@@dandan-mf4srSeriously, it has been very minimal. Just your basic oil change, after market filter cleaning (I do myself), recent brake fluid replacement. I use waterless wash and wax so I don’t take it in the car wash. It has costs me the same amount (avg.) of maintaining my Toyota Tacoma, which I use more often. Well, I recently bought a 997 c2s... Always wanted a 911 but wasn't keen on spending so much money on a car... I managed to get one in top mechanical conditions from my best mate who had spent a lot of money on it during his ownership, for a very good price. One thing for sure, I still cannot believe this is my car and I love driving that thing. Mine has various upgrades, from Dansk exhaust, turbo brakes, GT3 alcantara steering wheel/brake stick and gear shifter etc... And a great aftermarket digital stereo unit with GPS/TV etc... To be honest, I never switch the radio on when I drive the car🤣, the noise from the engine and the exhaust is pure melody to me... I was going to buy a Cayman S 987 originally, but having driven both, there is no comparison between the two... The Cayman isn't a bad car at all, but the 997 c2s is in a different league, and this black beauty is a keeper! Just had the Lobsters painted in Satin Porsche Aurum Gold and it looks so good... Oh my oh my... Happy motoring everyone and don't drive like a spanner😉😎
Recently, I had a long chat with a service manager here in LA at a Porsche dealer and never heard someone so exited about his future purchase of a Ford Lighting truck. I was amazed as we were surrounded with 2022 speedsters
My reasons for loving the 997 are the vastly improved interior design over the 996, and for the greatly improved exterior. The beautifully arranged gauges and cohesive dash and center stack finally worked as a visual unit. But the best reason for the 997 is the 2010 limited production Sport Classic upgrade. It set the bar for all 911s, and has never been surpassed. Of course they go for over $300,000 now but they are That Beautiful. From its dual-bubble roof, duck tail spoiler, Fuchs-inspired wheels and exclusive dove gray paint, racing stripes and exclusive interior appointments, the Sport Classic is as jaw-dropping today as it ever was.
👍 Buying a 997 now is a good idea. Paying inflation pricing for one in 2021 or recent May 2022? Naaaa! Stupidity. Cool video and the 997 is the next classic.
They are both very different cars. The C7 is faster in a straight line but the 997 is more precise and connected. Porsche build quality is also superior. I'm obviously biased but believe my feedback is objective. Hope this helps.
Great video. I bought by 2010 997.2 Carrera S manual in 2013. It had 17000km when I bought it and is now up to 58000 (weekend car). So far my experiences completely mirror yours. I’ve done about 10 track days in it over that time and it has had bullet proof reliability. Apart from scheduled maintenance I replaced the front pads and rotors, plus the clutch at about 55000km. The only issue I’ve had is when a stick flew up on a road trip and broke the serpentine belt and tensioner pulley wheel early last year and was replaced by the nearest Porsche dealer. Since then it runs flawlessly and is worth a lot more than I paid for it. Really like your video on fitting the joyeauto unit to pcm 3.0. Might be a good job for a rainy weekend. Does your care have Bose? Any issues with the sound quality. Keep up the great content Car Fanatic. Greetings from Sydney, Australia.

I own an E36 M3 that I purchased in 2010 for 7k. I hardly drive the thing and it only has 90k miles on it and I get offers close to 20k. It's the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned, I've had a B8 S4, Porsche Cayman S, Jaguar F Type and a GTI. They all were a total headache and depreciated in value significantly, I'm still thinking about another Porsche but saying that BMW's depreciate like crazy is false. Any M car is actually appreciating like crazy, especially the E46 and the E36. You used a 4 series as an example, that's the worst car BMW makes right now. Who the Hell wants a 4 cylinder BMW???
