I 100% feel you on the rage input switching. That was the hardest part of me learning MnK. I'd lose battles I had no business losing to just because I had to learn I'd sometimes switch midmatch and be a completely different player. Glad that I stuck through it and can actually play it much better now even though I can still grab my trusty controller if need be. I'm liking the improvements on your end as well. Good job.
Im trying to learn how to play on controller so far i want to buy controllers with extra buttons haha i really miss tona of buttons and options in MnK but i manage somehow. In boss rooms i switch to the MnK to hit all of my Fire and Forget bullets it is weird how some weapon's feeling changes based on your input. I have never thought one input is superior than other yeah but they have different feelings smgs and Last word are different weapons on each inputs...
@@qualichor1222 yes but 3k+ hours in d1 on controller and starting d2 on controller till it came to pc now 5+ years later having to relearn controller is but a forgetting from where you came situation.. With close to 10k in the series on controller cammi realistically Has more time on the sticks then MnK.
Cami I really appreciate you making this video as a long time controller player who's kind of dwindled in my ability to play first person shooters with age and working Blue collar jobs I'm glad that you go through the same struggles when it comes to trying to coach yourself into being what you used to be you're an amazing contact Creator and a great player at destiny don't stop what you do brother
16:20 This whole segment is a really nice touch Cam. I try and keep this same mentality. I think its human nature that most of us will feel frustrated when we aren't perfect or successful with something we are passionate about. I think most of us get mad in the moment, but we aren't mad at the person, we're mad at the gun. Great video as usual.
I’ve been frustrated as a console controller player in Trials lately doing crossplay with my all-PC clan. I needed this, especially the well-worded bit at the end, today.
Controller on PC main here, I map certain functions to simultaneous presses of multiple inputs to help alleviate the need for double clicks. I have my dodge and dive on A+X (Jump+Reload) which are my two back lower paddles. I mapped my super to B+Y (Powered Melee+Weapon Swap) to alleviate accidental super activations and to counteract a faulty melee button (RB broke). You can remap functions to double inputs in Destiny’s menus. Hope this helps - Rat King main
As one who had played r6 for 5 years with no aim assist, aim assist just felt bad an games especially sniping on cod. I play on pc now and am getting into destiny again after so long. Used to watch u in the d1 days luv ya ❤
I've been on a 4 sensitivity for a long time, but since my recent delve into actually making an attempt at getting into pvp a little that's no bueno. I'm now on 8 with a .6 and it feels better but I'm trying to eventually get to at least a 10 so this is def inspiring 💜
Honestly, if you want to go 10, jumping straight there and learning earlier may help more, but that's just me. I went from 10 to 20 as soon as beyond light hit, but going from 75 to 105 field of view made it feel the same.
Your bit about having an internal coach is exactly how I feel in reverse. I've been a controller main pretty much my entire life so occasionally trying out MnK has consisted of a lot of "ok, you have to keep tracking the target" or "remember how much mouse movement you need to hit this angle" type thoughts. I'd love to hear more about your controller mapping, though. I've been needing to do some serious remapping because my current setup has Charged and Uncharged melee on the same bind which is abysmal for smoke bombs and has gotten me killed many times (I'm a Titan main though, so I haven't had to think about it until I've played more Hunter recently).
Hang in there, it'll come with time. This reminds me of back when I moved from PC to Xbox to play Halo 3 with some friends & I STRUGGLED to aim with thumb sticks. I was convinced I would never learn & was so frustrated.
Can highly recommend Finisher on the d-pad (probably up or left if you're on Xbox controller, down if you're on PS5) - since it stops all your movement anyway it's not a huge issue to take your thumb off the stick I find, and still lets you use that button for an emote in all other situations
People that think controllers are free wins is just ignorant and never tried the input device. I've been a KBM main my whole life that switched to controllers in the past couple of years and I can confidently say my KD was better on KBM and that movement and aiming is more pinpoint and precise, but I enjoy the challengs that come with mastering the sticks and plus the comfort and ergonomics just can't be beat. So every time I see a competent and skilled controller main, it just makes me appreciate them even more.
Hey I appreciate these efforts as a console controller player,a lot of the times watching content or streams of say oh my character won’t do that or a gun is suggested as op and I put it on and it’s uncontrollable soo I appreciate you going to controller to have a better idea of what the community plays!👍
As a player who lives in an area thats just unfortunately never going to have better than 50 ping, I feel this. I get so salty watching Cammy's gameplay because player skill and aim aside, he's constantly doing things that just wouldn't work if I did it because of ping. He'll slide back into cover or jump over someone and melee them and I know that if I did it I'd get shot through the wall or punched by their corpse. I had a match the other day where everyone in it was actually close enough to get good ping and its like playing a completely different game. Those matches are like once a year for me, and its absurd how much that little bit of ping affects. I don't know how people with good ping and good aim ever die.
I usually bind dive abilities to a single press of the crouch button because you will never want to crouch and dive or Icarus dash at the same time, the only down side is your dive can sometimes come out when you don’t want it to if you walk off a very tiny ledge or something
I just bind mine to the dodge button. That way the only class that does it is revenant, and it's not such a big deal that I have to remove my thumb off the stick to do so because I'm not aiming the weapon at the same time, and I can be fast enough to press it anyway that it's not a bad tradeoff.
@@Manstrual that’s not a bad option but my class abilities are bound kinda weird but it works for me I have my class ability bound to a single press of triangle and circle at the same time so it would basically be the same thing for me I also play mostly the base control scheme no jumper or anything like that
@@lyle7836 I played spellbreak a bit before it died, and the only other option for jump was left bumper. I got so used to it that now I play all FPS games like that. It's stupid how an underdeveloped game forced a change on the way I play, but it's not a bad one.
@@Manstrual nothing weird about it, the reason I use triangle and circle for my class ability option comes from a fighting game background specifically street fighter 4 it was used for focus attack so that button combo is really familiar to me, I know street fighter not an underdeveloped game but still kinda the same thing as you where saying
as someone who plays only controller but has tried mouse and keyboard in the past a key thing I have noticed at least about handcannons is that you should prioritize getting as high of handling on handcannons as possible. I personally use 91 handling and rangefinder hawkmoon as my favorite handcannon but I have a cantata with a similar roll that feels just as good. The high handling really helps keep your shots steady from the weird visual recoil that controller has.
I'm a card carrying handling hoorr, too. Mostly cause i'm a cliche apparently (20/0.7 :p), I'm constantly back and forth between ads and hip, and swapping to clean up a totally intentional blint ;)
@@Sham-xe5nh because you didn't read what I said. I literally never said it helps stability I said it helps keep your shots steady which on controller often has to do with micromovements to make sure your aim assist is pulling properly. Which are hard to do on a low handling weapon as it becomes easy to over adjust or under adjust due to the sluggish feel. It is something that doesn't need to be explained to someone who is using a controller as you will feel it instantly. Also it helps aim down sights quicker which is essential on controller as hip firing is very inconsistent. That is why I did not elaborate. But since you want to try and make others feel like they are stupid for agreeing with something you don't understand I had to explain.
@@WGG-01 not sure why this is so confusing to you but handling does NOTHING to improve the steadiness of your shots. Go read a destiny 2 wiki or something. It isnt rocket science. Handling only affects draw time, stow time, and ADS time. Nothing else. Do not bother replying to me again
@@WGG-01 handling has nothing to do with steadying shots, it only affects ready, stow, and ads times. Anything you feel is placebo. Landing shots in a row is all on the stability of the weapon and your aim
For those unaware there seems to be a bug that you don't need pages to get weapons from the haunted lost sectors. From the TWAB it seems Bungie is aware of the "issue" and so it may get patched next Tuesday.
I mean I used to exclusively use sunshot + heritage and managed to get top 500 in rumble with it so it's really not that bad of a build. But yeah as someone who used to play a hell of a lot of rumble I would really appreciate a video that says what I've been thinking for years that there are certain loadouts that, if you are the only person using them, it is almost impossible to lose with (looking at you ace of spades). Really looking forwards to that video.
That’s how I feel about trying to learn m&k, I try to stick with it through games but it’s hard to force myself to when I know I can play so much better on controller
Such a cool concept. I broke my wrist in may. I just recently got out of the cast. Last 6 six weeks was after surgery. I used controller like a lunaric during 5 months. Was 100% mnk planer. And Im aaalmost comfortable using it in PvP. But jumped on mnk pretty fast for pvp. All pve activites is still on controller. 🤣
Thanks for using controller !! Can't wait for more detailed updates on it because I can relate since I'm a controller player and I know guns feel different on the inputs so I'll get more accurate details that'll apply to me since you'll have controller info too
10:17there is a way to do all those binds comfortably. Right stick is dodge and shatter dive, Neutral melee is down on Dpad. Or vice versa, with charged melee on down dpad and keep your neutral melee on R1/RB. The only sacrifice is just an emote
Can agree to what is said in the video. Main controller and sensitivity is a very big factor that determines consistency for controller ( personally I run max sens on every game i play).
I've got the perfect controller binds for stasis hunter for you and anyone else interested, tuned it to absolute perfection (For me at least.). I'll only list the bindings that were altered. Everything else for general gameplay is pretty much unchanged. Shatter dive: Press- Hunter dodge: Double press. Both bound to B. (Crouch is no longer a function here, I tried dodging out of a fight after gunning down an invis hunter who threw a smoke at me, looked like I was bagging them.) Less stress on your hand should you claw-grip. Charged melee: RB- Uncharged melee: Mapped to Right Paddle. (My controller's paddles need button functions to be mapped. Example Hold crouch for sliding and crouch spamming is bound to Down D-Pad, mapped to left paddle.) Makes slide shots very consistent.
As a in and out controller player I can say it takes a second to learn it, especially when people got good movement but honestly just don't try as hard it will come to you
Hey Cammy, just wanted to comment on your binds that you were talking about around 9:30, where you noted that hunter dodge was single click on right stick, while air move/shatterdive is a double click on it, and you wished there was an easier bind. Because dodge is only available while grounded and shatterdive is only available while airborne,These two inputs are mutually exclusive, meaning that if the game will allow you to bind them both to a single click input, it shouldn't cause any double-bind issues. I'm just a scrub M&K player so I have no experience with what binds are allowed, but this might take some of the delay out of the shatterdive input if it's possible to double bind like this.
The inputs are mutually exclusive, but destiny isn’t smart enough to realize this, and it doesn’t let you bind both at once. The only way to do this is to edit the settings file manually, which is what I’ve done, and it works pretty well for me. (Sometimes I put a rift down in the middle of a gunfight when I meant to Icarus Dash though)
@@landslide8703 nope I have dodge and shatterdive bound to the same button with no issues, you dont need to do anything special. It comes up with a warning when you do it but you just hit accept.
It's viable. If you need to dodge immediately after hitting the ground, you simply misplayed. Should always try to shatterdive to be evasive before you get yourself in that situation.
Cammy, I think your process and training is impressive, but I also think you might be overthinking it. When I decided I was gonna play controller, I picked up the controller and played as best I could and naturally learned. I didn't think to deep into certain processes and strats.
bro when i switched to pc i wanted to learn mouse and key, I was decent but not a top tier players like i am on controller and this video makes me wanna put the time in to finally just put my head down and grind....ill put an update in a month and we'll see how it goes
I love Destiny's multi-button bind capability, it's let me get the consistency of mnk on controller without using steam to rebind some of my double button binds: LT + Y - power weapon Y + B - energy weapon Y + X - kinetic weapon X + A - class ability A + B - super LT + A - air move (bound this way for all 3 class mobility options) LT + RB - powered melee (unpowered melee is just RS, so this is basically ADS + grenade) it always looks like a lot to folks but it's SO much better than relying on the context cues of normal controls and it allows me to be more intentional with certain things (like pulling out energy weapon from power weapon with a single input)
On console you can bind different actions to the same key. You can't dodge/barricade/rift in the air. So if you're in the air - those actions are unavailable. That opens up putting your in air action on the same keybind. So on Revenant - you can dodge on the ground or shatterdive in the air using the same keybind. You can do the same idea with Warlock with icarus dash/phoenix dive on the rift keybind.
hell yeah cammy keep grinding bruh this week in trials was so dead with cod and overwatch this was the hardest and most satisfying flawless run I ever got fucking matched zk and frost TWICE
The reason I stuck with controller aside from comfort on my body was mastering 'pc' weapons like ace, DMT pre nerf 1, Thorn, Lumina pre buff, Sunshot and also shooting sidearms full spam with Icarus instead of full auto to make sure I actually hit my crits and tracking auto rifles to consistently hit heads as well, then I gave up caring and started using Cerberus cos who gives a shit about aiming anymore
I actually think the reason you feel you need a lower sensitivity is from the giant controller deadzone. Wish someone would talk about this. Recently switched to steam from Xbox so I could use the controller configure tool and Destiny 2 feels brand new.
forgive me if this was mentioned and I missed it: I'm commenting as a PC controller main, and taking into consideration the non-competitive nature of D2, accessibility and budget concerns/constraints, the Razer Wolverine Ultimate is a great choice for mitigating the high sens precision aim issues because the software (while admittedly rather janky) allows for sensitivity clutching (on Xbox as well). The placement of the additional left bumper means that you can choose to clutch/not clutch and hipfire/ADS with one finger. I personally got the muscle memory down in a week or so of play. for me, playing at 20 sens, 1.0 ADS, and a "-4" in "Focus" mode w/ the software, this means I can turn really quickly, clutch down to manageably hipfire, clutch down while ADSing to duel, and ADS w/o clutching to quickly scan and round corners. it's been a game-changer, literally. the downside for me has been that all other controllers are now weirdly missing that button, but as a long time Razer Nostromo user as well, I'm used to having to rebind everything for my weird controller. anyway, play how you want to play, have fun, great video, and don't forget to floss
Really just gotta get used to knowing what you’re capable of doing on controller (I don’t mean your current skill capability but what your controller will limit you to doing), being in positions that will be advantageous to controller input (AA catches on very well when you’re within intended ranges of specific weapons) as well as putting yourself in a position where a MnK player won’t break your ankles, and just being able to FEEL the AA work it’s magic. Being able to trust it and time your shots properly. For me at my peak, I didn’t even need to SEE the enemy on my screen, as long as I had enough context clues to get the general idea of where they are, I could make a looonngggg 180 flick and nail them almost every time because I was THAT in-tune with it. Now I have 2 kids and barely get to play games lol :P
Hearing someone describe rat king as part of the illegal weapons is a wonder to me as an enjoyer of it: I’m glad it’s at least recognized as a “bonjour”
Hey Cammy! Quick question: Which controller have you been using? Not suggesting that a hammer makes a blacksmith - or buildsmith in your case ^^ - but Razer has some very cool stuff. Wolverine tournament edition has only 2 paddles/back buttons but comes with 2 extra shoulder buttons - real nice for jumping without sacrificing camera control or busting your hand to play claw - and a built in option to "override" sensitivity, speeding it up or slowing it down. Can't remember what the functions are called but it allows you to play with a sen that works for you and, if needed be, speed it up for both sticks during a shotgun rush, for example. Or trigger it to normally play on high sens and trigger a slower one for long lane snipes, that kinda of stuff. Steep learning curve, for sure, but it's a very interesting system.
Cammy! You gotta give travelers chosen a go in rumble. I’ve been running that with a high discipline build with getaway artist and there’s insane synergy. I’ve been pairing it with a snipe to supplement some occasional long angles or with inquisitor for short range ones.
i just picked up a wolverine chroma 2 from razer and have been learning it on pc. very different playstyle, the 2 days ive been using it, i had a dramatic improvement. even just on the second day alone i went from still learning to look around and sort of aim to actually playing and just being a little sloppy. im excited to have a new challenge to master in the game
I love seeing you play on controller again. And here's my contribution to the algorithm; It's a "mechanical play" on 'macabre' which is French, not Spanish; So there's no 'brey' sound on the end and it's pronounced 'Meck-Arb'
I used to run 5 sens on console but once they added the ads sens modifier I switched to 12 with a .5 ads modifier so that I’m aiming at basically the same sens that I used to play without having to worry so much about turning slowly against jumpers and shotgun players and things. Honestly I won’t ever go back.
I recently got to play a game of tf2 with a gyro aim controller (ps4 controller using the gyroscope to move crosshair) and its honestly incredibly jarring for a good two hours but you can make some nasty flicks once you are used to it. The problem with it is that you need to use one button on your already limited selection of buttons to ratchet your aim to turn around. There is a good video by a guy named Solarlight on gyro controllers in mainly pc games. If you just type in solarlight gyro controller it should come up.
Left stick press classic sprint , right stick press slide and crouch , 4 back buttons what copy the 4 front buttons - basiclly the standard layout(musclebrain trained since Halo 1) . Hunter doge , warlock rift and titan barricade are triggered on a single button press. Charged and uncharged mele is mapped on the same shoulder button(did that for my Titan Dungeon Bonk build).Revive is on the right shoulder button - so i can still shoot at the same time. Thats it...i am open for some optimizations ...PS.: Controller Masterrace - lol - is that the reason why Drew switched to M/K ?
I use a standard controller with 20 sens, and essentially bumper jumper tactical. However, dodge/air dodge is single tap B. 20 sens with a kontrolfreek. Looking at 3rd person gameplay of 20 sens looks like m&k, but first person says otherwise. It's a strange game we play.
I would like to see Cammy use both controller and mouse together. Get the full range of movement with pinpoint accuracy. The only pain is setting up key bindings to work between the two.
started practicing Mouse and keyboard and wished I started earlier. I have been using controllers for all my life 20+ years and controllers are easy to use to me to now I can even try to play with one hand, and with mouse and keyboard I get customize and my actions in the game just having difficulty with the keyboard because my aiming is with my left and keyboard with right. I can play with right but am much comfortable with aiming with left. all the devices have their advantage but i feel like there's a limit to controller even with pro-controllers, while KnM is everything is one
I would like to see how you manage your options on controller. I have just an averege Xbox one controller and I wanna know which options work the best for it, because I know people who play on regular controllers and beat ass in trials with sick movement and stuff but I don't know where to start ^^" I enjoyed this video and thank you Cammy
buying a controller with paddles/back buttons really is ideal, stuff like the fps strikepack that plugs into the back of a controller is an option if ur on a budget tho if ur gonna stick with the regular controller then look into changing your binds at least. anything that let's u jump and slide without taking ur thumbs off the stick will already put u ahead of most players
13:00 I feel that, when i play controller, it feels so restricted and slow, when It's so automatic on kb+m. I get tired after a session on controller since I have to think more and do more weird things to input a specific thing
I played on controller ever since I was a kid playing halo but it never felt right to me, about a year ago I switched to mnk and after a week I was on par with my controller skill and now it’s hard to imagine I ever played controller, anytime I switch back I feel like I can’t do what my brain wants to do, so it’s always funny to hear people say controller is op on games like destiny or apex since my experience was the opposite
Hey cammy On on controller myself, I definitely understand what you are saying because m+kb is awkward for me to use and just not feeling used to the input device its a major struggle. I wouldn't even know where to begin or to adjust settings on m+kb or whats considered best. I'm also on laptop so keyboard can 't really be "moved/rotated" to a more comfortable position, and its kept me on controller because of it. If you have an old video or a topic discussing m:kb ill definitely appreciate it
I have a laptop setup for travelling: a laptop stand just to elevate the screen a bit, a wireless 60% keyboard that goes *behind* the stand and a wireless mouse with a mousepad. I rest my arms on the table alongside the laptop. It's IMO the best way to play MnK on a laptop without needing a secondary display.
I just started full time mnk last month after doing controller for D2 coming from console to pc. My movement and traversal on maps are good but aiming and strafing is hard. I either aim and forget to tap strafe or vice versa. Last week during trials freelance I went 5-2 mnk and switched to controller and went 7-1 and got my flawless. I would try to improve more on mnk but its hard to play control when its stacked sweatfest most of the time
A recomendation id give. Turn the sensitivity up high, and the aim sensitivity kinda low. I have always played on controller since y1 d1 and i used to play on lower sensitivity but I turned it up to 16 sensitivity with .6 aim, and .7 sprint turn scale. Primary because one of the biggest pain is the turning scale sensitivity outside of ADS. Also, puppeteer as the controller layout is a really good option. Makes the dodge (and shatter dive and things) a push down on controller.
Check out the razor chroma v2. 4 paddles, 2 extra shoulder buttons in good spots. All mechanical switches. Had one for a year and some change, love it.
on controller, 11 sens 0.5 ADS. gives me enough sens to compete with PC players as I play on Steam while having good recoil control and precise aim with the low ADS sens value. also putting abilities like icarus dash, titan dodge to 1 tap button makes it so much easier
you said you have 4 paddles? Have you tried using combo binds? I use the bumper jumper control scheme by default, then modified it to fit my scuf reflex. my uncharged melee is bound to clicking right stick and my charged is bound to X (playstation) which is one of my paddles. and I bound my super to X + R1 (my grenade) so i can't accidentally cast my super on any sort of hold melee (thunderclap) or by using my charged melee multiple times in a row (tiny hammer).
Cammy have you tried using DPAD for any of your controls? You might have to learn to double claw in situations, but its suge a huge option. I also use a "modifier button" for my controls, which I made my L2/LT, I use it for my class ability, alternative reload, charged melee, and super. It's a lot nicer than having inputs on buttons held or double tap
I wish Bungie would add in something like flick stick and gyro aiming as controller input. I want to use it on PC but the hacky way you have to do it and the way it'll break all my pc keybinds/break the menus is a massive barrier. It's kind of bonkers to me that Nintendo of all companies is the only one embracing the improvement to controller aiming that gyro provides. Even Nintendo hasn't implemented flickstick yet though. A game as big as Destiny implementing something like flickstick would be huge. With Sony's controller being capable of gyro control while Microsofts isn't, bringing flickstick-gyro into Destiny 2 would be a massive incentive for console players to use the Playstation over the XBOX. And those of us on PC could benefit from this by being able to set it up without breaking the input system.
I used to have it like that, but didn't like the accidental icarus dashes. I'd recommend putting it on a button you press with your right thumb, because dives and dashes are aimed with the left stick
I appreciate you playing console Cams. But one of the few things I'd like to point out is how bungie basically doesn't care ab console anymore. At least it feels that way. I currently play at 20 sense bc I enjoy the fast pace gameplay. But like you said it's a struggle to actually always be precise. Why tho? It's bc of the lack of setting options. The deadzone for console is at 23% that's absolutely ridiculous. It would be fine if it was the entire player base on console, but when they let cross play into the game all they gave us was 10 extra sense and a aim down multiplier. And it's still not enough. I play along w my friends who just stick to MnK which I don't do bad in those lobbies (I say "those lobbies" bc if you pair up with just one MnK player, whether they join you or you join them, the entire lobby will mostly be MnK) but as soon as we get into those harder lobbies I cannot compete with my handconnon and shotgun. I end up playing in the back with my pulse (which is boring asf imo). There's obviously tons of other settings that the devs can add onto console but just by simply adding a deadzone setting, everything can change. For example. Look at Call of Duty, apex legends, overwatch etc these games make it so console and pc can go against each other hand in hand and they try their best to make both platforms even, i just dont see why bunjie cant make such a simple change🤷♂️. Again, thank you for trying out console.
Currently learning Mnk. Movement is nice. Aiming a little difficult. My fingers hurt lol. I turn my look sensitivity up on my controller now because of my mnk experience. Being able to quickly do a 180 is nice. Anyways aiming on mnk like Linear, snipers and bows were difficult for me. I use Wolverine Chroma v2 for controller having the paddles on the back and extra bumper buttons are helpful. I hardly ever take my thumbs off the thumbsticks lol.
Im very interested in an "illegal rumble loadouts" video. I use striker titan with a lightweight shotgun and kill clip horrors least and cheesiest of all, antaeus. It feels pretty illegal but not quite as cheesy as the lorentz and arby spam thats everywhere.
Shoot to loot on the crisis inverted? How much mileage do you think you are getting from it compared to its other perks? Would love to hear your thoughts as its one of my favorite guns.
I've been a keys faithful most my life. Haven't really played on console since D2 dropped on PC. But, I really wish that they would make MnK available for folks on consoles for all games really. Just seems like something that should be integrated into console development by now to me. But, I'm a PC playing lime so what do I know right? Edit: just felt compelled to add that I feel like my fingers turn into hotdogs when I pickup a controller.
As someone who went from Console to PC in shadowkeep, and now back to console in Season Of Plunder... I've ALWAYS wished we could 100% turn off aim assist on controller.
i haev reload mapped to R3 and dodge to a back button. Takes too long to double press, and dodge needs to be instantaneous at times. So my back buttons are crouch/jump/dodge/swap weapon.
i sit in the top 1% and sometimes hit the top500 ranges on console, i've played xim and used to use a cronus but ever since you needed a belator to bypass SONY's restrictions i've quit and went full vanilla, no cronus no paddles no xim nothing just a dualshock 5 i play 20 main sens with variable aim sens, in pvp I have my aim at 20 and in pve i drop it to 15, and it works well for me, i've hit champion in R6s and top 500 in ow1 a few times and I play extremely high sensetivities with max fov's when available (105-120) i use right stick to couch on HOLD, jump is default (x/a) and dodge/rift/barricade is default (O/B) I have jump double bound to pressing left stick also, my uncharged melee is R1/RB and charged is both sticks at the same time, my nade is L1/LB, reload/interact is on tap/hold (square/X) as default my super is individually bound with right dpad, down dpad is my air dodge and shatterdive, finisher is also crouch, both bumpers make me also air dodge or shatterdive it's jank as fuck, my up dpad and left dpad are emotes, and everything is on "contexual tap" type binds with everything on use/overlap if you've played warzone you'll get it also, touchpad is ghost obviously edit: I also play with pc clanmates and lfg pc half of my time in trials, so i'll happily say i'm pretty damn okay there but I don't succeed nearly as much, 2300-2500 elo against pc players is literally me being a baby and they take my fucking candy
@@HAHAd2 tldr am good console gamer pretty okay pc gamer, jank control scheme dumb high sensetivity, double claw or "octopus claw" all binds set to tap when available, several crossbinds and overlap binds for situations that may need them ex. in air after casting super easier to shatterdive with bumpers instead of d-pad type jank
The only problem I have with controller after all my playing is the aim assist. I wish I could turn it off, whenever there is more than 1 person and they are in close proximity my aim assist will drag my entire reticle to the person I'm not aiming at, it probably sounds weird but I have lost a lot of fights from people holding hands and my aa just sticking to someone. It'll also just move my reticle automatically when someone passes through it sometimes its annoying
Good job.
It's a struggle but it's the biggest part of why discipline is so rewarding.

He's simply regrowing them
Man may have only read the headline here 😂

Has more time on the sticks then MnK.
As of man , that is so rude to say . Cammy isn't a sell out

Hey I have a question, is there a way to auto sprint just by moving forward like on other games? Or do we have to press r3
You got such a good vibe man I’m not the best at destiny 2 with a 1.0 kid in trials but you help me love the game and wanna get better
I usually bind dive abilities to a single press of the crouch button because you will never want to crouch and dive or Icarus dash at the same time, the only down side is your dive can sometimes come out when you don’t want it to if you walk off a very tiny ledge or something
Same ^
I just bind mine to the dodge button.
Handling does literally nothing for recoil or stability lol hows this have 6 votes
If you're even a little off the ground like after a slide it activities shatterdive so it's not viable :(
@@landslide8703 nope I have dodge and shatterdive bound to the same button with no issues, you dont need to do anything special.
I love Destiny's multi-button bind capability, it's let me get the consistency of mnk on controller without using steam to rebind
some of my double button binds:
LT + Y - power weapon
Y + B - energy weapon
Y + X - kinetic weapon
X + A - class ability
A + B - super
LT + A - air move (bound this way for all 3 class mobility options)
LT + RB - powered melee (unpowered melee is just RS, so this is basically ADS + grenade)
it always looks like a lot to folks but it's SO much better than relying on the context cues of normal controls and it allows me to be more intentional with certain things (like pulling out energy weapon from power weapon with a single input)
On console you can bind different actions to the same key. You can't dodge/barricade/rift in the air. So if you're in the air - those actions are unavailable. That opens up putting your in air action on the same keybind. So on Revenant - you can dodge on the ground or shatterdive in the air using the same keybind. You can do the same idea with Warlock with icarus dash/phoenix dive on the rift keybind.
hell yeah cammy keep grinding
bruh this week in trials was so dead with cod and overwatch this was the hardest and most satisfying flawless run I ever got
fucking matched zk and frost TWICE
The reason I stuck with controller aside from comfort on my body was mastering 'pc' weapons like ace, DMT pre nerf 1, Thorn, Lumina pre buff, Sunshot and also shooting sidearms full spam with Icarus instead of full auto to make sure I actually hit my crits and tracking auto rifles to consistently hit heads as well, then I gave up caring and started using Cerberus cos who gives a shit about aiming anymore
Psyched to know you settled on the sensitivity settings I’ve been using for years! 11 and .7 baby!!
The only way to get better is go through your bad days. And I run 11 sens .8 ads, and you're right about the shotgun hipfire.
In this video it’s WWAAAYYY more important to listen to what he is saying than watch what he’s doing.
I’ve been pairing it with a snipe to supplement some occasional long angles or with inquisitor for short range ones.
wow I thought I was really original with my whole block mentality and then it turns out this has been what cam has been doing for who knows how long
Cammy calling himself decent at mnk is the most humble thing cam you are great
I'm enjoying your journey good honest commentary Thanks
i just picked up a wolverine chroma 2 from razer and have been learning it on pc. very different playstyle, the 2 days ive been using it, i had a dramatic improvement. even just on the second day alone i went from still learning to look around and sort of aim to actually playing and just being a little sloppy. im excited to have a new challenge to master in the game
Bro people deadass overestimate controller 🤣 but good luck on your journey! came across this video and really enjoyed it.
I love seeing you play on controller again. And here's my contribution to the algorithm;
It's a "mechanical play" on 'macabre' which is French, not Spanish;
So there's no 'brey' sound on the end and it's pronounced 'Meck-Arb'
11:50
I can't speak for everyone else, but this is the norm for a good amount of my games on console.
Most ppl think that high sens on console is good but the lower you go, more shots you can land if you know how to position on the map/gunfights
What are your complete binds? Maybe make a video or post on twitter or something? And also what controller you are using?
Always the best view on pvp, out farming is exactly what it is 1 in 5 games are competitive
Don't forget you can bind one action to two inputs. When i played on xbox i bound finisher to B and Y and that felt pretty good to use.
Lol, Cammy switching back to MnK like Rock Lee dropping his weights
I used to rage quit off mk to controller, but I learned that just sticking to it pays off
when you mentioned rage switching, i used to do the same thing when learning mnk, now I cant go back to controller.
Great video Cammy. Sadly I had to step away from crucible. My beloved warlock socks doodoo and I'm sick of the invis spam with the stupid exotics
The best way to practice controller is to learn how to play pissed off using controller. Good learning cammy
Agreed with everything you said. Including the last message.
started practicing Mouse and keyboard and wished I started earlier.
Even buying a better controller can have a major influence on your game, if you can afford a scuff you would be really surprised!
buying a controller with paddles/back buttons really is ideal, stuff like the fps strikepack that plugs into the back of a controller is an option if ur on a budget tho
if ur gonna stick with the regular controller then look into changing your binds at least. anything that let's u jump and slide without taking ur thumbs off the stick will already put u ahead of most players
i do icarus dash as x + square, really helps with dash timings to get it perfect with jump every time
13:00 I feel that, when i play controller, it feels so restricted and slow, when It's so automatic on kb+m.
I would try to improve more on mnk but its hard to play control when its stacked sweatfest most of the time
good video, look forward to the rumble loadout video, cheers.
Gyrfalcons+Manticore= the secret sauce 👀🎮
This dude is a legend no cap 🧢
You can put the air dive on the same input as dodge since it is used in the air so you dont have to double click
I used to have it like that, but didn't like the accidental icarus dashes. I'd recommend putting it on a button you press with your right thumb, because dives and dashes are aimed with the left stick
No you can't because shitty geometry on maps WILL mess you up when you try to use your class ability, you need to separate them sadly to be consistent
@@chumumi google should and can
@@WinningItAll I'm just saying thats not practical to do man so you "shouldn't" do that. Yes you can do it but you shouldn't

Not rage switching was the biggest change for me when trying to go from controller to mnk
Some people whinge because they think they are losing an advantage instead of getting good at it!
It’s refreshing hearing someone talk about Destiny on controller other than “Hur dur aim assist too stronk”
I matched you 2 times in Rumble yesterday and I was surprised to pull off few duel wins against you. Now I know why lol.
Im very interested in an "illegal rumble loadouts" video. I use striker titan with a lightweight shotgun and kill clip horrors least and cheesiest of all, antaeus. It feels pretty illegal but not quite as cheesy as the lorentz and arby spam thats everywhere.
I use 8 and .8 been trying to up my pvp game. Been fairly successful
1:08 nah even a controller player is sayin wtf to that😂
Yap, balanced input
this is what I have to work on but vice versa i’m a controller player but I want to learn Mnk for shot gunning
also the thing with playing with controller is you can sit back, relax, and chill while mindlessly farming for gear.
As someone who went from Console to PC in shadowkeep, and now back to console in Season Of Plunder... I've ALWAYS wished we could 100% turn off aim assist on controller.
Heres a honest tip, make a d pad direction for your finisher
Made that adjustment, never went back.

i haev reload mapped to R3 and dodge to a back button. Takes too long to double press, and dodge needs to be instantaneous at times. So my back buttons are crouch/jump/dodge/swap weapon.
Cammy, do you reckon making the vex mytho a 360 again would go a long way in making it more balanced? Or what do you think.
i sit in the top 1% and sometimes hit the top500 ranges on console, i've played xim and used to use a cronus but ever since you needed a belator to bypass SONY's restrictions i've quit and went full vanilla, no cronus no paddles no xim nothing just a dualshock 5
i play 20 main sens with variable aim sens, in pvp I have my aim at 20 and in pve i drop it to 15, and it works well for me, i've hit champion in R6s and top 500 in ow1 a few times and I play extremely high sensetivities with max fov's when available (105-120)
i use right stick to couch on HOLD, jump is default (x/a) and dodge/rift/barricade is default (O/B) I have jump double bound to pressing left stick also, my uncharged melee is R1/RB and charged is both sticks at the same time, my nade is L1/LB, reload/interact is on tap/hold (square/X) as default
my super is individually bound with right dpad, down dpad is my air dodge and shatterdive, finisher is also crouch, both bumpers make me also air dodge or shatterdive
it's jank as fuck, my up dpad and left dpad are emotes, and everything is on "contexual tap" type binds with everything on use/overlap if you've played warzone you'll get it
also, touchpad is ghost obviously
edit: I also play with pc clanmates and lfg pc half of my time in trials, so i'll happily say i'm pretty damn okay there but I don't succeed nearly as much, 2300-2500 elo against pc players is literally me being a baby and they take my fucking candy
Give me a tldr lil bro
@@HAHAd2 tldr
am good console gamer pretty okay pc gamer, jank control scheme dumb high sensetivity, double claw or "octopus claw"
all binds set to tap when available, several crossbinds and overlap binds for situations that may need them ex. in air after casting super easier to shatterdive with bumpers instead of d-pad type jank
