- Today's episode is such an exciting one! I can't believe that we're already decorating for Christmas and its only September! It was a dizzying experience at Dapitan Arcade. There are definitely some pros and cons to shopping at a place like this. Plus, we head to Friends and Family for some dinuguan...my first ever! It's only right that I try this dish here in Philippines.

I think the lady vlogger just gave the rationale behind Filipinos having the longest Christmas season in the world. She is a very good vlogger to follow. Hope u get thousands of subscribers among Filipinos coz ur very interesting to watch. From a senior citizen.
Thank you so much for the sweet compliment 😊 sometimes it’s difficult to put my feelings into words and also not ramble too much. Salamat po and ingat ‘til next time ✌🏼🇵🇭
If you're buying something expensive, It would be better for your husband to be the one to haggle with the prices speaking in tagalog because some store owners jack up the price if you are foreigner. Also next time bring a fan or abaniko coz its hot there. Even its not xmas you can buy gift items, fancy home displays, kitchen utensils and glasswares from Dapitan Arcade at a bargain price.
I'm sure it is the husband who did all the haggling and buying there.
Yes! We actually had one of our cousins with us and he was very helpful in getting great prices for all of the goods. Of course we don't want to be "cheap" but we want to pay what's fair whenever we shop in those kind of settings. I was getting quite excited about the other housewares there as well, we will do our decor shopping with local craftsman once we get an actual house.
@@LLVT Some of the items being sold by high end malls around Metro Manila are supplied by Dapitan Arcade.
It's really true about the "BER" Months wherein Pilipinos are already preparing/buying for some Christmas Decors. Actually, Christmas Season in the Philippines starts (every year) on Sept. 15 as start of the "100 Days Countdown" to Christmas Eve. And there is also the "Simbang Gabi" or "Night Mass" (only for Catholics) starting on Dec. 16 for 9 consecutive Nights/Dawn. And the climax is after the Midnight Mass of Dec. 24 wherein Pilipino Families gather together for their Christmas Supper/Meal and after the meal, "opening of the Gifts". And come Jan.6 (new year) is the Feast of the Three Kings". So you see the Philippines has the Longest Christmas Season. BTW, just in case you attend Night/Dawn Mass, pls remind your Husband about the BIBINGKA and PUTO BUMBONG, its good for Breakfast with Hot Choco. Hope you all enjoy the Pinoy Christmas Season to Christmas Eve. Be safe and Godspeed.
Thank you so much! We hope we can attend mass this year and we will probably eat our weight in bibingka and puto pumbong lol
Yeah, the feeling during Christmas season for all of us Filipinos are impeccable.
It’s magical!

Have you tried to celebrate Christmas here in the Philippines 🇵🇭? What can you say about the looooong months celebration ? The foods? Family? Anything about PaskonG Pinoy? Take care 💖
Your son is very good in explaining the food he eats. He's smart
Thank you so much! He's got a talent for sure.
I know how Kuya feels. I grew up in rural Philippines. I always got sick when we went to the city. Since you love Christmas and everything associated with it, the Philippines is the place for you. LOL 9:09 the white capiz parol is so pretty. 10:55 I love the snow lantern. 21:05 The beige parol is beautiful! I am jealous.
Yay! I'm glad you love all the decorations, they really are such an experience. Kasen was definitely tired and he had a good nap on the way home then he took another nap after lunch 😳
Your family is awesome it's literally an example to other families around the world that family is a great treasure more than diamond.
Aww 🥰 thank you so much! We try to maintain good vibes but we also want to share the moments where things aren’t “perfect” - salamat po and ingat ✌🏼
@@LLVT welcome & thank you
Christmas is too close for the Philippines as it starts in September. Lots of exciting moments. I hope you’re much much better now after you first touch down in Manila Christina. Your kids are doing pretty well and happy for the entire families. Mexico is closer to the the Filipino tradition and relations as there were lots of Mexicans the time of Acapulco trade between the two countries. So welcome to your second home. Love watching you’re learning to to appreciate the foods you were afraid to taste before 😉👍😘. Keep going Christina and advance Season greetings, 🙏🏻
Thank you so much! Yes it was more of an adjustment than I expected but we’re really settling in and getting a routine going now. Looking forward to all of the Christmas celebrations to come 🇵🇭🎄
@@LLVT i understand it’s always the adjustment period not easy to settle down fast for foreigners like me. Worst with me was the culture and the French language until I slowly realize lots of Spanish words and some few English terms being used. Then the accent to be understood. Im doing well and fine now. Happy to see you doing much better as people there speaks at least the basic English. I’m sure you’ll meet few American or Mexican friends just for the good vibes. It helps for the transitions until you’re completely integrated. People there are friendly and full of empathy. 😊🙏🏻👍
I love your enthusiasm about the “ber” months in the Philippines. I too get excited when Christmas season comes. It’s colorful! Brings back lots of good memories. Hopefully you enjoy the long holiday celebration.
Happy holidays! Maligayang Pasko!! Yes, the holiday season is such a great time. We will definitely enjoy it 🥰
Since it is Christmas season in the Philippines - I recall enjoying with friends the 5 am masses at any church and eat the fresh puto bong bong or ube with cocunut .
It was a popular treat for attending the early morning church during that season !
Oh boy! I do hope to experience an early morning mass but perhaps only every now and then 😉 because I do appreciate sleeping in now.
"BER" months is also a time when "Night Food Markets" pops up all over the Philippines... It would be fun to see you guys visit one. You'd find authentic native treats that Filipinos eat during the holiday season.
Yes! We definitely want to get out and do a night market with the kiddos.
Thanks for appreciating our products n pla ces youre such a wo nderful person. Enjoy every time coming in the PI👍👍👍👍💖💖
There are already a lot of buyers of Christmas decors even if it's still September. Impressive. Kuya will get used to the crowd if he always encounter them. So he will adjust as he grows older.
Yes! It was quite busy for a Sunday morning but we expected it might be which is why we went fairly early. He will adjust, it's important to make sure he understands how to work through those types of experiences and know that we support him.
Wow! Awesome vlog. I’m jealous because we don’t that many choices or varieties of Christmas decorations here in the US. Also, Christmas starts early in Philippines. It’s nice that you try, at least once, every Filipino food there is. Love your vlogs. Keep it up! 👍🏼❤️
Salamat po! Yes there is definitely a lot of options and they are quite different from the "themes" you often see in the US. I noticed there was an emphasis on anything that sparkles ☺️
Salamat po !!!!! Ms. Cristina & your husband. For supporting our small business in Manila. 👍👏✌️🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🥰🥰🥰
Salamat po to you too! I love looking around at the big stores and trying to recreate themes from thing purchased at small businesses whenever I can ☺️
I sometime just cook my own version of Dinuguan here in Texas ,as Ive been to numerous Filipino eateries and never savored the deliciousness of it like i had in many carenderias/restos in many islands of the Philippines. The most memorable i had was, when our teacher invited us ,her students at her house, and thas was from decades ago.
Yummy! I bet is is difficult to find a really good one especially if you've had it from the homeland. Thank you so much for watching and ingat 'til next time!
The parol you made was amazing 👍👍👍 We appreciate your time and for helping small businesses here in the Philippines. More power 💪❤️👍 Dinuguan is 😍 its simplicity makes it more different but delish.
Thanks so much! We hope to do more with the communities as we continue our adventures here in 🇵🇭
Yahooooo.... Merry Christmas everyone
It's the most wonderful time of the year!
I love watching kuya eat. He is really passionate about foods.
Thank you so much! He really is very passionate about it, it's so much fun to witness it in person 😊
I love that snowman inside the glass. I am a Filipino living in the US for 30 years now, Christmas in the PHilippines is like no other, thats why i missed it.
Maganda! Thank you for watching and ingat po!
Christmas shopping at the market or malls in the Philippines is amazing. Many different Christmas decor to buy..
Hi Armando! If I had more space, I would definitely buy more trinkets! I love Christmas!
what i love about Local Filipino Xmas decors is that they're soo lovely and cheap,,
So pretty 😂 I literally kept saying it! Thank you for watching and ingat 'til next time 🇵🇭✌🏼
I remember my mom used to go to places, like Divisoria or Dapitan.. as a kid I really dont like crowded places too.. I didnt know then and how we should appreciated the things moms do..
Yes, it's definitely one of those things you learn when you become an adult. Thank you so much for watching!
I'm touch by saying "Salamat Po" very Pilipino tradition. Thank you for staying here in Philippines..
Our pleasure! We are very grateful to the Philippines and the people her for being so wonderful. Salamat po and ingat ' til next time ✌🏼
20 years without Christmas in Philippines... mabuhay
Christmas is so different here and so amazing!
We were there last year and ended up buying some household items. Enjoy the "ber" months in the Philippines.
Thank you, Benjie! It's definitely something that I've been looking forward to since moving here.
May the good Lord continue to shower this beautiful family with more blessings. ❤
Amen and blessings to you and your family as well 🙏🏼
So brave of you to try dinuguan dish and so is your son....I love it when kids are brave enough to taste different dishes. Stay safe 🤗❤ and God bless your family 🙏🙌🍀
Thank you so much!
Star city ,enchanted kingdom, splash island for sure kiddos will love to go
We tried Star City and the boys had a great time, I was slightly dissapointed with the fact that such a large business did not accept credit cards. We definitely want to take them out to Enchanted Kingdom.
Its nice that you visited the place. If youre going back there, its not the place for kids. They wont appreciate the congested place because its a thrift market. Eventually they will adapt to the environment we have here in the Philippines😊
Thanks for the tips! I am confident they will adapt as well ☺️
Love to watch your videos.keep t up.God Bless you and your Family.Thank you for trying dinuguan.Bravo your kids.LOVET
Thank you so much and ingat po!
You shopping for Christmas decorations puts me in the Christmas spirit now. It is so awesome that you are enjoying so many first time discoveries there. Keep safe and ingat!
Yay!! It's so awesome that the season starts "early" here compared to the US. Thank you so much for the support with the Dinuguan Challenge too... you were right, I did like it!!
oh my that Nativity in a Bahay KUBO is very nice..havent seen one like that before
I know it was incredible!!
Kuya and bunso happy watching parol. You can see a lot of beatiful parol in Pampanga. In cheaper price also. Pampanga is the best for parol. Enjoy beermonths. God bless.
We would love to see the Giant Lantern Festival in Pampanga!
The way I was drooling over that Dinuguaaaan! it’s so good I miss having one 😅
I was very surprised with it! It’s very hard for me to have an open mind when it comes to foods sometimes and I’m glad that my husband has been such a blessing to show me so many different foods.
We have Spanish Mexican American heritage so it is easy to adapt family wise! Wishing you both and familia fruitful 16 years anniversary and for another 50 years of anniversaries 🙏🙏🙏👍😀🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽😍🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Salamat po!!
Bewildering variety. It gets better as the years pass! Glad to see many Nativity scenes as well.

Wow you got some cute decorations for a good price. I'm looking forward to more Christmas decorating videos. Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you! 🤗 I just posted a short of our condo decorated for Christmas and narrated by Bunso!
Me too I will get so excited when it comes to Ber months. Here in the US my husband's family decorate Christmas after the Thanksgiving, but I always decorate the 2nd week of November right before Thanksgiving.
Happy holidays! I'm just excited to feel the holiday spirits for an extended period of time here. Christmas is my favorite!
Good choice perfect tinz

love u guys & i am diehard dinuguan & adobong pusit person. Am glad u finally got over your fear w' chocolate blood --- another term used by Caucasians for this dish. It is really good w' the sili or chili it came with. God bless & take care always guys... It is so refreshing to hear your sincere comments & remarks about your experiences living in the Philippines. You both have amazing & open-minded children whom oftentimes are so respectful & happily embracing both culture. Keep up the excellent parenting...

Keep on vlogging guys, stay safe & God Bless
We will continue to share as much as we can, thank you so much for watching and supporting our channel!
you can buy anything there and resell it to US
That would be pretty awesome! I wonder if the electrics would be an issue though? Certainly a great way to make some extra cash during the holidays.
Dapitan is a street close to where my alma mater, University of Santo Tomas is located. I miss visiting that area.
I was very distracted by all of the pretty 😍 things that I didn’t really look around the neighborhood very much. Glad we got to share some of the area in the video for you.
I, myself love the nativity scene. I think I have two. Christmas is the best in the Philippines. I miss Noche Buena. You know they actually sell actual fresh pine tree. Since you have issue with storage and space at your condo it would be advisable to get a fresh one
They are such a beautiful reminder of the reason for the season diba?! 🥰 Great suggestion for the tree. Thank you for watching and ingat 'til next time 🇵🇭✌🏼
Wahahaha. The spoon os the knife, what do you mean. Hahahahaha. Nice
😂 I totally set myself up for that response 🤭
Even at SM sometimes, you might get that feeling, if there's too many people and the noises around start to blend together like a buzzing sound. Everything becomes somewhat suffocating and you just need some fresh air and get out.
Yes, it happens to each of us every now and then. We always try to encourage him to work through those feelings and it eventually passes. Thank you so much for watching and ingat po 🇵🇭
Yey!!! "Ber" month now. Christmas is the best time of the year in the Philippines.
Yay!🎄❤️🇵🇭

Hello po! I spent the first 7 years of my life out there 😊 the area has changed so much since then though! There’s definitely a lot of Filipinos out there too now! Thanks for watching!
That's very near my place.all made locally and cheaper than the malls,it was few before and now it's becoming popular and expanding.
Yes definitely cheaper than the mall ☺️ thank you for watching and ingat 'til next time 🇵🇭✌🏼
You should bring your family to Pampanga for the annual giant lantern festival. Your kids would really love it.
We would love it! Mommy might enjoy it more than the kids 😜
I was drooling watching the food segment. 🤤😊❤️
Thank you!! We've learned that drooling is a side effect of ewatching some of our videos lol
Love your family. God Bless.

Big fan of yours. Keep it up.. I always watching your vlog❤️🙏🇵🇭
Salamat po! We’re glad you are enjoying the channel ☺️
Love this! So nostalgic.. I miss Philippines Xmas!
✌🏼❤️🇵🇭
WhEN We wERe a child we used to make our Christmas tree and parole. Usually. we make of tree branches and drape it with color paper or we make a circular wooden planks and put an inch nail 1.5 cm apart and one by one tie a string on them and the other are concregated at the top making a conical shape and put Chrismas balls hanging on them.
Wow! That’s very creative 🎄
21:16 I love that fiber parol you got!! Better than wreath definitely.
Thank you so much! It’s absolutely beautiful. I ended up wrapping some battery powered fairy lights around it and it looks so pretty all lit up.
Try to visit San Fernando Pampanga the Christmas Capital of the PH and Pampanga is the culinary capital of the PH. There is a festival coming this December the Giant Lantern Festival.
I would love to visit the Giant Lantern Festival and also eat our way through Pampanga ☺️🇵🇭
Wow dinuguan , it’s Yumm , stay safe fammies
Hi Ssor! It was surprisingly delicious! It's been my weakness for many years and was afraid to try it!
Oh no poor kuya it was just too hot and crowded for him, but It was finally good to see him in a good mood at the restaurant 😁
Yes! He had rough time, plus he was up extra early that day so I could also tell he needed a good nap. Thank you so much for watching and ingat 'til next time!
Thanks for an amazing video. It's surely one of our favorites as we felt the Christmas spirit. Glad to see more of bunso as we often dont see much of him and also your husband. Also happy that kuya felt better. Please do share more of Chistmas videos with your whole family. We love you all.
