    I'm still at half the video, and I'm getting curious to try Cursor.
    However, the communication around it smells like a hype based reality distortion field.
    You know, a Twitter bubble.. start-up about to raise more money..
    Coding with AI is great until you try to do something new or original, which is typically beyond what's in the training data. And then the AI only tells you about obsolete libraries and hallucinates nonsense for what it doesn't know.
    Since I can rely on my own experience, I might give it a shot but I wouldn't advise anyone to make serious decisions or invest anything based on that kind of hype: try for yourself, be skeptical.

      I downloaded it and started to install until I saw the blurb about Privacy Mode. Data is the new gold, this looks like what they're after, to me. Then I saw that I have to create an account to use it. No thanks.

      Interesting. Take the way I generally say is if I want to create a landing page. There are a few different ways to do it, but because I do not know any front end it's very hard for me to start and it is a big road block. Tools like this assess me in getting off that initial block and then further improving it.

      @@1littlecoder yup! How about you first design your frontend with websim.ai. you can create incredible web pages using great prompts. then use django templates for your newly generated web pages , using cursor to build the entire frontend!

      @@Mephmt Well, you're the one missing out. When you try it, you'll never use another tool. I am surprised I am promoting cursor to others when I haven't been paid to do it. This tool really changed the game for me. I was ignoring it for months until I got bored and decided to try it. I built my own point of sale system in 30 minutes! And I wasn't coding, I was just chatting about my ideas.

  • @eshku
    @eshku 18 дней назад +2

    Yea, for those people who are hyping it and probably won't ever compare it to "cheap" alternatives - that's probably tha best thing in the world, but I'd like to see how it compares to VSCode plugins. Free and not.
    All we've seen so far - just words. Words doesn't mean much, especially in our trash marketing days.
    Free:
    - Codeium
    - Phind
    Is it really worth paying 20 \ 40$ for that difference?
    I feel like I've seen dozens of cheaper options this year too...

    Debugging and laziness is the new problem. I get AI to write the code then when it doesn't work I get it to fix it, but then it ends up like spaghetti and I get frustrated when I actually have to write code myself to fix it. It's soo close. The future is going to be AWESOME. We will all be building our own operating systems. Windows will ripped open and open sourced then we can remove the bloat and make it the way we want it. Without lifting a finger.

      Until I can finetune an AI on my brain patterns so it does everything I would without me even having to think about it, technology will still be lagging behind my ideas, lol.

      @MichaelBarry-gz9xl 17 дней назад +1

      @@ronilevarez901 yh, it doesn't matter how much we innovate, it will pale in insignificance compared to the human brain. Recent neuroscience suggests that a single neuron is more akin to a fully connected deep network. So their are 100 trillion "parameters" connecting 86 billion deep networks. It will be at least 100 years till we can build anything like that. That being said, the journeys going to be epic
