(Shadow) When he's saying the "I am you and you are me" I took it as Yoongi (the one in the crowd, the side of him that wants to be normal and not famous) singing to Suga (the one on the stage, who says he wants to be all the things like the king, the top, rapper ect.) It's 2 sides of the same man. A conflict of interests within himself. Also all the people with cameras are too busy filming Suga that they're not paying attention to Yoongi. PS. Singularity and Serendipity are from the Love Yourself album trilogy Her, Tear and Answer so these songs are introspective and center around finding the way to celebrate and love yourself - V’s singularity is from Tear and lis linked to Fake Love (purposefully not being yourself to be accepted by the one you love), Outro Tear and other songs. It also links to the BTS Universe story line. YOONGI’s Shadow is from the next chapter, Map of the Soul which explores BTS’s feelings in relation to Jungian psychological principles - here YOONGI is talking about the mixed feelings he has now that he has made it - reconciling with the shadow that is part of him and looms larger because the lights of fame shine brighter. When he is going backward it’s almost like he’s recoiling from the fame - in the end he faces himself.

V was my first bias because of two of the songs he did for k-drama soundtracks that were exactly my style (just recently discovered them) but after falling down the rabbit hole it is Suga all the way. I connect with his lyricism the most and love how he thinks and expresses himself. ❤

Shadow is one of my many favorite songs of Suga. It shows how he feels about his success and revealing his fears and his vulnerability, that theres always a trade in and sometimes success is scary. As youre in the top , you got no choice but sometines you have to embrace your shadow even if it means like , it is a part of you that you dont like it( its just my interpretation).
I didn't have a bias at first but then after when Suga dropped his album D-day all I can say is that I became obsessed I never expected that my love for him can evolve into something bigger
Another great reaction! While I love all seven guys, Yoongi does have my heart. His powerful and raw lyrics really touch me. He's been through so much and he shows us everything in his lyrics. And since he's been through so much he wants the younger artists to not go through all those hardships which is why he's such a great mentor to the younger artists at Hybe and prolly others not part of the company. I think you'll be blown away by his trilogy of songs, Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala! I was one of the lucky ones that was able to see him live this past April and wow, it was one of the best nights of my life. I can't wait until they are done with their military requirements and working as a group again in 2025/2026, and I'm hoping to be lucky again and finally attend a BTS concert...I missed out on Vegas because of a Ticketmaster glitch which I'm still salty about lol!!! 💜💜💜

I can’t wait for V’s solo stuff to be released. My expectations are high and I expect a lot of it to be sensual with a jazzy R & B feel. We will see if I’m right. His voice is so full and smooth. Jimin has probably the most recognizable voice because it is so different. I love listening to him, too. All four on the vocal line have amazing voices and compliment each other well. I love that they all support each other and want each other to succeed. They are basically brothers. Suga told JK on his show, Suchwita, that the members feel more like his family than his actual family and JK agreed. I think you will come to live Suga even more as you learn more about him. Yoongi! That man haa a chokehold on me. I always had a group, Jimin, yoongi, v, and jhope. They still do, but there's just something special about yoongi and whenever his parts come on or his songs I can't help but get caught in it. I actually got to go to his dday concert and it was honestly the most surreal and best experience. He's my comfort It's so hard to Choose fav BTS songs. Even though they have singles within the BTS albums in usually only think OT7 songs if I'm going to be choosing that over one person songs or only rapline/vocal line. They all get their own picks lol. I think my top group ones are heartbeat, louder then bombs, your eyes tell, bulletproof eternal (the stagemix is a killer), idol, beapsae, gogo, airplane pt.2 .... The first self is the one he'd consider the greedy, angry/wounded one, and the other self that is always trying to keep the former one in check and keep healing. Btw as you might now Suga had his solo Agust D tour around the world recently and he had one of the concerts livestreamed in the cinemas. Well being the simp I am, I obviously watched it, and man it was uplifting and heartbreaking, swag and miserable at the same time (in a good way), just like Min Yoongi himself. But. Shadow was one of the biggest surprises for me as I never really checked out on this song before that (not sure why as I know pretty much their whole discography), but when he performed it I literally broke down in tears, even though I had 0 clue what was it about haha (much like Spring Day lol). My biases are Suga and V! Very different genres, I know, but I like them for different reasons. V's music is very much my style, while Suga's lyrics touch my heart. My favorite songs from them are V's "Snow Flower" (jazzy) and Suga's "People"

I think an interesting context for additional interpretation of "you are me, i'm you" line from suga's song is the fact the song is connected to jungian take on psychology. The rough idea is human psyche consist of different parts, those inside us and those we show to the outer world. including a "shadow" - inner part of subconsciousness that contains things we try to repress and hide from others (like suga's fear and greed portrayed in this song). so here i would imagine yoongi's shadow and yoongi's consciousness are talking to each other and accepting each other as being one and the same. inseparable parts of a whole person. But I also agree with your interpretation. that could also be about fans, media and public following his every move, always watching and how scary that is. Especially as portrayed in the music video in that part.
The more you dig into their discography and solos,the more you will fall in love with them.I used just to love the vocal line ( Jin,Jimin,V and Jungkook) and not paying so much attention to the Rap line (Suga,Jhope,RM) since i don't really love hiphop,rap..but as i dig into them,its just angered me how childish i was thingking of that. Now i resonated the most to the Rapline songs,how personal,depth and dedicated they are.I don't really enjoy listening to hiphop,rap but they are the only exemption.I used to cry and be amazed of how are they so good. So Singularity is part of the album Love Yoruself: tear, which as a whole talks about loving yourself through another and how that isn't healthy for any relationship. & the whole Love Yourself triliogy (which serendipity is also part of just in LY: Answer) of albums is to teach the listener to love themselves entirely before trying to love another. In the simpliest terms they're saying "Put yourself first, and be yourself unapologetically. Before you give love to another, that way if they choose to leave your still fine" At least that's what I get from the series. 09:22 Penecilium is the blue colored mold they use to make penecilin the "miracle cure" antibiotic medicine. Also the Calico cat is significant because in Asian countries the 3-colored cat or calicos are a sign of good luck & Jimin mentions in the making of film that calicos are more often females so it means even more good luck that Jimin as a man is calling himself a calico cat. Also there uging the definition of Serendipity (the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way) and saying that even though the universe might not have meant for their love to happen it still has and should be embraced. In Interlude Shadow SUGA is expressing his ambition and his fear as one who went from the bottom to the top and not terriied that it could all crumble in an instant while simultaeniously being terrified of becoming even bigger as he already feels like others are putting on a pedastal. In addition to expressing his struggle with his mental situation of OCD, social anxiety, & depression. Each member expresses facing their ego and inner selfs in the Album that Shadow is part of Map of The Soul: 7 at least that's what i understand. As for you question at the end I feel like my favorite song is kind of a toss up based off of my mood, or what genre or message I want to listen to. So its kind of between, Fake Love, Run BTS, Serendipity, Amygdala, & Mikrokosmos most times
In Suga's Shadow at the end part where the heavy auto-tune was used, it was intentional because his "shadow" and "himself" were clashing. Thus, the lyrics that says "I am you, and you are me". The auto-tune emphasized the clash between himself and his dark side (shadow or the negativity that comes with the light/fame) and that he can't live without the other, therefore, he must accept his shadow because that is what completes him.

Hi Luna! I really liked what you had to say about the interpretation of Shadow (one of my all-time favorites as a Yoongi bias), and I think everyone sees it differently, which is fascinating. Here's my take: Shadow was not about the fans, it was about the world. Yoongi dreamed for so long of being successful, and when he finally achieved it he realized that it's maybe not all it's cracked up to be - it's terrifying, confining, dangerous. You can fall at any moment, and one wrong step can be your ending. This song, Shadow, is one part of a three-part series with the rapline based on Jungian psychology (which I won't get into cause it's complicated), but basically what he's really talking about is his own shadow, both physical and metaphorical. How, as he rises, as the spotlight gets brighter, the shadow grows and tries to destroy him. How he's afraid of losing himself in the fame. This song is just so GENIUS because to me (and I'm almost certain about this), that section where the beat changes and gets darker is his own shadow talking to him: "you are me, I'm you, now do you see" "we are one body" "you can never break me off, whatever you do" "admit it". I think the phones are not fans (who have always treated him with respect), but paparazzi, media, the industry, and all of the people who attack him, nitpitck his life, treat him as a doll with no rights, never let him have any peace. I think this song, essentially, talks about the dark side of fame: how the darkness grows just as the spotlight grows, and how, if you're not careful, you can lose yourself in it and the shadow can take over. One of the biggest things for me is how he sort of said that he's afraid of himself - "my growing shadow swallows me and becomes a monster". I think that he's saying that fame is uncontrollable, and in that sense, terrifying. He has no one to guide him, because no one has reached that same fame that he is, so he's alone, scared. This song means so much to me because it doesn't have to apply to fame only, but can also just be about when you have expectations about something and realize that maybe you made the wonrg choice, maybe you won't end up liking it after all. It's clearly very much telling his story, but I think it's really relatable, too. Anyway, that's my take! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, especially as someone who fell in love with Yoongi because of this exact thing (his music, his message, his honesty, his reliability, his goodness, etc.). This was also the song where Suga got me 😂 something about his lyrics and personality just reaches something in me, the way he’s soo vulnerable in his lyrics and he talks about mental health in a way that is so relatable to me. Singularity and Serendipity are from the Love Yourself album trilogy Her, Tear and Answer so these songs are introspective and center around finding the way to celebrate and love yourself - V’s singularity is from Tear and lis linked to Fake Love (purposefully not being yourself to be accepted by the one you love), Outro Tear and other songs. It also links to the BTS Universe story line.
YOONGI’s Shadow is from the next chapter, Map of the Soul which explores BTS’s feelings in relation to Jungian psychological principles - here YOONGI is talking about the mixed feelings he has now that he has made it - reconciling with the shadow that is part of him and looms larger because the lights of fame shine brighter. When he is going backward it’s almost like he’s recoiling from the fame - in the end he faces himself.

Shadow is one of my many favorite songs of Suga. It shows how he feels about his success and revealing his fears and his vulnerability, that theres always a trade in and sometimes success is scary. As youre in the top , you got no choice but sometines you have to embrace your shadow even if it means like , it is a part of you that you dont like it( its just my interpretation).

Another great reaction! While I love all seven guys, Yoongi does have my heart. His powerful and raw lyrics really touch me. He's been through so much and he shows us everything in his lyrics. And since he's been through so much he wants the younger artists to not go through all those hardships which is why he's such a great mentor to the younger artists at Hybe and prolly others not part of the company. I think you'll be blown away by his trilogy of songs, Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala! I was one of the lucky ones that was able to see him live this past April and wow, it was one of the best nights of my life. I can't wait until they are done with their military requirements and working as a group again in 2025/2026, and I'm hoping to be lucky again and finally attend a BTS concert...I missed out on Vegas because of a Ticketmaster glitch which I'm still salty about lol!!! 💜💜💜

Since you've zeroed in on Yoongi, you'll probably enjoy his trilogy of songs/MVs (he recommended watching them in order): Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala. It has a storyline of sorts surrounding the battle with himself about two personas or selves that reside within him. The first self is the one he'd consider the greedy, angry/wounded one, and the other self that is always trying to keep the former one in check and keep healing.
Since you asked about what song we consider 'ours', I'd have to say that mine is BTS's "Tomorrow." It's an older one but it's gotten me so many rough moments. Yoongi actually produced it!

Btw as you might now Suga had his solo Agust D tour around the world recently and he had one of the concerts livestreamed in the cinemas. Well being the simp I am, I obviously watched it, and man it was uplifting and heartbreaking, swag and miserable at the same time (in a good way), just like Min Yoongi himself. But. Shadow was one of the biggest surprises for me as I never really checked out on this song before that (not sure why as I know pretty much their whole discography), but when he performed it I literally broke down in tears, even though I had 0 clue what was it about haha (much like Spring Day lol). And now it's one of my favourites (bold of me saying that, having like 50 favourites from BTS 😂), merely because of hearing it semi-live. That's what this man is best at. I think an interesting context for additional interpretation of "you are me, i'm you" line from suga's song is the fact the song is connected to jungian take on psychology.
The rough idea is human psyche consist of different parts, those inside us and those we show to the outer world. including a "shadow" - inner part of subconsciousness that contains things we try to repress and hide from others (like suga's fear and greed portrayed in this song).
so here i would imagine yoongi's shadow and yoongi's consciousness are talking to each other and accepting each other as being one and the same. inseparable parts of a whole person.
But I also agree with your interpretation. that could also be about fans, media and public following his every move, always watching and how scary that is. Especially as portrayed in the music video in that part.

The more you dig into their discography and solos,the more you will fall in love with them.I used just to love the vocal line ( Jin,Jimin,V and Jungkook) and not paying so much attention to the Rap line (Suga,Jhope,RM) since i don't really love hiphop,rap..but as i dig into them,its just angered me how childish i was thingking of that. Now i resonated the most to the Rapline songs,how personal,depth and dedicated they are.I don't really enjoy listening to hiphop,rap but they are the only exemption.I used to cry and be amazed of how are they so good. My Ultimate bias is Taehyung/V cause of his voice and music,my bias is Namjoon/Rm and other 5 members are my biases.I love all of them so much. My favorite song of them was " Mikrokosmos" since it was the song that made me an Army. I can't really tell,you know all of their songs are amazing,its really hard to choose.Great reaction as always.Borahae.

So Singularity is part of the album Love Yoruself: tear, which as a whole talks about loving yourself through another and how that isn't healthy for any relationship. & the whole Love Yourself triliogy (which serendipity is also part of just in LY: Answer) of albums is to teach the listener to love themselves entirely before trying to love another. In the simpliest terms they're saying "Put yourself first, and be yourself unapologetically. Before you give love to another, that way if they choose to leave your still fine" At least that's what I get from the series.
09:22 Penecilium is the blue colored mold they use to make penecilin the "miracle cure" antibiotic medicine. Also the Calico cat is significant because in Asian countries the 3-colored cat or calicos are a sign of good luck & Jimin mentions in the making of film that calicos are more often females so it means even more good luck that Jimin as a man is calling himself a calico cat. Also there uging the definition of Serendipity (the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way) and saying that even though the universe might not have meant for their love to happen it still has and should be embraced.
In Interlude Shadow SUGA is expressing his ambition and his fear as one who went from the bottom to the top and not terriied that it could all crumble in an instant while simultaeniously being terrified of becoming even bigger as he already feels like others are putting on a pedastal. In addition to expressing his struggle with his mental situation of OCD, social anxiety, & depression. Each member expresses facing their ego and inner selfs in the Album that Shadow is part of Map of The Soul: 7 at least that's what i understand.
As for you question at the end I feel like my favorite song is kind of a toss up based off of my mood, or what genre or message I want to listen to. So its kind of between, Fake Love, Run BTS, Serendipity, Amygdala, & Mikrokosmos most times
In Suga's Shadow at the end part where the heavy auto-tune was used, it was intentional because his "shadow" and "himself" were clashing. Thus, the lyrics that says "I am you, and you are me". The auto-tune emphasized the clash between himself and his dark side (shadow or the negativity that comes with the light/fame) and that he can't live without the other, therefore, he must accept his shadow because that is what completes him.

I really liked what you had to say about the interpretation of Shadow (one of my all-time favorites as a Yoongi bias), and I think everyone sees it differently, which is fascinating. Here's my take:
Shadow was not about the fans, it was about the world. Yoongi dreamed for so long of being successful, and when he finally achieved it he realized that it's maybe not all it's cracked up to be - it's terrifying, confining, dangerous. You can fall at any moment, and one wrong step can be your ending. This song, Shadow, is one part of a three-part series with the rapline based on Jungian psychology (which I won't get into cause it's complicated), but basically what he's really talking about is his own shadow, both physical and metaphorical. How, as he rises, as the spotlight gets brighter, the shadow grows and tries to destroy him. How he's afraid of losing himself in the fame. This song is just so GENIUS because to me (and I'm almost certain about this), that section where the beat changes and gets darker is his own shadow talking to him: "you are me, I'm you, now do you see" "we are one body" "you can never break me off, whatever you do" "admit it". I think the phones are not fans (who have always treated him with respect), but paparazzi, media, the industry, and all of the people who attack him, nitpitck his life, treat him as a doll with no rights, never let him have any peace.
I think this song, essentially, talks about the dark side of fame: how the darkness grows just as the spotlight grows, and how, if you're not careful, you can lose yourself in it and the shadow can take over. One of the biggest things for me is how he sort of said that he's afraid of himself - "my growing shadow swallows me and becomes a monster". I think that he's saying that fame is uncontrollable, and in that sense, terrifying. He has no one to guide him, because no one has reached that same fame that he is, so he's alone, scared. This song means so much to me because it doesn't have to apply to fame only, but can also just be about when you have expectations about something and realize that maybe you made the wonrg choice, maybe you won't end up liking it after all. It's clearly very much telling his story, but I think it's really relatable, too.
Anyway, that's my take! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, especially as someone who fell in love with Yoongi because of this exact thing (his music, his message, his honesty, his reliability, his goodness, etc.). I'm also glad that you liked the other members! I'm Yoongi-biased, but I feel like the thing people get wrong about having a bias is that you like them more - I don't like Yoongi any more than the rest of the members, I just connect with him most. I love all of them so much and all of their music so much, and Singularity and Serendipity will forever be on my rainy day playlist! Anyway, thanks for this reaction! 💜

There’s a RUclips of him singing/rapping his song…omgosh..anyone help please…My Dear Friend I think is the title, he’s never shown this such of an emotional side to himself in public. I think his BTS members being there was RM who rapped and sang, , Jin and JHope who got to watch even though in the military, V and then having JK and Jimin also perform with him on previous days was emotional with ARMY backing him up. As a fellow Suga Bias, this was GREAT. This was also the song where Suga got me 😂 something about his lyrics and personality just reaches something in me, the way he’s soo vulnerable in his lyrics and he talks about mental health in a way that is so relatable to me. I love how introspective his solo songs are and how sometimes they just hit you right in the gut.
