we find out in the show that kuzco's dad left when he was a baby and never came back (assumidly dying at sea) so he has an issue with people leaving and views people as purely objects that each have one purpose this is also why as soon as he thinks patcha might not be on his side he starts yelling about how he doesnt care about him
can we just take a second to appreciate the joke 75% of the movie happened just bc Yzma wanted to save on postage? also 12:19 where the cactus next to her turns into a llama after she dumps her drink on it
I'll have to go back and rewatch that scene; I never noticed that! Man, this movie just keeps getting more and more hilarious! Thanks for that hot tip.
A little fact: Yzma's appearance was partly based on that of Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmatians), and her main color is purple because it is mostly associated with insanity
One of my favorite deep cut jokes is when the guard says “Hey I’ve been turned into a cow. Can I go home?” Which is a double play on the saying “Till the cows come home”.
"Why does she need so many animal potions?" I think it's because she wants to take over. It's so she could use them on others that disobey her or annoy, turning them into an inferior species, and forcing them to either stay out in the wild or be someone else's pet to survive. Ironically, that's what almost happens to Kuzco when he comes to the realization that he's a bad emperor and person. He nearly resigns himself to live as a lonely regular llama. In other words, had Pacha not been such a wonderful, forgiving person, Yzma would've probably won without her knowing it!

They're reaction, they were upset they didn't come up with this themselves and promptly changed the ending.
Yzma had a song at one point called "Snuff Out The Light" as well as a dark cover of the opening song "Perfect World." Both were cut out due to time & cost issues but the first one at least remained on the soundtrack album. Actress Eartha Kitt was well known for her musical performances so it seems very odd to NOT have her singing in a Disney movie...
Dark fact, remember the bug eaten by the spider, well the only animal that can talk are those who were human once, so the bug was a human, eaten by a spider, happy nightmares
Two little details that really amused me when I first noticed them: - 4:06 One of the girls takes issue with being insulted and is about to take a swing at Kuzco, but another pulls her back. - 12:18 The cactus that Yzma pours her semi-poisoned drink into (not shown in the reaction) ALSO turns into a llama. If you love Kronk in this, then you definitely need to see Kronk's New Groove. I feel like the animation is a bit "cheap" (typical of a lot of Disney sequels), but the writing and characterization mimics the first film very well, PLUS Kronk is the main character, so it's a lot of fun to watch.
The voice of Izma was done by Ertha Kitt. The actress played Catwoman for one season of the 1966 version of Batman. By the way , she's African American.

My favorite Yzma line: it’s brilliant, brilliant, brilliant I tell you. Genius I say Kronk is my favorite character. Am I the only one who thinks he’s a lot like Scorpia from the new She-ra? The lovable muscular sidekick that works for the bad guys, but isn’t fit to do it.
One does not simply watch Emperor's New Groove without simping for Kronk. Pacha is great... but he did lie to his wife about meeting Kuzco. Kronk is just pure innocence.
I was just thinking the other day that it would be awesome if you did a reaction to Emperor’s New Groove and what do you know I see you upload this. The timing couldn’t be more perfect XD
The emperor new groove is a masterpiece alongside treasure planet, altantis: the lost empire, toy story, mulan, Hercules, lilo and stitch, trazan, the princess and the frog, ratatouille, lion king, the list goes on and on❤❤❤❤❤❤

I can’t believe it’s underrated cause everybody I went to school with went on and on about this, especially the tv show spin off. Movie commentary request: Kingsman the secret service Good burger Save the Last dance
Patrick Warburton makes Kronk, he is a treasure. The sequel is not a great story but it is worth it just to watch Kronk…and Ezma’s song ‘Feel Like a Million’
On the show "The Emperor's New School" they had the obligatory "It's A Wonderful Life" episode where Kuzco wished he was never emperor. Yzma was the empress instead, and got a big song number called "Yzmapolis"
There is also a series that aired on the Disney channel called The Emperor’s New School. In it, Kuzco has to enroll in Kuzco Academy and pass a series of classes and courses in order to stay emperor. Yzma and Kronk disguise themselves as faculty members and do whatever they can to make Kuzco fail. Also, Kuzco isn’t allowed to live in his palace while attending school and ends up temporarily staying with Pacha.
This was always one of my favorites!😃Especially because of how Kronk always just drove Yzma CRAZY!!!🤣Also there IS a sequel called KRONK'S NEW GROOVE!!!😉
I'm just starting to think right now, after years... What if the fly that gets eaten by that spider at the start of the movie is actually a human turned into a fly by one of Yzma's potions? 🤔 I mean, that's the only other animal we hear talking like a human in the whole movie besides the transformed Kuzco, Yzma and the guards. The squirrel doesn't talk. 🤔
In the original version of this movie Yzma had a song called Snuff Out The Light ruclips.net/video/L_hJxBUMuss/видео.html it's from when she wanted to black out the sun to stop herself aging.
