Hi Joe, those fire wood poles are as good as the get. Cold hear in northern New York also, around 0 this morning. You have your work "cut" out for you this year.
Great Video as always Joe. Log Hauler Jesse is Awesome. What a Load of Logs that he delivered to your Woodyard. Can't wait to see you process the Logs Especially the Beech Logs. Yes Joe you and Jesse are a Team and you are Lucky to have Found him. Keep up your Great Video's my Friend. It's Very COLD HERE ALSO. Warming up this Week coming up. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
I've bought a few loads of logs recently and there has been quite a bit of beech on them. One driver told he there is something killing the beech trees so you might start seeing more and more of it. It's great wood. Smells a lot like maple, splits easy, not stringy at all and has one of the highest BTU ratings of all of the different species. Dave in Ontario, Canada
Happy delivery day! Nice to see Jesse and his truck in full operation again. Elaine from Canada here, great weather .. no mosquitoes! Stay warm, cheers.
At 12 degrees there should be visible vapor appearing while exhaling & talking, there is none. Have noticed this on other channels as well. I googled with no results. ?????
Hummmm...I didn't know there was that much value in beech as firewood. Our forestry guy called them "weed trees" and said he wouldn't use the words "decimate them", but culling them would be beneficial to our wood lot. Nice load👍
i have heard that too but i never looked at beech as that. I think they look awesome. This area is known as the beech-maple belt. Tough wood to split though...not stringy, just tough
When I was doing firewood I had 2 loggers bring wood in who had there own knuckleboom loader on there trucks and 1 who had a cable hoist on his single axle truck so I had 3 loggers total. They would bring even the ones that had metal in them and I take a metal detector to find the metal. I plan on getting back into firewood and have a track hoe I can unload with until I can find me a knuckeboom loader. Have a great day be safe
Hello Mr. Joe just when I was going to ask you how you get those log loads😂😂 …. Then you answered! Those were some beautiful logs. Hope your luck continues. Take care TOA.
It’s good to see log hauler Jesse up and rolling . I grow up around logging and riding with my dad in the log truck . I think there’s no happy medium it’s either hot and dusty or bone chilling cold or wet and muddy . Thanks for video joe .
I like that you are ready for change. You need to stop stacking your wood and put it in piles like Chris "in the wood yard" he said it's a waste of time stacking the wood, it dries just fine in pile he says.😊
Thanks for subbing BIB. The logs I buy are usually too small to take the the mill. This is all part of my business model as I can make firewood cheaper than what I can buy it for but I still buy firewood believe it or not. It is just a good decision to have these relationships and a second source for my product. It cuts into my margin but still something I find useful to growing my customer base
haha. You sound like my old creative writing prof. I should have quoted Shakespeare... "What freezings I have felt, what dark days seen, What old December's bareness everywhere! LOL
Where Jesse first pulled up you can stack logs up against wall on inside from the outside too and if needs right on the outside as well on both sides of the gate.
I am rebelling against accounting so I'm not able to give you the amortization/depreciation schedule for the machines in each cord. At a high level a truck like this costs anywhere between $650--$800. Prob need about 1 gallon of diesel to turn into firewood, and $20 to stack. I get about 6 cords of firewood from each truck.
Good Morning Joe: Great plan for a second row of logs. Last Fall I couldn’t get logs for a few months. I was very blessed to have a lot of logs in the Woodyard to make up that shortfall. It’s great to see Jessie back up and running.
I think part of the secret to keeping a good log supplier is taking logs when the supplier has them, not just when you need them or can afford them, once the relationship has developed then you can be a little more specific. Nice of Jesse to re arrange your logs, I mean, he didn’t ‘have to’ do that, great guy! You have a good business partner there Joe.
I have a curious question would you be in the fire wood business if you didn't have RUclips channel and have a partnership with Japa firewood processor ?
Yes I would. I am a firewood business first and it predates my YT channel. Not sure if you were aware but I paid for my Japa. I don't have a partnership with Japa or Metsamachines. They do like me bc of my vids however!

Jessie needs to run a coil of his hydraulic return line under that seat of his. That'll warm him up.
