Automation and Artificial Intelligence are different. Robotics in itself is different but you are interested in robotics and ai. So, you can get your hands on software development in robotics (if it interests you), then integrate AI into it. Do projects like object detection and following and increase your level slowly. For companies, you have to check the jobs as per your skills.
Bro, I got robotics and automation in Saintgits college of engineering in Kerala which is an autonomous college. Also I got a chance to select Electronics engineering (VLSI Design) over robotics. which would be the best to select considering the scope of job, the PG courses. etc.. I gave priority to robotics and automation with the same thought of yours (yes, creating robots). But I am worried about the job opportunities of that course. I don't want to regret about those years after completing the degree without getting a job after showing my best in studies. I am not good at doing startups. I can understand your situation! Do one thing, take a pen and paper write pros and cons of both the fields. This helps in taking decisions practically, taking the opinion of your parents as well. Also, about jobs in Robotics (in 2024), the market is not very active in terms of hiring. But, it might increase in the coming years. That is one thing, but currently for the safer side you can go with other fields . Also, you can take robotics and work on your skills, which will help in landing a job. At the end of the day, SKILLS are essential!! to get a job.
Mechatronics is related to specializations in mechanical and electronic systems, which are necessary to build a robot. But robotics comes more into building a robot, you know the basics of how to build a robot.
You can go with dyp pimpri. But, make sure that you are okay with it. Compromising a good college only for the cs branch is not a good option in my opinion. Decision is yours to make!

Brother I'm from Kashmir and there is only one institution (iust) which provides robotics and automation this year not even nit sgr . And the median package shows 5.8 lpa on shiksha web site . The location of the college is at a good site next to AIIMS Kashmir. So brother according to future scope job opportunity placement package in 2028 . Is it worth it now !!!
@@xminwani4619 I think drop may not be the option (depends on you though). For any job, for example in robotics, your SKILLS matters the most. If you have relevant skillset then no one will see from which branch you are that may be cs, it, robotics, ai or any other. You should satisfy the job role and solve the real world problems then you are going to get the job!
Both 50-50, as it is important to build a robot. You also have to focus upon your skills like if you are more interested in software then go with it else with hardware.

See it's 1st time so you have to study about overall college performance in terms of faculties, clubs and placements. Based upon that research you can make decisions.
You can start with the basics of robot software and hardware. Then try to build projects around it. For example, you know the basics of engineering, then get the experience by building projects using arduino and other electronics. Explore on coding, design and electronics.
Walchand is good, pccoe as well. I think comparing both of these with the practical side like opportunities, exposure in terms of technical and non technical can help to make a decision. I don't have full information about these colleges.
That's a good college, I have heard of it. If it fits in your goals then go for it. You can also do a survey on that college not only in terms of placements.

Btech is offered by autonomous colleges, no big difference. Here you'll get automation and robotics. Any college supports you, but skilling up is on you.

Both are good. It depends on your interest as well. As you learn in engineering, you'll get aware. Choosing any one of those, then verify what suits you.
