- Hi all,
The NEW DIABLO 88 is here from Taylor Rc (formerly rcmax) This is not only a stunning billet reed case rc car engine, it is a force air cooled one!, a 1st for TRC and I believe the only force air cooled big bore engine out at the moment to buy.This means longer run times, cooler running and holding a tune better due to not overheating!
In this video you can see clips of the very 1st run and some footage from each run after that, slowly tuning the engine from its initial very fat/ rich tune.
I am cautious when it comes to tuning and like to take my time, so the last clip is still not the final tune. its definitely getting there though!

Hello my friend beautiful truck gorgeous and if I may make a point those tires your running are to grippy for grass, on dirt you'll be able to slid a lot more and drift a little because on grass forgiveness. Your roll every time if your gonna drive on grass I would get some different tires that will give some slid and let roll overs, any way we'll done your new friend william from NJ forgettaboutit!!!
Cheers bud. Always appreciate thoughts/ advice. Believe me though grip isn’t as good as you’d think. The rear wheels are spinning up massively when on the rear / front up. So much it’s crabbing across the grass sideways. Different tyre setups always worth trying though👍

Hi, I'm not the author but over here in the UK we don't get days too often where heat is an issue. Ive got a 34cc obr reed engine on my mtxl running just over the cylinder head with no issues. Poss if it was in a race scenario where 10ths of seconds are noted, it might be different but certainly no concerns about overheating usually 😉
What carb does it have? And what is the final setting(L+H turns out)???

That's a real stunner there Govna!! She's super fast, seems like she handles pretty well, 'eh? I'm seriously thinking if investing in a gasoline powered beast next, I'm pushing the RedCat Kaiju 6S monster truck, she is pretty fast and does some crazy jumps, but, gasoline cars are so much more fun I think, so watching your Diablo 88 is giving me the jones to buy one similar to your beast.! Would a duel wheel,wheelie bar help with the torque when it's up on its back wheels like that? Maybe one with wheels that are spaced far apart? Anyway beast mode for sure

So sounds fantastic, looks amazing, wont be cheap, and breaks something every time you use it 88cc madness, I love it but I think I will stick to my Krakens KV5TT/VEKTA-5 with the GT50cc engines, I have not broken any of the drivetrain, I have buckled two alloy wheels though bouncing off curbs my fault. Who am I kidding would love one in my LOSI 5ive-T but would want to keep it four wheel drive, I have tried running my 50's with two wheel drive and just to much of a handful to make it fun, I have a 38cc in my HPI Baja 5SC, now this would take this engine, question is what to sell to buy one of these beasts that is the question.
Hopefully a fix for the hub pin's is in development as I hate having my fun cut short and dragging it back to the car, wow cant wait to see the top speed once tuned and any gremlin's worked out.

It’s sick but needs to be in a longer chassis it’s uncontrollable power with such a short light chassis or make it nose heavy and improve the wheelie bar
Setup changes are being made mate to see how it changes the drive. I’m working on it. 👍👍
while the wheels/tires look great and obviously hook no issue wonder if a less aggressive or a traditional wheel/tire set up would help keep the nose down

Why do you keep the ride height all the way up like that (shocks so stiff), soften the suspension a little and it should help with the wheelies and flips

Hmmmm. Def not everyone’s taste. I may well try brp. I have in the past and tbh I’m not a fan. I actually like McD setup the best. Light weight, great grip and no headlocks to blow. Stay on with my 80mcd rr5 at 70mph but I’m sure this 88 would blow them up in short order
