Actually, Blackline X Powered are in line with JBL SRX and QSC KW in terms of Martin's product tiers. CDD-Live are one step above, in line with VRX and KLA.
The lightest active 18" subwoofer I know of that was promised packed serious punch was the Barefaced LF1400, although they were discontinued due to lack of the amp modules being available. But weighing only 53 lbs, they were half the weight of the Martin Audio one.

These blacklines look to me like a scaled down version of the XD line, the differnce being the XD can take more power and have waterproof cones so can be used outside! It is also worth mentioning that they are more than twice the price when you concider you need a seprate amp plus a dsp unit! I have been quoted £5,000 for the blackline and £12,000 for the XD line! I would love to do a A/B on them.

Lol Oye fellow Latino entertainer giving you some advice if not had. Do you where earplugs to lower your db intake. You don’t want to lose any of your precious hearing when you in your late 40’s like me. lol You might not think you need them, but la edad can definitely creep up on you! I have a 2 pair clear set of ear plugs from Sam Ash. I paid like $50 for them. And as an MC they definitely help!!! I don’t want to see you stop doing what you love brother!!🤙👍🤙 Pa lante!!
Always loved Martin. Used to be in a Cover Rock Band many years ago before my DJ days and we had Martin Sub Scoops for bottom end and JBL up top. They worked good but they were really heavy. Only one dealer in Canada for them and they are in Quebec. Too far for me to go listen too but looking forward to one day listening to them..

I think Martin audio is the best speaker ever created in the world.ihave some ict300 and they are the best.if I did have the money I would put together the best sound system in the world with Martin audio.they are loud and clear.no speaker I have listen to give that clarity.
Martin Audio is decent but nowhere near the best when it comes to compact point source. The real best are d&b audiotechnik (E, Y and V series with E15-X, B6 or V-GSub) and L’acoustics X/A series with SB15/SB18/KS21. They’re a good bit pricier than the Martin stuff though. d&b Y7p is

SLM Entertainment Martin Audio measure half space though where d&b measure full space (-3dB in HF and -6dB in LF compared to 2pi). If everyone measured using M-noise, we’d be a lot further forward! E12 is still lighter, louder and has a wider frequency response on paper. Dispersion control on Y7p is better by 1 octave than CDD15, that’s what makes it a better speaker. I run Q7 (discontinued) and I’d say the replacement Y is actually a downgrade in comparison, but Q sits between Y and V when looking at dispersion control (V=250hz, Q=400hz, Y=500hz, 15” drivers = 1khz). I also run E12-D for wide dispersion and E8 for small events, monitors and fills. I’ve a/b tested with tons and nothing comes close when you consider how portable these boxes are. Q7 is a big jump up from E12s purely because of the dispersion control though, especially when running live mics or if you’re likely to get noise complaints. You also find it’s more consistent moving from room to room because the reverberant space is less excited.

Both are rated for 122 continuous, 128 peak crest factor 2, 134 peak crest factor 4. The E12 is lighter, but it is also passive and a plastic box whereas CDD Live 12 is powered and wooden. If you look at solely pattern control, yes Y7p and Q7 have better pattern control than CDD Live.
