Growing up with my uncle embedded in the world of Aston Martin I've loved the brand from a very early age so, today is a very special day to be sharing with you!

A RUclipsr with proper taste is a rare sight these days, Congrats!
Unbelievably true, many wouldn’t give this car a second glance. But those who know will loose it
Literally
and not this wanky.. how good am I you poor sod that many portray...
Cliche comment
I disagree. I think a lot of them have good tastes
Finally a person on RUclips who doesn’t just by the flashy poser junk
Check out “the car guys” and “Harry’s garage” channel , they have good taste on car too
Agreed, there are way too many automatic Huracans out there
You should check out effspot, he has an amazing car that will blow your mind!
@@Ne0c225 Lmao Effspot is a mad lad for having that car it's the best
John Cary another manual boot licking try hard
A V12 and a MANUAL
Nothin gets better than that
Congratulations for that beautiful car!!!
I know something better than that, a 4.0L V8 and an automatic
@@thedon897 I wonder why the highest value car is a mid engine v12 rwd ferrari 250 gto at 48m dollars
GT86 your profile picture is a ricer🤣
@@user-hc5si5tw5p because of the limited amount of them.
@@AwkwardYet mclaren f1, ferrari f50, Diablo sv, 250 gto, enzo, pagani zonda cinque, aether these are the epitomes of the automobile from an enthusiasts perspective, rwd manual mid engine, v12 NA, these are purebred raw drivers machines and there values reflect that, an automatic 4.0 v8 or 2.0 turbo 4 banger will never be that or have those values. Timeless drivers machines, and pure unadulterated experiences will always win out in the long term.
Just look at the value of a 997 gt3 rs compared to a brand new one, in 10 years it is worth double what the brand new one is, why, because it is more mechanical and pure. There are lots of low production cars, they do not have values like these unless they have the perfect enthusiast setup. Just look on the classic market.
“The key was called... wait for it... the emotional control unit. (Isn’t that cheesy)” Literally 30 seconds later “the S is DBS suggests sexy road driving”. Managed to out cheese Aston Martin in a small sentence!! Awesome car though.
Nath Leaves - 'literally 30 seconds later'? So 30 seconds later, you mean?
Mark Fox okay 👌🏽
That generation of DBS is one of the coolest cars ever! Really want one!!
If you believe in yourself everything is possible. Go get one.
Husky701 Rider Affording s v12 Aston isn’t a simple goal 😂
@@danhall5761 More simple than you might think. DB7s and DB9s are pretty affordable these days.
@@trihardcx6743 a DBS, however, would set you back at least 80k, sometimes closer to 100k. And the running costs of a DB9/Vantage are extortionate.
@@silvershadowjsh That really depends on the condition and yearly mileage.
Wonderful car! Great video dude!
Thanks buddy! Hope to see you some time 🤙🏼
Tavarish sees an Aston and he goes nuts
Love the channel
Mr JWW
😇🇵🇭 Greetings from Manila, James! 🇵🇭😇
Congratulations on the GORGEOUS addition. ☝️
Now you have one!
Is there anyone more British than James?! Love the new car, congrats!
Tim
@@simplistic3609 Definitely!;)
The moment you say Bond is more British than James, you instantly realise that is some epic comparison
Tim is half German 🤔..
Tim strikes me as more german
Brushed Aluminium for the front grille please, sir. My favorite car of all time btw, absolutely beautiful and that V12 just kills me.
Thanks - I think you’re right
I second that!
Mr JWW silver for sure
😍😍
I know Im asking randomly but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot the login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
@Thiago Uriel instablaster ;)
Congrats James sir you just bought a future classic it's like match made in heaven a v12 with manual gearbox
Prefer this DBS to any new Astons. I remember using one from ecurie25 back in the day. Took it to Whatley Manor. What a weekend it was. Cheers for the video.
A car reviewer that is professional and who doesn’t knock other channels. It’s great, and he didn’t flout lockdown rules like other youtubers.
Yes!! DBS!! Memories from Casino Royal
So refreshing to see some genuine excitement and emotion, let's face it from a guy who could be driving pretty much any car he fancied, on a car that's 12 years old and done some serious mileage. I'm sure that's why your channel and videos are so well liked James by so many. Glad to see the dreams of that young teenager coming true. Keep the good stuff coming.
I swear I was waiting for this since the modern classics episode.....damn does James keep his word
“ when my ring bangs against it “ maybe the best words ever 😂😂
lol I didn't catch the meaning until now, he's really suttle
Lovely things the DBS. Would return the grill to standard.
i dont think about this car often. but when i see it again in pictures or in videos. then i realise that is the most beautiful car in the world.
Yes! One of my favourite Astons and cars ever, still one of the best looking of all time and that V12+Gearbox is such a great combination. And I’m a massive Bond fan, love the little 007 touch on the numberplate
A car I would keep forever. A V12 and manual, that's a dream
Absolutely stunning. Definitely change that grill to the standard chrome. I was looking at the front of it and was wondering what was different. 👏
I have a 09 in the same colour, Storm Black, and same spec but with interior stitching in red, beautiful car that drives as well as it looks. Definitely definitely return the front grill to original finish, the black only cheapens the appearance. Manual DBS is a jewel in the Aston lineup, congrats.
You can't beat that new car feel what ever the value or performance.
I adore AM, they just ooze style like no other car brand can manage. 👍
This car is literally Mr JWW in car form. Quintessentially British and charming.
That paint needs some correction! But one of my favorite cars ever! Congrats!
What's wrong bro..!? Can I know..?
Bhargav lekkala Just in the up close shots you can see quite a bit of scratching in the clear coat. Just needs some paint correction to get rid of all of that.
Being the co~owner of NVN will come in handy with this one that's for sure
Such a gorgeous shape. Like the Maranello, it's timeless. No fuss, no angry face, just beautiful from any angle. Well bought.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAR. The spec you have is stunning. Many congrats sir 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Agree, silver grill. It will tie in with the wheels and window trim too 👌. If that’s how it left the factory, do it! Cracking car James, huge congratulations and another lovely story.
I know you would buy this car why wouldn’t you it’s one the best true Aston Martins out there with manual and v12 congratulations
This is the only Aston Martin model I will forever cherish. The amazing looks and sound and the interior were so amazing. I love the fact that it made appearances in two Bond films: Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace. Masterpiece British beauty ❤
Love DBS’s. I like the grill silver as the wheels are too, nice contrasts 👍🏽
I dont comment often but i just want to point out how appreciative i am for a youtuber to finally get one of those. One of my all time dream cars, absolutely gorgeous! Congrats!
That has to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made , it’s up there with the Miura and the E type
The most beautiful car made in the last 20 years. Huge props to you buying this. Massive massive congratulations on your superb purchase. Been a big fan for years but this just puts you into the stratosphere.
Congrats james! Gorgeous car as usual!
I had a DB9 when I first saw the DBS at the dealership. Couldn’t get it out of my mind, so two years later I traded it in and bought a 2 year old 09. I’ve had that DBS now for 11 years and have no intention of ever giving it up. It is definitely one of the best looking Astons ever, and is a design that seems to not age at all. When I drive mine, people often ask if it is a new car, after they ask what it is....
Anybody else now searching DBSs manual on Pistonheads?
Yep and at approx £85k I still can't afford one
@@hurst_luke 85? thats about as low they gonna get
No because I know I can’t afford one and never will😂
James couldn't live without the NA V12 of the TDF.. I completely understand! Congratulations on this beauty!
Seems like he is fulfilling his childhood dreams for the time being
Congratulations! Such a beautiful car. I felt the same way when I bought mine two years ago. A couple of things to share: 1. If yours is late 2008 manufacture, it's a model year 2009 car. There were only few true MY08 DBSs made, and those were dealer demonstrators or press cars. The last MY08 car was chassis number E00030. 2. The configuration you have (no back seats) is what Aston and AMOC refer to as "2+0", with 2+2 referring to the ones with the little useless back seats (glad mine doesn't have them). 3. Does yours have an original or early clutch plate? If so, you may notice a "whirring" sound if you slip the clutch on launch. It was a known defect in the early clutch plates for the DBS and V12 Vantage 6-speed. Aston introduced an improved clutch plate later which cures this issue. Mine had the issue, and swapping it for a new clutch transformed the driving experience for me. Enjoy your DBS! Excited to see more videos.
This was a rather nice surprise! Number plate works well!! Have fun!
One of the most beautiful, elegant, stylish cars ever made i.m.o. I've always thought of myself as a car guy, but as I'm growing older, it's come to my attention that there are almost no cars that I really like. So maybe I'm not even a car guy, I'm just a lover of cars that are perfect or near perfect. And on my short list, the Aston Martin DBS is one of those rare cars. It's absolutely gorgeous from every angle.
Great choice. I have always loved Astons and I'm sure I'm not alone
In these trying times, the pride and joy you express about your new DBS manual brings to mind a quote from Star Trek/City on the Edge of Forever: "these are the days worth living for".
Edd Starr “Kahnnnnn!!!!”
One of the best cars you have bought mate!
A manual V12 Is not a dying breed, im pretty sure its already dead. Makes this car even more special! Love it
this man has a wonderful taste in car absolutely amazing spec
James content is really on another level these days. A great mixture of high end car testings, interviews, motor racing and personal stories, always interesting to watch. Much better than those "im buying xxx" content or awkward smiling faces. Keep it up!
So my Hyundai Venue and DBs both has 6speed Manual transmission in common 😂😂
u bought a venue..? let that sink in.
Repaint the grill to silver ! The car looks perfect with silver accents, like the windowframes the silver rims the silver stripe on the back and now please with a silver grill. This car is my holy grail, the manual ofc. i’m so happy somebody appriciates this car as much as i do !
Truly James Bond now
“It’s not that sunny, story of my life”
*owns an Aston Martin that most people could only dream of*
“When my ring bangs against it” Really!! 😳
I think an all black (matte/satin + storm black) spec would look really aggressive on it
Didn't they come with a pouch for the Crystal Emotional Control Unit?
No, you have to buy it separately
@@proffesionalretard I have the original sleeve mine came with, with the DBS logo on it. I haven't seen them for sale anywhere. What you can buy today is a generic AM leather pouch with the magnetic latch.
Q Branch oh right, I’ve never seen a DBS specific pouch before. When we ordered the AMR we paid I think it was around £200 for a matching key pouch 🤔
It aged so well, what a beautiful car, beauty, elegance, sportivity, sound it has everything. Congratulations and enjoy it !
This is one of the most beautiful cars of all time. Full stop.
GREAT CHOICE!! Perfect V12 replacement for the TDF. One of my dream cars. Cant wait to see your adventures in this car.
TGE has just died laughing at this video he loves a story 😂😂😂
I remember driving this car when valeting and goshh was this just a precious gem! V12 Manual and the engine just sounds amazing, like all Aston Martins.. What a beautiful car! Enjoy!! This car will def be on my top list when Im rich
Aston: Lets do Carbon for weight saving
Also aston: But Lets put the Carbon in a thicc layer of coating to compensate
TGE will be absolutely livid thinking James is buying the same cars as him...
Another great video MRJWW!
Least this one will get driven as it should be , and not just at a snails pace in London shouting cash
TGE has a DBS?
Much, much better looking than any new Aston Martin. Timeless design.
This is the most beautiful modern Aston I've ever seen. Aston is completely gone the wrong way after this.
Genuinely so pleased to see someone loving life and being so Positive and enjoying being along to see it happen. Enjoy 👍🤓👍
That is maybe the best looking car ever made... It does look so planted, sharp, has some beautifull hips and rounds... It is timeless design which will look good always.
It’s beautiful I have a 2009 DB9 here in Canada and it’s amazing to see how close they look like each other. Your lucky cherish it every kilometer. The wheels are awesome on your car
It was a dream to own an Aston Martin, my dream finally came true, I now own a 2014 centenary edition Aston Martin Vanquish, #28 of 100, thank you so much for sharing your story
Please make a video with that DB4🙏🏻🙏🏻
Literally my favorite car ever made! Perfect spec, color, interior, wheels, manual... and i will never even be able to sit in one. Emjoy what you are doing brother. You are living my dream.
Totally agree with JWW. I've owned one of these for ten years, and I love it as much today as the first. Would be great to hear about the possible upgrade to the infotainment system. Cheers.
until today, it is still the most beautiful AM car among any other now, just stunning, timeless
Don’t worry about the infotainment system. I closed mine when I bought my car (Rapide) and haven’t opened it since. Get a bluetooth adapter for streaming music and a good mount for your phone for Waze. If you insist on upgrading the system check out audiofile incar.
Awesome car James congrats 👍 boys dream car!
Will be interesting to see what audio/visual upgrades you can find for the ancient Volvo system. Porsche Classic seem to be leading the way in this area at the moment 👍
My favourite modern Aston. Rather than respraying the grille, I’d black out the vents as well. Gives it a cleaner, even beefier look.
Yeap that's definitely a future classic and a current gem! Don't bother to comment much on these videos but this car choice deserves a round of applause. Just stunning! May it give you years of enjoyment 👍
These Aston Martins have aged far better than the previous generations, they are for sure future classics!
V12 & a manual....literally a car persons dream
Congrats on the new car
Keep the grill black, the blacked out look, looks sick !!!!
Been there and done it with the DBS....mine was also a Manuel but managed to do 50 k plus miles before I moved on to the vanquish...great car...
Still one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. Wanted one since I first saw it in Casino Royale
So James is currently rocking a
Porsche 911 GT3 manual
Porsche 911 Turbo S
Aston Martin DBS manual
Porsche Macan Turbo Performance
Caterham race car
And has a freaking Koenigsegg Gemera incoming. Absolutely winning in life I would say!
Edit: Don't know if he still owns the S1 or Range Rover tbh
I'm not british, so not really sure if you guys look at it the same way, but this era of V12 Astons is like a Spitfire, a Concorde or an E-Type. Quintessentially british and while I know that the V12 is slightly "Fordish" it sounds not only great, but the sound of that thing fits a british car so well, like that Merlin sound you will never forget if you once heard it, if that makes any sense. This is really peak Aston for me, not hating the newer ones, but this was "Dark Side of the moon" while the newer ones are "A Momentary Lapse of Reason".
Blacked out manual DB9 owner here, do all the polished/brushed bits black or none. Also red tail lenses look better on black IMO, esp an S to make it look less dated- clear tails were cool for a brief moment. Great presentation James!
That grill must be in brush aluminum. Man, that car is like Scarlett Johansson on four wheels. It's just perfect
Welcome to the Aston Martin family, James! What a very special AM. I’ve always loved the VH Platform DBS. What a beauty! Ever since it was introduced at the 2007 Pebble Beach Cd’E, in Lightning Silver, I’ve wanted one. So far I haven’t found one. I have settled for now, a 2010 v8 Vantage in Lightening Silver. Manual, of course. Enjoy the journey and congrats! 👍👍😎
Change the front immediately to brushed aluminum, unless you plan on changing the wheels and the bright work around the windows!! My opinion of course
my most favourite car, not many know this car's existence. thank you JWW
To my eye, the DBS is one of the best looking cars of all time. Glad you didn't get a garish spec, i.e. blue and orange. Bet it's even better in person
Aston Martins from this era with this design and with a manual gearbox are the very best in the world 😍
Yes, return the grill to brushed aluminum. The shape of that grill is one thing that makes an Aston an Aston no matter year or model, much like the flared headlights of a 911. Unless it's just the way it comes across on camera, the grill is completely hidden in all black.
Incredible car, have lusted after one for years. Came close a couple of times. Congrats.
The best modern Aston Martin. Well played. Just look how beautiful it is...this car always was an instant classic, especially with the Bond connection.
What a line up, 991.2 GT3, 992 Turbo S and a Manual DBS 😍
Ever since your modern classics video with this car, I knew you were gonna get one James... What a machine 👊🏻
Geek fact - don’t forget the engine is two mondeo V6s . On the Vanquish V13 the power and torque were exactly double fords V6 . It’s amazing what you can make out of run of the mill bits - James it is a beautiful motor though 😊
Perfect car I own one for 5 years now, manual is the thing!!!
Yes! The DBS is really is a timeless piece of automobile. It's just the modern Aston Martin that sticks. Just as E46 to BMW. Congrats!
James, if you do a touch up on the body paint I would also go back to silver for the grill. If you leave the pain as is, leave it black as it helps hide all the blemishes better.
The DBS gives me more excitement than the F12 TdF. The F12 is cool, but it’s nothing in terms of experience compared to this. Sunny Day, Countryside Roads, Manual Gearbox, ans NA V12 symphony for ears. It truly makes you feel like James Bond. Can’t wait to see your adventures with this car. And make the Front Grille Polished Aluminium to match with the Window Surrounds. It’ll blend in very well.
