This was not only a great interview but Martz here gave us the key to the Bears success this season that no one else has. Ben needs to find an OC who can game plan Ben's offensive vision during the week while Ben attends to all the HC responsibilities leading to game day. I was so upset that the Bears did not keep Martz as their OC with Lovie.

Aside from the fact that Mike McDaniel is different than Josh McDaniels, it’s clear that you don’t know how good Josh is as an OC. He got Matt Cassel and a rookie Mac Jones into the pro bowl, and Kyle Orton played like a solid quarterback under Josh. Drake Maye is a great talent and he is going to do very, VERY well with the set up in NE.

lots of teams think that oline isnt that important.
The niners as an example believe in skill player. even this year they had a top 5 offense with a very mediocre oline
The Bears oline really collapsed when their starters went down.
Braxton, Tev, Bates, Davis & Wright would have been a talented Oline.
The issue is, those 5 didnt play 1 snap together.

HC-BJ needs to be the lead on the DRAFT and FREE AGENTS.....POLES needs to take a backseat. Obvious and surprising he can't pick OL when he was an OL. Something not connecting. This is HC-BJ's show and POLES should be looking in the rear view mirror for WARREN's car.

poles has taken the WORST roster in the NFL and in year 4 now has a loaded roster with a super star coach.
it would be MORONIC to want to fire him cuz he didnt take players that ended up being being better than Caleb and Darnell Wright.
its rare that you get the best player at your draft pick. its almost mathematically impossible. people who actually study drafts know these things.
4 years ago we had khalil mack, roquan, justin fields. now we are loaded with talent and an elite coach.

These guys once again getting overly excited that the Bears "won the offseason" is getting me super excited to just see them get letdown once again if/when Ben Johnson doesn't work out. The Lions were FILLED with talent at literally every single position on offense - some positions having the best players in the entire NFL - that'll quickly make most any OC look good. Thinking that will just automatically translate and "fix" a broken Caleb Williams/Bears offense is hilarious to think. It's the same thing thinking Caleb was a "can't miss" out of college - and now just thinking Caleb will be "great" because you hired a different coach is a wild leap. You think these Bears would learn to just tamper expectations ONE TIME and not just think you win every offseason. Just hilarious to listen to these guys...
