Insurance back then 15pp quid was a lot of money. I paid 1200 under me mom as a named driver. 25 quid per week. When you could of got a mortgage for a 80k house then for a 100 per week. We didn't think.. Just enjoyed our cars and youth.

I owned a light blue one in South Africa. Loved it.
My mate had one of these in the early 90s in white. Had the three spoke steering wheel. Cool cars and great to see folk still enjoying them.

Pulled over for sure as the high insurance costs the old bill would be looking at you and betting hoping you weren't insured.

I new it wasn't a UK car because they didn't do that colour for UK cars. Which was a good choice to be honest.

had 1( same color in south africa)- 5 speed version-fitted a racing exhaust / restrictor etc - what a beauty-/cvh motor- miss it😢
