabeysekara8723 Pornhub would be more appropriate
The dulcimer could be highered a little in the mix, at least for the beginning of the song cause, but woaw, that was impressive !
great stuff - loved the bass playing, and also the hammer dulcimer stuff. What a fabulous sound from these three~!
I love these guys so much, absolutely adore the sound. Mixing could be better, but love the combination of instruments.
Great video! Very confused by the string routing on that low B. The tuning machine it's going to and the way it is strung is blowing my mind.
3:01 when you fart during the jam.
🤣
bahahahah
This guy is an amazing bassist. I’m pretty excited to checkout this band. Thank you.
Definitely checking out more from this band. Great stuff!
Shoutout to all the drummers here who checked this out. Holy crapola the chops on that drummer... And shoutout for the drumbal at 1:08!
thank u! :)
I fell asleep on these guys? WTF??? They’re incredible!😳🎶👍🏾
Was ready to turn my nose up.... but this is actually fucking brilliant! Will defo check these guys out some more.
Awesome job guys well done
That is so dope... Who needs a guitar, when you have an fantastic bass
what is tempo, but a fleeting moment in the stream of sound?
fantastic guys... really nice
I'm sure all the haters could be equally as comfortable and musical playing in 17/8 time.
Fear inoculum be like
I really dig this music, but being able to play as well as someone isn't required to express distaste for their work... lol...
So since most people are not experts of certain crafts and they are not chefs, not film producers/directors, not painters, they shouldn't judge the food that they ate at the restaurant, the movie that they saw at the cinema or on TV, the painting that they saw at the exhibition?
I disagree.
@@aaaaaa2206 What I meant by my original comment was some people didn't like this amazing music that is 17/8 time, they commented negatively about it or thumbs down it. I do understand that not all people will appreciate this masterful composition.
@@aaaaaa2206if you don't know good cinema you aren't going to have a opinion on new movies that's worth listening to. If you aren't a train chef there are tastes and dishes you don't have the palate to enjoy or understand why they are useful or good. Music is just noise. Any noise can be explained using music theory, but if you do not practice theory, some more experimental types will fall on deaf ears.
Awesome groove !
Beautiful sounding track!
This has become my new drug. Thanks, Scott
Amazing bass and duclimer. That drummer is also killer. Nice sound out of the Micro VR and the Fodera.
Excellent!
love it !
Outstanding performance by all!
Great drums!
Headed straight to their website and bought the album. This is amazing!
That Fodera looks like it's delicious to play. Damn would i ever love to put my hands on one of those.
as a bass player, i can verify that it's a guitar. why? because it has 6 strings. best comment ever. i'm so proud of myself, that i can help the bass community. bass is lif!
LOL! I think the string gauge and frequencies produced define a bass from a guitar.
EgoShredder he put pillows in front of his cabinet to absorb the high frequencies. he's a pretty small man so the guitar looks like a bass. he's even playing chords.
you know i'm just kidding right?
I know you are kidding because he uses a fat woman with a wide arse against his cabinet, to suppress his frequences and this also helps suppress any sexual thoughts, thus giving a better overall bass performance.
EgoShredder yes, nice bottom end.
Don't forget scale length, tuning (low B and high C...no high B and E like guitar). No doubt a 6-string BASS. '):
Continue that way do a little bit of everything as it already is, it'll rock amazingly good.
that is sick!
Awesome Performance! Plus, the drummer seems to really listen to the band....making eyes contacts, etc......Waw!!
Epic 🤘
simply stunning
amazing
Very cool bassist and overall music.
My face hasn't been melted that hard in a while. Thoroughly enjoyed the music, though the last minute of performance was less inspired.
Wonderful...
I got more interesting and out there sounds on that pedal the first time I tried it. Great playing all around, but the red foot box can do way more than that. Sounded like simple pitch shifting kind of effect, where what I found was like an extra hand or way to tweak things into alien language territory.
Not what I want a bass to sound like but I do like the music.. very nice
*Justin Chancellor using whammy on bass since begining of times*
I luv it.
nice
What's that instrument that one guy is playing with the spoons?
my new jam
Yes my friend
Nice
And they have the beautiful Fabrizio Corona on drums!
It is said that Cliff Burton used a WAH peddle on his bass solo 'Anesthesia, Pulling Teeth'
Listen to argentinian bass player Javier Malosetti, he uses a lot of whammy in his soloing
Great band!
1:37 sounds like a Sega sonic game music track.
Wow thought I was listening to exivious so good
great trio..f great
Is anyone else getting quite a Tom Jenkinson vibe from his bass playing?
I was using a whammy pedal with a bass in the early 90’s.
song name?
I saw Victor do it years ago.
Please do an interview with Michael League!!
Taihen yoi! Arigato, Fukushima-san!!
Galing mo ate guy! Petmalu lodi
what a weird ensemble lol. love it
Holy shit that was good
Reminded me of Evan Marien.
What is the brand of the bass?? Anyone
Alexander fodera, costs like 10000$ 😬
What’s the bass he is playing ? Thanks !
Its a fodera single cut, unsure the exact model
Fucking excellent playing on all fronts.
Why is the b string on the a tuner?
He’s hacking the scale length to tighten it up so it sounds clearer with better sustain. It’s a great idea, I’m gonna try it myself and pray I don’t crack a tuner👍
すごい!
The dulcimer player is out of this world
What's the name of that string instrument ? It's so sick 🔥
Callum Moodley hammered dulcimer
It's called a "bass". Look it up, has been around for a while.
beatz04 I thought it's called "Guitar McLongneck"
It's a banjo tho, jk
powerful sh*t!
Saw HoW when they were supporting Snarky Puppy on their latest UK tour. HoW absolutely blew Snarky out of the water (pardon the pun), to the point where I was disappointed when Snarky did finally come out for their set. HoW are going to go far
Seems like HoW was playing a mix of several songs. Or am I wrong? Would have been nice if Scott has put the TITLE OF THE SONG in the vid title ...
Sissy stuff! Yeah, Really? Awesome!
More Hammered Dulcimer!!
Bass to dulcimer ratio was a little high
Dude is truly wicked good! But Doug Wimbish has been using whammy pedals for years. Albeit in a slightly different context, and I'm not looking to detract how this wonderful player has incorporated it; I guess I'm just saying that it isn't quite as audacious to me as your thumbnail pic implied.
Brett Marlar Doug Wimbish is using like EVERY effect on bass for years 😃
Dulcimer is just piano but you are the hammers
I love HoW and really believe they're great players but Moto's time comes across as sloppy in that groove section and tempo through the whole thing seems to fluctuate a bit. Maybe a response to being so loud in the mix?
Jesse Blue Eads: It seemed intentional to me, just didn't sound that good given how busy & quantized the rest of the band was
how this is even possible
Nick Lachey is a drummer?
lol
So Justin Chancellor
and Michael Manring...Victor Wooten's done it...me...haha alot of dudes have done it
1:36 real stanky
Hammer dulcimer haulin' ass!
这个扬琴厉害了
yay!..almost barefoot bassist!( er..socks it out of the park though)
i’m more concerned with what’s going on with his b string
Pretty much every bass player uses an octave/whammy pedal in their rig to achieve this sound. They just don't overuse it like this?
Didn't Cliff Burton use a whammy in Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)?
Answer is no, he used a wah-wah. Sorry everyone. These guys are very good, and they're on Spotify.
The more I see it being performed on, the more I need a 6 or 5 string bass
RC32 i’ve had a six string bass for quite a while now, and I love it to pieces. It is my number one go to bass, especially for jazz and pop. It is nice to have the low B string, and when it comes to soloing, the high C is really nice to have. Good investment to get if you are looking for one. Five string is nice, but that high C makes a difference.
Ahh I see! Thank you for the recommendation man! I've been feeding off with my 4 string for a long while. It does seem that the extra 1/2 strings can be a diversifying experience indeed!
RC32 My pleasure. The worst part of having a four string is playing in the key of D. You could never get those same kind of grooves as you would with a piece in the key of E. With the low B string, you are able to play in the key of D just like you were playing in the key of G with a four string. Having the high C string, allows you to walk a bass line up high, without having to shift up the neck.
Really? Well then a 5/6 string will come in handy for those twists and turns indeed! They do sound prominent and essential without a doubt from the looks of it
RC32 I got the Ibanez sound gear six string and it has twin Bartolini pick ups. On board EQ makes a difference too. I prefer the sound of active pick ups, but make sure you try out a bunch of basses until you make your decision to get one. I think you will enjoy getting one. I highly suggest six string over five, so you have the ability to go higher if you wish.
Justin chancellor has been using whammy pedals for more than 10 years...
Youssef Fahmy good observation
ALIEN
i think Thundercat came up first with Whammy and 6 String Bass!!!!!
There is even a whammy designed for bass by digitech…
thundercat does it
Bass whammy pedals exist.
He likes Rush. At least it seems
wire that unit, sonically invisible
CHOPS!!!
