- The Polycade looks kind of confusing to me with its multiple crowdfunding attempts, spec changes. Who knows what you will get!

Ambitieus cat in the sack right👎🏻
I guess I'm kinda off topic but do anyone know a good website to stream newly released movies online ?
@Fabian Malcolm Flixportal :D
@Madden Huxley thank you, signed up and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it!!
@Fabian Malcolm Glad I could help :)
I love how you review things. Honesty, no vendor ass-kissing, no bullshit.
The specs for the Polycade 2600 looks EXACTLY like that new Atari VCS that is supposed to be out later.
its taken forever to materialise, what a let down
Unbelievable. Another bad idea
Last time I was this early, MLP was nearing 8k subs and getting ready to share his own personal Hyperspin setup if/when he hits 10k subs
Looks like a water drinking fountain station. :-) LOL
Hello Mr. Pixel! Sounds like there's some confusion :( We'd love to clear things up! How about an interview sometime?
I was just about to order one but this made me rethink. I thought it was a good price but if you put it that way I was going to get scam I believe
I’d like to see that!!! Definitely tuning in. Also looking forward to the sente next month.
In the "use your own pc" video you can clearly see that it's RetroArch running on the laptop.
You can run RetroArch on Xbox Series X/S.
@@cbh4god76 I'd go with that instead of the Polycade. :)
Does it come with an optional bidet? It looks like a public urinal...
This look like something you could make yourself with your brother and/or kids and it would totally rock
These guys are insane. These specs are like Ultra budget sub 500$ gaming PC builds. No way the woodworking of these cabinets are worth the 2.5 to 5.5k$ difference they are charging.
The start of the video is amazing. I thought it would take time to arrive at the title. I was wrong.
Your one of the few real ones on RUclips if your not feeling it I’m not buying it ! Thank you for not selling out and keeping it real about these products.
Q: What the heck is the Polycade?!
A: It's a scam.
It's the same deal with iiRcade, everyone is fooled into thinking they licensed all those games, yet it's just an extra interface on top of Google Play Store, all those games they're offering are available on any phone, tablet or Android TV device.
For 5-6k you can get a MegaCade. That comes with a 50” screen.
This polycade is a mess I'm glad I'm going to stay clear of & it's made by the son of the grandfather of video games. This makes me sad.
8bitdo just showed an handheld concept.
There's video of it running Capcom vs SNK now
I saw these at Ces 2019. They were pretty cool
Looking
@Channel X I do, it’s more appealing than you and has more uses
@Channel X that’s no way to talk about your sister
When you get your silver play button are you gonna do an unboxing for it? You're getting there :)
Sure why not! It would be something that should be shared with everyone
They really need to get Soulja Boy's endorsement
Yeah - you called it - they probably have these already made and are just using the campaign as a pre-order hype. I've seen these types of arcade cabinets before so I'm certain you could make it yourself for a fraction of the cost.
"Polycade or new Xbox, Polycade or new Xbox?"... That's kinda like "Hotdogs or steak, hotdogs or steak?"... lol...
Hey, come on, man, show the dogs some love...
Blast city with a MiSTer is still the dream, with maybe some add-ons to play other systems/arcade games until those are available
Are you eating Turkey Tacos tomorrow Ron? 🌮 Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Nope, I don't like turkey. I'm making Tamales, chicken and pork.
@@Madlittlepixel hell yea bro me too!!
interesting wall mount custom arcades, fine presentation!
looks like the Chuck-E-Cheese of machines.
The webcam is so the polycade staff can creep on you
That's so Lil' Jon can pop in from time to time. OKAyyyy
Analogue's loose slot on the mini noir doesn't seem like as big a deal to me now compared to this mess.
Yo mad what’s your opinion on the iircade?
Mike Kennedy from "Coleco Chameleon" is behind this project. 😂😂😂
Good God...
He won't go away will he?
I guess he's like his rival Pat The Jerk Punk
Hello Mr.Pixel!
Hi! 😘 😂
i'm shocked that the son of Nolan Bushnell (who is arguably one of the greats behind the Arcade machine) is responsible for putting a low to mid range PC in a big box that isn't even really shaped like an arcade machine, then charging thousands for it.
I recently upgraded my own PC. I upgraded the motherboard, CPU, RAM, 1KW PSU and GPU for just over 1000 pounds. That money bought me a Ryzen 5 3600x,with 48 Gig of RAM (Games don't use that much RAM, but running VMs can) and an RTX2080 TI . In short, I got a PC that is good at virtualisation, and runs most games (from retro right up to the latest AAA games) comfortably at up to 4K (2K with Ray Tracing). Admittedly, I already had a decent 2K monitor, but I doubt they've gone for a top of the line LCD, so you can bung another 1 or 2 hundred pounds on the price for that.
Fairly certain that if I wanted it in an arcade cabinet, I could probably get a carpenter to build one out of wood for 2 or 3 hundred pounds. Add in about 1 hundred pounds a piece for a decent Arcade stick.
In short, I think it's perfect possible to build a PC with specs far higher that the ones here into a working arcade cabinet for a lot less money than they are charging, and still make a decent profit.
Hey MLp can you see if the atari fight stick is compatible with ps4?
I want to know before i pull the trigger on this!!
Please help!!!
A fan from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Does it come with the hot tub Bushnell was conceived in, during Atari days?
with any kickstarter or similar, if the maker has a history of delivering on crowdfunded projects, then its usually a winner. In this case, we also have previous experience that suggests you would probably rather take your chances with coronavirus, than handover your hard earned cash for this.
Almost to a 100k mlp!!!!
I've given up on stuff like this. I'm to the point where I'll just build it myself.
POLYBIUS CADE
Indie-Go-Go?.....It's now Indie-Gone-Gone!
Why on earth haven't Arcade Archives and all the other arcade game releasing companies made a digital distribution service on PC yet? They could probably even have a portal within Steam or something. That way, both casual laptop gamers and hardcore cabinet building enthusiasts cold easily play those games without all the hassle that comes with piracy and setting up MAME.
No thanks, what a rip off and not very nice looking.
i really don't get who this thing is for
People with more money than sense im guessing
Looks sweet.the version that is is like 4k. The new one is less.
People who don’t know about emulation and the single board computers are gonna get ripped off with this.
MLP The Extreme Home Arcades Megacade HQ is a much better value for this kind of thing.
Lol so for the price that these cost, especially the four player one, you could buy a powerful as hell laptop, run emulators on that, run an HDMI from it to your big tv in your room, then connect wired/wirelessly multiple arcade sticks for each player to the laptop.
You could do all that at even $1000 frankly much less $1500, or goddamn $6000 lol. So this is basically preying on people who don't know any better.
You know how I know all this? Cause my gf and I do it like every weekend almost with one of my laptops and our family room 60 inch and a couple of arcade sticks we have.
the wall mounted one is just atrocious and the 4 player one looks like a fridge
@5:05 lol
7
If your RasPi costs $70, make sure you pay $1500
Soulja boy tell em
Why do all these systems have the name Poly_____.? What's next? The Polyscam?
Thanks MLP.
Smart looking unit
Thats aight.... i'll wait for MLP to cover the SouljaBoy Edition
The Souljacade
I would honestly rather made my own arcade machine with a friend. That way, it is mine. It would feel personal. These premade arcade machine don't really make sense to me. It's already a niche product. If you want an arcade machine to play more than just one game, why not have one that is your own. And would probably be cheaper
If I remember right, at the time this was being a kickstarter, Arcade1up was just getting off the ground.
Now, the home arcade market is way more crowded, and this machine's main hook - it's "sleek, futuristic look" - isn't really enough on it's own. (Especially when it doesn't have the specs to back up it's appearance.)
(EDIT: and that was BEFORE I saw the price, good lord. You know you got a problem when AtGames can release a product of comparable quality at 1/4th of your asking price.)
I feel like you can make a steam/emulator cabinet yourself for way less
you said Atari............how long do we wait......
With that kind of money, I can build 3 gaming PC's.
Dang, prices are insane, im quite sure i could build a beast of an arcade machine for way less, basically just buy a decent pc slap it on a cheap cabinet or build it myself, use big box front end, hook it up with my roms and steam account boom polycade... This thing is kinda trying to be the apple brand of retro gaming lol
Because super rich people need space saving alternatives lol
Looks like a urinal
Don't know whether to play it or ....
And Polycade, great name for a parrot. Look I get the name, it's a bad name.
It has nothing to do with arcade.
Perhaps this is a nice device for a waiting room at the dentist.
And why am I blasting this? Because this gives retro games and thus retro gamers a bad name.
"We listened to retro gamers about what you like...NOTHING!!"
All we need is a "Featured on Shark Tank!" banner and Lars Ulrich to endorse the thing, and people will throw (even more) money at it. I do like seeing what people come up with, but it's vapid looking, and I *loved* Time Traveler back in the 90s. Arcade1Up does a better job, AtGames looks alright, but I'm sure with any passion project, you'll be happier than "picture... a blank canvas. 😍" I thought the whole point with arcade games, they came with personality - this "modern future" BS, or whatever you'd call it - is devoid, and says it's not much different than the dusty one in Steph Curry's third guest house. I'm not sure what demographic they're aiming for, but just seeing basic endorsements, you'd better get Billy Mays and Dr. Disrespect both to say why we need it.
I reckon one could make a good bartop for less than $200, and better fitting to the user's liking, than doing the Apple approach. I'm sure people stop and smile with the A1Ups, and finished cabs, but this seems counterintuitive to what most gamers would look for.
Looks to me too much like a kiosk, or yeah future urinal, and the buttons must be scented to match. 😂🤔 To me it's as if the designer started his blueprint, bagged off the rest of his time, and by deadline, turned in his homework late. There's nothing that makes ya want to walk up and try it, yes there's a joystick and buttons.. but maybe, if ya spend $3,000 on it, $2,799 is inside the husk in prepaid quarters YMMV. I'd rather find an old Sega or SNES kiosk I played on, and use that, than a hulking piece of fluff that can't hide gum, or get a good lean on. To me the screen is 4 inches from your arms, so I don't know how great 4K ultrabright LED might be on someone either, not to mention arm cramps and locked elbows. If it prints free metro cards, presses keys and dog tags, and can make a hot cup of coffee, then maybe I'd buckle.
@@willhe5564 Hahaha, I was laughing all through reading your comment. Well said brother, well said! So true
No I love that you honest
Yeah they are Shady and asking for your money but they want you to pay for the items aside from the donation.
the guys behind this are nolan bushnell's sons.
Damn dude lol. It would be cool to install fightcade 2 on that and play free online games lol.
Luda & Jimmy O. approved? I'm in! GTFO, haha
Cool video tech talk lol yes ok yep oh ok
I rather make my own, i think i got a raspberry pi 2 lying around here somewhere
So are these things legit or not?
Aight then.
lets see.kick starter.use peoples money to make product.they probably had to pay celebrities to use their pictures.inteady of spending money to make a good product.never my money.i will not back anything, specially when it looks like that.go sell your house and invest on your dream project, not going homeless will motivate you to make something good.
Old dell box for £70 8gm ram £40. Graphic card £70 . Coin ops 2 is free and boom better than this system already
Even if you shell your cash for a couple of arcade sticks, you'll still be better off than paying for this scam.
I’ve seen people build their own arcade machine. With A computer
Luda up in dis? Shiiiii I’m in!
the entire industry is scuzzy. These people use these platforms as a glorified preorder system, acting as though its some new idea that needs start up money to launch. This one is particularly bad as it seems like they just keep "launching" the same product, as way to get these people to overpay by playing on the notion of a time limited opportunity to get a deal by getting in on the ground floor. Nobody is paying that non-kickststarter price for this. I have seen behind the scenes into a kickstarter from months before launch and its a now its own, gross industry.
Sup bud!!
How many more of these crappy retro arcades do we need ?
1 + 1 = tree
I suspect it is a scam.
hahaha that quote from the 9 year old....absolutely a fake quote
This looks like a gimmicky cash grab, stay away from that garbage, you'd be better off buying the atgames legends arcade
I pity the fool.
Ugly, overpriced, and in a crowded market full of $200 home arcade cabinets. I can't see this thing selling very well. The person wanting to set up something like this probably already knows about retroarch and raspberry pi.
Scam Alert, SCAM ALERT!!
What's good
Totally reeks of red flags everywhere. Better save your hard-earned money and build a better PC.
🤔
You should sell you NT Mini Noir and buy a Polycade 😀
🤣
@@Madlittlepixel I am joking. From your first NT Mini review, you didn't seem too enthusiastic. After your jailbreak review, you seemed to be enjoying it. I missed out, but I do love my RGB AV Famicom with an Everdrive N8 Famicom edition. The three selectable color pallettes and the ability to use the Zapper via S- Video.
I really have to get the Analouge Duo. I've only played PC Engine via emulation due to the massive investment needed for multiplayer, better than RF video output, all those darn system cards for various cd games, recapping the CD rom units, etc. Oh, and if you must play the five Supergrafx exclusives......
@@jacobprayer8656 oh in all honesty, the jail break video was done just for content to show a how to and test a bit. The jailbreak adds virtually no value for me. I don't plan to play anything on it besides NES/Famicom games. I eventually will revert back to stock firmware most likely as I did with both the Super NT and Mega SG.
@@Madlittlepixel I didn't mean to imply that you liked it more due to the jailbreak itself. Moreover, that upon spending more time with the NT Mini, you were enjoying it.
I would love jailbreak firmware mainly due to not having an official way to play Game Gear games on a large television. There are various Sonic Collections that include Game Gear games, however the emulation is horrid.
I have the afformentioned RGB AV Famicom, Model 1 Genesis, ect. all connected to a CRT via S-Video. I can understand only wanting a specific console to play it's intended games.
Are you drooling in anticipation for the Analouge Duo as I am? I was lucky enough to get the Terra Onion Mega SD, I hope to be lucky oncemore.
LoL ! You clearly don't understand the game dude!
