im a cocaine addict from eastern europe and huge fan of madilynn and athena!!! everytime i get high on a session on vodka and gear i watch this series!!! BLESS
First off, welcome to my home state! ❤ second, make sure that you ALWAYS have your google maps set to ‘avoid tolls’ while out east. I avoid dozens of tolls on road trips using this amazing feature 🙏 and last thing, if you are willing to spend a little money for a campsite ($15-20 a night) then state parks out east are a great option for vehicle dwellers when you get tired of Cracker Barrel’s and planet fitness. Obviously it’s not ideal to spend money but I’ve always found the amenities (showers), beautiful trails and feeling of safety in the parks to be worth it. Take care! 🌸
I've been following all of you and it's been great seeing the three of you spend time together. Sorry to hear you also went through a break up, I had suspected it a while back from something you told Julia. Wishing you the best now and always. Stay safe and I look forward to you future adventures.
I liked this video b/c you seem very relaxed and happy; was expecting the video to be an experience in frustration based on the title. Relaxed & happy looks good on you! Stay safe 🤗
Thanks for Sharing... Mads you have such a gentle demeanor and that's why you have those long lasting friends like Julia & Rosa stay being real. be safe and see ya on the next one.
Absolutely love the outro! You never say bye and just that quick little bye makes it so much better! Yay for you! Loved the video, sorry for your break up, I’m glad you are staying close to friends. That will be good for you and hopefully you will meet some new long lasting friends while out that way. ❤😊 you will also appreciate the west coast and out that way more by missing it a little bit and being out east. I’m in Birmingham Alabama south and would love to be your friend lol, I’m a 49 yr old grandmother but I can still be a friend if you ever venture this way. I have kids your age! You are too sweet loved the video keep it up! Make them longer girl! Like 55 minutes lol. ❤😊
I almost ended the video without saying bye, but decided to slip it in there last minute hehe thank you Misty!! Always love to read your comments, you are so sweet! 😊
It's so good to see how much you have come out of your shell since I started watching your videos two years ago i think it was you look so relaxed now stay free hun from your fan's in the UK ❤
All I can say is that your dog is so beautiful and cute and please remember that you are a strong and amazing woman please stay safe and healthy love your Aussie family friend John xxx
My whole life I thought wawa meant Walmart.,.I'm in my 50s. "Having time alone allows me to appreciate the time I have with friends and the time with friends allows me to appreciate when I'm alone." Madilynn I will remember this and pass it on.
The east coast, especially New England, isn't designed for van life. That doesn't mean it's an awful place to live, it's just meant for a different lifestyle. I'm glad that you have friends to help you recharge cos being alone all the time isn't healthy. And there are plenty of awesome people who will appreciate a beautiful woman and her beautiful dog so I'm sure that you'll find a new special someone.
I'm up in PA, and I've stayed at Cracker Barrel a few times as well, never had an issue. Plus, they have amazing breakfast! Parking on the east coast is tougher, but our fall season is fantastic, my favorite time of year. I'm hoping to explore out west in the near future, only been as far as Colorado a few months ago.
Great video! Love seeing more people do van life on the east coast. I started living out of a truck camper this year, also on the east coast up in Connecticut.
If you’re still on the east coast go to jimmy John’s and get their pickle chips! SO SO GOOD! Yes east coast camping does suck. I live in Charleston sc and we can’t even park at Cracker Barrel’s or Wal Marts here but you can at the Lowe’s
You pretty much said all of my feelings about the East Coast and north east Van Life if not the entire East Coast. I’ve been doing from North Carolina to New Jersey recently. While it’s beautiful and the temperature is nice, lately, I can never relax, and I really feel no connection here with anyone. So it’s stressful and sad and after this job is done I’m probably just gonna have to get out of herealso traveling with a dog of 15 pounds. Thankfully, if you have a nice vehicle, you can just forget about the outside world and get lost in the flow state inside.
I second the comment about setting Google Maps to avoid tolls. They can rack up quickly, and in surprising places. I don't know if you're looking to collab or meet new people, but I've recently been following a channel called A Tiny Nomad. She is also on the east coast and somewhere in the neighborhood of Virginia and Kentucky. I have no connection to her, just feel like the two of you might vibe. Anyway, sorry to hear about your breakup and I hope the east coast gets more enjoyable for you. You are pretty much past gnat season, and late fall/early winter is actually one of the nicest seasons out here, especially for being relatively bug-free. I don't know how long you're planning to be in/near Virginia, but the coldest part of winter is usually from about Christmas to mid-May, with snow starting in mid-November to mid-January depending on altitude (the lower/coastal areas often don't get any snow) The coastal regions are nice this time of year, out of season but not really cold yet. There are a lot of nice state and national parks in the Blue Ridge between Staunton and the NC border. You might have more success finding campsites in the mountains by searching for off-road trails. Some of those are fire roads that are open to the public and usually pretty easy driving. I'd be lying if I said you could drive around and camp like you do out west, but there are people who off-road and car/truck camp, so it can be done. Hope you enjoy the rest of your time in the east!
Glad to see you back! East coast is best coast, clearly! Not enough people do east coast content, so its extremely in demand. I live/grew up in the hometown of the first Wawa, so its huge here, but I actually like Sheetz better after trying it finally last year. Would love to hear your take on the famous Sheetz vs. Wawa battle lol. Happy you're feeling better also. I was worried about you for a while there.
Its not too bad out here honestly, it’s very beautiful! I really want to try Sheetz and compare and if I do I’ll be sure to give you all my opinion 😂 thank you :))
We've been vanlifing in NC TN and GA since February. Hard finding spots but when you do, usually others don't know about them so less likely it's full. 🤠 Also in the south (unless they're not local) they usually won't come near your spot. Most spots are in a bear sanctuary, only locals and hunters usually camp there.
@madilynndawn we sweated lol. Crunk the SUV every hour throughout the 90° nights lol. We bathed in the cold creek and tried not to inhale bugs 😉 felt wild and free. Probably smelled it too tbh.
There are uncanny amounts of free car camping in VA. Any trailhead, BML land is everywhere, all down the beaches, Walmarts are uncountable. There are so so many free and safe car camping spots.
Hi, each state is quite duf in east coast, the closer to the coast the more traffic and ppl and less places to boondock..New England is much dif than south of there..I'm still in Oregon which is much dif than NH..east there is National Forest land, no. BLM..and most of NF is not plowed in winter so it's closed .yes paid and private there. Def more vanlife friendly in one, no doubt..enjoy and seeee ya round Dave
hola amiga! first off, at 8:50, with that faint sound of flies that you can hear and that stoic look on Athena's face, it's ike a creepy horror film. sweet. haha. second, thanks for uploading after the shit events last week. it's awesome you're feeling yourself lately. try your best to keep that vibe, but if you lose that vibe, don't panic too much. life is an ebb and flow, baby. stay safe!
I’ve slept at Walmarts 50 times, Loves 50 times, but a Cracker Barrel only once. It was ok! But it was in Nevada. They exist in the west LOL. But now I want to find some of that mythical western sweet tea! Haha! What exactly is “sweet tea”? I can super relate to balancing lone time and friend time. Happy/sad :)
You can set Google maps to not take you through toll booths. Yeah if you don't know the area it's going to be hard. Also Try Cabela's and Bass Pro shops. Some let you park over night. Your best bet is to ask the managers.
The East coast sucks so bad for people who want to live simple they force you to live like all of the other people in this horrible system. I am from NJ but moved out to Arizona just so I could live how I wanted to live. Apparently people like to perpetuate a system of rules and struggle and treat those who live simple like total ass… I have plenty of first hand experience when I comes to living off grid… I used to make a great ‘living’ as an engineer but chose to give all of that garbage up just so I wouldn’t have to conform to this absolute garbage government system. I am here for you dude keep up the great work and I totally understand 🤘🏼❤️
Hey how is the Chevy Astro? Like is it reliable/easy to maintain? Because I'm going to get a van soon, and then do this full time with my doggie friend.
I personally love my Astro and have not had any major problems *knock on wood*, but I can’t speak for others who have had issues. Just make sure you get a mechanic to check ur van before u buy please!! Unless you can work on it yourself
Unless you're in the boonies it's pay or hit asphalt parking lots that will heat to 150° in the sun like a big Walmart w/no shade and at 10 pm they are still 100° ppl walk their dogs on but ing asphalt and complain about the heat in vans when they are litterally parked on an oven ( not you ) too bad you couldn't hit Acadia in Maine it's a slice of PNW in New England no crowds now best sea food in the world..as I'm sure you know. Think I've been following you a few yrs and now I'm commenting from your neck of the USA..I'm off agate stealing and relaxing in 55° it gets very hot n humid where you filmed this, Va is mild in winter NH -25° in winter nights no problem..I was in Damen Pt WA for a month and became a beach comber bumb and I'm cool with that😀 lots of starfish n agates....be safe ..
Three beautiful young women who became great friends, I guess just because of their interest in trying out van life? 😊 -- Also, I hear about WaWa and its major competitors all being so great, and I have yet to experience any of them 🙁
Oh my gosh! I just went to Shenandoah today in my van. I genuinely have really loved my experience on the east coast, but I haven’t done west coast yet so nothing to compare it to I suppose. And I do prefer being around others than being isolated. But also WHERE IS THE DILL PICKLE SALAD FROM?!?! 🤍
It’s honestly not that bad over here, i definitely was prepared for it to be worse than it is, but there’s national forests to camp in too, which is great :) the salad is from the Taylor farms brand!

The east also has more history too I think. Would love to see these women visit historic towns and such, but that might not be their thing.
Whenever someone mentions WaWa I always thought they were talking about Wal-Mart too.Nice to have good friends.
I’m glad I’m not alone in this 😂

goto the Mothman Museum haha
The east coast is pretty ghetto. Other travel channels have had a lot of problems there. I think the Rocky Mountains and the Southwest are the best.
You need to string that guitar 🎸 more often 🫶
Yes please
Wear that outfit every day if you want to 😍
Lol, good for thumbnails for sure 🙂
