Beautiful Guitar! The String Action looks quite high? What is the String Action?

At the time yes I think the action was high as I was experimenting with how truthful Yngwie said that the higher string action gives more sustain with the strings. But I cant remember the exact measurement on this one at the time.

@@rockcastlemusicyngwie like many others is full of it and buys into the marketing schemes and lies. Your sustain has nothing to do with the action. It has to do with what type of neck design it is, bolt on, neck through, or set neck, and the distance the strings are from the pickups.

For me many factors contribute, not just those things you mentioned.I have a gibson les paul and a tanglewood les paul copy, both are set neck, but the tanglewood's got some really serious sustain on some parts of the fretboard. string guage, kind of fretwire, kind of od/distortion you're using, how much gain you're using, how big the venue is, how loud the amp is, pickups, all these contribute. I do get what Yngwie is trying to achieve with high action, he does not want the string to vibrate against the fretwire when he hits them since he is using 8 guage strings, and it does feel quite nice to have a slightly higher action than usual especially with the technique that he uses. It kinda makes you feel the strings in your fingers more, of course he is bs'ing when he says that his string action is around 6mm, the fender saddles cant go that high, I set mine to 60 thousands of an inch on the 12 fret low E and 40 thousands on the high e. He probably goes a bit higher but because his fretboard is scalloped, it looks a lot higher on photos.
