Hey guys. I hope you all are doing good. This video is the first video of the "Lets Talk about Robots" series inspired from all of your questions over Instagram and RUclips. Feel free to post more any feedback or suggestions. I hope it will be useful. Tried to keep it very simple in the beginning. Enjoy :-) What makes a Robot a "ROBOT" . It should have following three elements 1. PERCEPTION - How robots perceives the world around then with the help of Sensors, Cameras, Lidar, Radar 2. DECISION MAKING - Brains of the Robot - Makes the decisions based on the data collected from "PERCEPTION" stage 3. ACTION - Robots performs a task in the real world with the help of "PERCEPTION" & "DECISION MAKING"

I first got interested in tech when I watched big hero 6 and got a programming/engineering kit for my birthday. They shaped me, I'm now exceeding in computer science in school and am hoping to do either game design or robotics engineering
I'm the same way! (And coincidentally because of the same movie lol) Although the interest was never really focused on in my younger years, it was most definitely in the back of my mind and now it's something I'm highly considering pursuing!
I'm not really scared of all the math stuff like kinematics and other and i really want to do robotics engineering and want to be able to make an entire robot by my own.. im still in the 8th grade and really want to become a robotics engineer for the greater good of humanity
Agreed. However, that is future and everthing with plan is not always go with plan. Avoid the "overplanning" and start experiment on building robot at your own hand. (sooner the better like right after the video.) Plus, "Elegoo" might be a good start.
I am junior one am just in 8 class but i firstly get a new interest in robotics tech so i really want to be the robotics engineer....as your video got 3 aspects so this is very useful term to understand....for the beginners ..
When one of my teachers suggested I get into bionics I was skeptical because I didn't think I could get into something like that. I was mainly exploring molecular biology or artistic careers so I was scared to get involved with something so unfamiliar and confusing. My curiosity has peaked and I am a high school junior who finally has a direction in life because of this video (corny but it's true). Thank you.
I believe this to be the right level of simplicity! Never want to engage in too hard-to-comprehend technical terms just yet -- especially in an introductory video. Thanks again :) subbed for the qualitative info!
Thank you so much for creating this video. Your explanation for Robotics is the easiest and simple to digest. Otherwise, I am extremely scared by other definitions of robotics.
Eager for the next video. I am a IIIrd yr Mechatronics student and I have tried doing bunch of courses online but I get exhausted already. But your video " 24 hours in day of a robotics engineering student" was an eye opener. You are really self driven. That really gave me a boost! And Yes We are ready to digest!
Your opening remarks... it's like you were reading my mind. Great video! After some thinking about it, I'm leaning more towards perception than anything else; if that's the case, where would be a good place to start?
So basically perception = electrical engineering/computer hardware engineering Decision making = A.I. and computer science and Action = mechanical engineering/physics

Hi, at first thanks for cool video. Could you share what tools are used in each stage? E.g. for perception it wold be mainly deep learning, including CV, NLP and such. What tools, technologies would be used for other stages?
It’s actually quite a long answer mate but it’s a good question. let me write a blog post on this where I will share my tech stack and tools. Just keep an eye on my website. I will post this blog in October month release. www.letstalkwithrobots.com Good suggestion btw :)

Hey, thanks for enlightening my mind. I was wondering that, is it possible for us to pick all three aspects of this? Like, you said that I could pick any one of these three, but I can't help but to find myself amazed by all these so I was wondering if I could work on the perception, decision-making as well as the action part of robotics
Yes definitely you can learn all three aspects of it . I did it myself. As a matter of fact when you start doing project and assuming that you will be doing it in your own in early days. You will end working with 1. Sensors - perception 2. Software- decision 3. Controlling motors - action I hope it helps
I'm interested in doing all three. I want to be able to build a robot for the software to the hard ware and the design. Is it possible for me to do all that?
Any Python course will do, pick one you like and finish it in about a week. Then jump straight into projects with ROS, because practical coding experience is what really counts. Remember, Learning syntax is just the rules of a language (It is a tool). Understanding logic is the main thing in here. It is about breaking down problems, structuring solutions, and applying the right algorithms. Dont waste too much time watching too many tutorials. Learn the basics and get started with Robotics projects.
