Watching this video made my day! Was building a layout and my planning stage went awry, namely switching from DC to DCC. My track laying was sloppy and noticed my six axle loco would not stay on the track even on a 34 inch radius turn. I tore it all down to the grid work and starting again. Saw some of your benchwork and design. Bells started going off in my noggin & I'm scribbling down notes as to what I am going to incorporate when I start rebuilding. Just so happens, I'm modeling Central NJ in the 80's & 90's with Conrail, Amtrak & NJ Transit. It was just what I NEEDED to see today!
Randy Slikkers Thank you so much for sharing your layout. I feel like I just went back in time! From the late 1980’s until Con Rail disappeared, I spent many hours watching Big Blue roll through Elkhart Indiana! You captured that magic feel of that Great Railroad!
Its amazing to see a South Jersey model railroad. SJ is full of such good rail history and its sadly forgetten about by most. Love seeing Vineland Minucipal Electric, as a kid from Vineland that is amazing!
Cool layout Don Oltmann. I work for W&W and spent many years going by the Vineland Muncipal Electric plant on a daily basis. It’s a shame they don’t light up the huge neon sign anymore.
@@Donoltmann I think josef means considering the fact that you are a member of the NMRA... Your train set looks more of a children's toy then a professional hyper-detailed model. I concur! Thanks for sharing the video tho. Very informative!
