Some people are saying that if they ever get close to a whale shark they wouldn't be able to fight the urge to touch them but please DO NOT they have a mucus coating that protects them from sunlight and other things and if you touch them the mucus coating rubs off on yout hands and makes them stressed so swim along them , appreciate them , watch them but please DO NOT touch them♡

Dang, okay. I've always wanted to hold on to one and have it pull me...but apparently that would hurt them. A dream has been crushed 😢, but at least I won't accidentally hurt one now🥲. Thanks for letting me know why we can't touch 👍.

Even great white and tiger shark attacks are incredibly rare and they often just swim over to you out of curiosity

Whale Sharks is a symbol here in our region here in the Philippines, along side Mayon Volcano, we call them "Butanding" They love warm ocean waters and mostly found in the provinces of Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Catanduanes and some more provinces in northern visayas regions!
In the Philippines we have a lot of whale sharks, The Philippines have LAW protection of this whale 🐋 shark. Come to the Philippines and see it to yourself and swim with this beautiful whale 🐳 sharks with tour guide.

i was able to swim with some whale sharks once, and while they told us not to go too close to them, one of them swam pretty close to me and family and accidentally got me in the stomach with their fins 😅

I've seen 2 of these while we were at a resort on the Philippines, they're so close to shore and my dad said that there are a lot of tiny fish on shore at night that's why there were baby whale sharks swimming on shore, and the funny thing is, there was one whale sharks in front of each resort

I love them I went to Cebu which is a place in the Philippines and u can swim with them they are gigantic but they are just soo cute and it’s a great experience aswell I definitely recommend you should swim with them is just gorgeous ☺️💖💅🍭

Fun fact:whale sharks aren't whales or sharks,just really big fish. Not related to either of them(ok maybe sharks because fish)
And sharks don't really attack humans often(well,most don't) there's on average 5 attacks a year for great whites. Your more likely to be killed by a vending machine or coconut or another human!

@@saigetucker6054 Whale Sharks belong to genus Rhincodon, which belongs to class Chondrichthyes and subclass Elasmobranchii, are indeed heavily related to sharks. The members of Elasmobranchii include Skates, Rays, Sawfish, and Sharks. Morphologically speaking, you can easily see their phylogenetic relation to Sharks.
