same here.. and it takes in 800w of solar.. where as the comparable brands and models like ecoflow only take 500w. im investing into a buck converter to use some standalone batteries with it in the future.
I got one to use as a UPS for my network and computer systems (the larger of which would generally be shut down quickly if the power fails, but even if not it can run for six hours during a power failure at lower levels of strain). That's a 20 amp input cord (not terribly useful on most 15-amp circuits in the US), and an Anderson solar panel connection as mentioned below. Overall, yes, for sub-four hundred, it's great.
I have my Mega 3 and its an amazing unit. ITs got enough power to run what I need for a full day Without the panels out. I'm planing on picking up all the battery's for it and getting some permanent panels instead of the fold outs it came with, and use it just to run my PC and reduce my electricity bill, so it pays for itself :)
I have one like it alot sometime some of us don't care for the app and the noise of the fans are ok some other brand have there ups and downs too but u can't beat the price got mines for alittle over 400
It's just a anderson connector real easy to find. Nothing to gripe about. I do agree with your fan gripe it should be based on actual heat. Personally don't care about apps got enough trackers in my life. Lol
Yeah, the AC cord uses a 20 amp connector vs the 15 amp connector that other power stations use. It's been around for decades. Notice that the AC plugs are also 20 amp plugs. It's not a bad decision to have the input match the output. The solar port is an Anderson port. It's also been around for a long time. Also, you do realize that peak is generally only meant for a fraction of a second, right?
i agree with the AC plug being proprietary. but calling an anderson port is wierd? lmao lolool. that cracked me up. is mc4 alien to you as well? i mean it comes with a mc4 to anderson.
I own both the Oupes Mega 1 and the comparable Bluetti AC180. The AC180 has a slightly larger battery, but no battery expansion port. It's a matter of what is most important to you. I do like the Mega 1, and I like the AC180 enough to own several. Both have been really solid. The fans on the Mega 1 are evident, but the pitch is not as annoying as other power stations. It's a bit of a trade off. I would rather have fan noise than overheating issues. Oupes does really need to get the Android app situation straightened out.
I have the Mega 1, no complaints here. I bought it because of the expansion capabilities as well as it was priced right.

Nicely done review. You didn't beat it up, just pointed out weaknesses and gave a price point where it's an OK buy. That's fair.
Thanks much

Anderson! That's what's it is called. First unit out of 15 that had odd ports
Good job. Good information. Thanks!

Good info. Thanx.

Totally makes sense.

nice video!!
Do you have any good recmmendations for a cheap propane generator?
I’ve only owned a gas buddy
Not a huge power station guy
But I’ll comment for the algorithm
Great review
Solid Vid
P. Thanks for the review. I’ll hold out for bluetti or allpowers for cheap 1024wh power station
