sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@@bodegacatx I feel like you should get as many of the items you want as long as each individual item is under 5 bucks. That way we can also see if it's tasty, and if we were to ever go at least we'd know that certain item(s) is under 5. Technically each item can count as a single meal!
Hey I've never been this early to any of your videos. I love this series and congrats on the subscriber growth! Seeing this delicious and cheap food is making me sad that I'm moving from NYC in a month :(
it must be such a trip actually living in NYC, so many food options!!!! im from Buffalo ny, we've actually got a pretty good vegan scene goin here, i've only been to nyc a few times, my bf is there all the time for work and always sends me awesome food pics ha, love your videos!!!!!! can't wait to go back there someday and FEAST!
In the normal world $5 for a tamale is pricey but I’ve also purchased $7 even $8 dollar vegan tamales from different places. Yeah just for one. I can’t imagine making a batch of 20 tamales and thinking yeah this is worth $140 😂
So glad you got a taste of tofu skin. It's also called yuba and I love it so much. It's one of my favorite foods. Superiority Burger has a burger with it as well.
It's joey from PBD. I was born in Brooklyn (in 1964 - don't laugh) and grew up on Long Island. I left New York 28 years ago and now I am headed back with my family in June for the first time in 28 years. I have been watching your 5 dollar vegan meal videos and I am floored!!! Man, some of that stuff looks so good. I am hooked on your channel. I am hitting that Tomkins Bagels place for sure. Vegan cream cheese sucks overall so seeing all those options there made me suddenly miss NY style bagels. Thanks for doing this series and this is my new favorite binge. My first stop in NYC is going to be Spring Cafe for one of those Bau Buns. I am planning my whole trip around your videos.
Hope you have a wonderful trip back! Thank you so much! If you miss bagel and cream cheese you will loooove the bagels at Tomkin square bagels. Let me know what you think of everything!
heres a tip, go to any authentic chinese bakery. most buns are 30cents to 1$. you could get 5 veggie buns or meat ones if your not vegan. theyre so delicious and affordable i always go to the ones in toronto.
I love the varieties of food that you try! I’m so jealous about all the delicious vegan food that is available in New York. Absolutely love this series!
VeganBodegacat HOLY SNAP! I actually went to Spring Cafe after my doctor's appointment on the same day. I got the beyond meat Burger, with fries and hibiscus green tea-flavored lightly sweetened with stevia (which was really good) it was also the first time I had vegan cheese, which was delicious and hard to tell the difference. It was on the pricey side but I enjoyed it. Next time I might try the bao buns or just get a double beyond meat burger 😋
Your videos are VERY rewarding to the watcher. I went to Spring Cafe last week to try their Bau Buns. The Braised Tofu Skin is CRACK girlfriend! I told the owner that I discovered the place because of you. I am trying to at least become a pescatarian so keep these videos coming. It's nice to know of places that have "non-meat" options.
Omg! So I literally just moved to nyc the other day and I live in union square (at nyu). I saw that vegan truck the other day right outside my building and I was reluctant to try it but after this I’ll have to give it a shot!
@@bodegacatx I am from India and I have very little idea about the good Indian places in the US. What I know is "Saravana Bhavan" is good for South Indian food. See this link: ruclips.net/video/sxt4YCIsn2I/видео.html also this one ruclips.net/video/ndqX0zGErBE/видео.html
OMGosh! Those bao buns look so BOMB! I haven't been able to find a restaurant with decent bao in my neck of the woods. I'M SO JEALOUS!! LOL Awesome video once again, but you must have been stuffed silly by the end!
Thanks for this episode. I haven't had a chance to try any of the places from your previous videos cause I live in Queens and don't get out much, but I'll be at City Hall on Wednesday and it looks like Spring Cafe is really close. I'm on a budget these days til I figure out summer work so I'll definitely go for those Bao buns. Thanks for the tip.
Great video! BTW, if you haven't already been, try Empanada Mama on allen st. in LES. They have empanadas for under $5. ALSO check out Caracas restaurant in Williamsburg. Several vegan arepa options. Enjoy! (ETA: the last option is definitely more expensive than $5, so that's just a general suggestion, not for the $5 vids)
I was walking over to Falafix after watching this video and saw your boyfriend walking on E Houston. Wanted to tell him that you both are great but he had crossed the street by then. Unfortunately Falafix was closed for a holiday so I will have to go another time.
Your videos are outstanding and very much appreciated! Is there any chance you might be able to have the name of the restaurant visible say at the bottom of the screen so we don't have to rewind?
I took a trip to New York and went to so many of the places you’ve recommended on your channel. I just wanted to comment and say thanks for these videos and maybe calm down because if this continues I’m gonna be taking trips to NY every other month lol
@@bodegacatx me too! looks like I will though! Also gonna head to Falafix :) I've seen it before but never stopped in. You have a great channel, keep up the good work :)
This is why I hate Manhattan. Everything is ridiculously expensive. There’s this vegan place that charges $5 for one small ass donut. Like my mans, are you deadass? Everybody isn’t Donald Trump out here.
Do you have any favorites for falafel (and hummus!) in NYC?? I'm going to NYC this summer and I want to make sure I get some topnotch falafel + hummus :)

Since you said it’s your first time having a bao bun.. btw they are usually half that size and 2 to 3 times the price so that’s a great deal!!!
Sooo, basically my entire trip to NYC in November is going to be eating at all the restaurants @Veganbodegacat has recommended! 🙊
I hope you have a great time!
Lol. Me too!

I think the price being a bit over 5 dollars is not an issue at all. They all looked super scrumptious!
Thank you!

I love this series! Nice to have some cheap options instead of always getting a rice ball or tofu bagel when I’m hungry 😋
Vegan Ethiopian place really cheap food and delicious in east Harlem
What’s the name?
Vegan Bodegacat it’s called Zoma and it is delicious and really reasonably priced. I’d love to see you go there.
I love that you're NY based instead of LA because I can actually try these places
Have you tried the vegan dosa cart near Washington Square Park yet? I think you'd like.
I haven’t yet but I plan on it!

Can you do a cheap vegan carb less video? I find that a lot of vegan cheap food is all bread.
Sukari Lyema all plants have carbs like salads and nuts are pretty expensive to staple items?
Yes unfortunately I don’t think that’s possible. Also I love carbs. 😅
Everything that grows from the ground is a carb, so that’s impossible.🤷🏽♀️😏
I am so going to try this place next time I’m around China town thanks girl new subby loving your reviews 💕👍🏻
I did the same thing the other day trying to get to union square lol it stopped at town hall and was like "next stop brooklyn bridge" and I raaaan off

Do you make your own falafel? I neeeed a recipe for homemade pleeeeeaaase 😂😂
Great video!!💞
My grandma has the recipe memorized with no measurements 😅
Love this series. All the food looks delicious. Sidenote: How epic would It be If that bao-place were called called «Lil’ Bao Wow»?
That would be amazing 😂
Have you tried Toad Style in Brooklyn? I think you might like it!
I have! I did a video on them and didn’t enjoy the food very much tbh. But maybe I’ll give them a second shot this year!
Hey, have you checked out the vegan spot in the Columbus Circle turnstile shop? Its got lots of good options!
