Thanks for the thrilling playthrough. Forbidden Island was the first modern board game I bought, along with Mysterium and Pandemic. Also, I love Forbidden Desert, so I have been looking forward to this video.

Find out if you are on Team Jesse or Team Gregg by seeing if you prefer Forbidden Jungle or Forbidden Island.

    RULES CORRECTION:
We played that it took one action to move a tile one space, but the actual rule is that you spend one action to move a tile as far in one direction as you like, as long as it ends its movement adjacent to another tile.

With more experience under my belt, I'd say Forbidden Desert is still a touch better.

I think you and Gregg agree about this; I find desert less "enjoyable" but that may be due more to the dryer (pun intended) gameplay.

@@COOPFORTWO 😄Nice pun. But... I think you are right. The comparatively more straightforward nature of Forbidden Desert appeals to me more than the relatively messy play of Jungle. But the fact that Jungle is harder to solo is part of my issue. Switching out eggs for hatchlings and hatchlings for adults is a lot to solo.

Hey guys, nice playthrough. You mention at 25:11 about using discs to help hold up the adults. Did you get to do this yet and did it work? I just got my copy in today from a pre-order and I'm trying to decide if I should just go ahead and buy some discs. Thanks for any input.

I haven't done it yet -- my main fear is that with bases it will be hard to crowd many of them onto one tile. I think the hot water trick may be a better option. Alternatively if the clear discs were super small (maybe the diameter of a US dime coin) then it might fit. -jesse

Thanks for your quick reply, I was looking at discs from Meeplesource which are 15mm( just a hair over 1/2") I think that would work and still leave room on the tiles for several adults. If you have time look them over ,let me know your opinion. They're not expensive in any case so I just might try The game tiles are just under 2.5 inches so it seems like it would work as far as room goes. As far as the playing pieces go, the legs of the adults "OUT OF THE BOX" just barely make it on a 15mm disc with very careful placement. ( I measured on discs from another game) . I'm going to keep looking for just slightly bigger discs, say 17mm. I'm going to try from an Etsy seller I recently purchased from.

I have used clear acrylic bases to "rebase" other miniatures, and it does work well generally. So yeah, pick up some and give it a try. Let us know how it goes if you do -- maybe post a photo on boardgame geek? @@gusrivera6194

I just ordered some 18mmx3mm acrylicc discs from Game Crafter. Once I receive them and mount them I'll post a pic. Thanks for your input.@@COOPFORTWO
