  • I thought the sump was bad in the tank of our 86 Daytona. It turned out to be that the return line had come off of the port in the fuel sender unit.
Since I had everything apart, I thought it would be time for a new tank and an upgraded pump.

Thanks for the vid. Looking to troubleshoot my 93 Daytona not starting so it’s nice to see fairly recent and good documentation.

Thanks for the comment, and the view. Hopefully you can get your Daytona going easily. The electronics were very well sorted by 93 so hopefully it's something easy. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out. I love keeping these cars on the road.

"Restoring" at 85 Turbo Z. I'll probably need this video in about 9 years when I'm installing the tank. Thanks for posting!

These videos are almost as much a how to for my future self as they are to help out others. It'll be here for you in 9 years, and I'll certainly attempt to answer any questions I can in the mean time. Thanks for the comment and the view.

Really helpful video! Can you elaborate on how to get the filler neck and tank together back on? Do you just sort of have to hold the tank in place while getting it in position while also guiding the filler neck to where it attaches?

That's pretty much it. I put a block of wood on a jack and then begin to pump it up while trying to hold everything up there. I try to guide it up and make adjustments as necessary. Thanks for the comment, and the veiw!
