Thank you for sharing! It would be nice if someone, like Bachmann, would produce an On30 version of SR&RL 2-6-2 #18 and/or #24. Both are impressive examples of 24" narrow-gauge locomotives.

Good evening. I will assume you have (& use for reference) the book ‘Logging Railroads of the Adirondacks’. My great grandfather logged out & had a hardwood mill in the area the Grasse River Railroad operated. I have property going back 5 generations that I can ride through the forest to where the ‘North Tram’ branch of the railroad that was strictly for logging was. Deep in the woods you can still barely make out the roadbed. And close to my property there are old bridge abutments that cross over the Grasse River that was part of the mainline from Cranberry Lake to Tupper lake. Are you originally from the area or have you spent time there? And yes they had the 44 ton GE diesel. I love your scratchbuilt copy of their caboose and log cars. It is a beautiful part of the world with deep railroad & logging history. My own railroad is called the Wanakena Railway. Stops include Wanakena, Windfall, Degrasse, Sevey’s Corners & Tahawus mines which are named after hamlets in that area. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

Impressive Mr.Steve. Your sense of humor about scratch building with coffee sticks is appreciated. Found the same kinda buget savers at a local Hobby Lobby. Lots O' scenary varariation going on there. I like the Boat/Water areas very much. I like how you represent logging mallets. I'm in the roster aquisition and planning stage. Still negotiating with management here for layout space. On30 logging is what I'm wanting to do. Modeled HOn3 in my Navy days, aquired much Sn3, decided to go On30. 🤣 Would be nice to pick your brain about the do's and don'ts sometime. Thanks for posting your video. Mike C. _ TX.

Very cool! I grew up in Pueblo and as a kid I played in the railroad yards near the 4th street bridge. As a teenager, a friend and I would pack our backpacks and jump on an open boxcar and ride to wherever it took us. We usually ended up around Salida and Buena Vista area. Rode though the Moffet tunnel in an open boxcar! After camping in the mountains for a few days, we would hitch hike home. Engineers would see us sitting in a boxcar door with our legs dangeling out and just wave. This was back around 1968-1972. Can't do that now! Now, I live just down the road from you in Peachtree Corners! I'll come check you out at the Piedmont Pilgramage 2023!

Great layout. I loved the Southern Railway. There was a transfer track that ran behind my boyhood home in Atlanta. Was told it was an L&N track but I only saw a trio of Southern GP9s pulling those transfer runs - from Seaboard's Hulsey Yard in downtown Atlanta, north to Southern's Armour Yard in Buckhead. Never less than 100 cars, and ran no faster than 15-20 mph, but they rocked the neighborhood. They also had a duo of MP15s that switched industries on that line. One was a lumber company and another was a cement plant, though there were a lot of other industries on that line. Tracks were pulled up in the early 90s and it's now a Rail Trail, but there used to be several big trains per day coming through there until the early 1980s.

So jealous you have the room to run prototype trains on prototype sorts of curves and through amazing scenery that you've created. It looks like a real Short line there are tracks everywhere because there isn't enough space to separate things properly. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing this.

I had home depot build the shed which is 20 wide by 26 long, HVAC and power via underground, shelf layout round the back and side with 30 inch radius inside turns and 34 in radius at each end towards. I run Southern and NS my storage is pull out drawers which hold both engines and cars. Outstanding layout...Southern serves the South

I've seen so many layouts both in person and on RUclips, that I'm rarely surprised. Impressed? Almost always. But rarely surprised. LOL.... color me equally surprised and Impressed on this one. This layout is a gem. A pure joy to look at. I could set up a lawn chair somewhere and just watch this layout all day. Excellent work sir!!

That is a wonderful and big layout. I like how you've modeled key locations on that route. As impressive as the video is, I'm certain it's even more impressive in-person. Operating it in a prototypical fashion must be a joy. I had the intention of building an On3 layout but other situations changed my plans. I still have a love for On3 and have several locomotives and cars. Maybe I'll build a diorama instead if I can find the space for it.
