I read some years back that 6% of Cougars were standard shift. Been trying to buy the same car from my cousin for years. 351 Cleveland 4-speed but it’s sitting in the same spot in his yard for 20 yrs. I built a 68 XR7 with a built 428 Police Interceptor (solid roller, 598 lift) 4-speed… it was sick…
Summit racing sells seat tracks for older cars that are great for taller guys! Car has an awesome exh and interior sound for stock...impressive. ALways liked the Cougars, if I had the opp Id motor one as a daily.
Thats the only shade of green I'd have, so deep... gorgeous 👍💙👍 hood needs a bit of an adjustment to line up to the headlight trim..other than that I hope it's still there after I win the lottery🫣🥴🤙
Nice Cougar. That engine is a 351 Windsor block with 351 Cleveland heads. People call it a "Clever". Is not something Ford ever put in a production car. Be interested to know what the engine and trans codes are. Is nicely done. Interior does look like a survivor and correct, rest restored. WIthout documentation I'd be careful about calling low mileage. I'd recommend getting a Marti report if you want to know how original it is.
I have the twin to this car except mine is saddle interior...Found it rotting away in a prescott valley junkyard..Couldnt believe someone sent it there...by Fords numbers its one of two with the close ratio 4 speed and 3.50 traction lock....1 of 108 M code 351C 4v close ratio 4 speed cars...mercury did not like manuals in there cars..
Keep driving the crap out of it ,and it won't be worth a s++t. I liked the car before ya'll started slammin the gears, But not now. I'm sure someone else will buy it not knowing what I just saw ,but that's ok. There are other vehicles elsewhere.

@@scottmccaffery6069 Could be but on a car this old I pay 0 attention to the odometer. They could always ask dmv they can see prior owners mileage etc
You guys are always putting out the best Classic Cars on the internet!!! You know I love this one !!!
WOW, WOW, WOW‼️
I miss the Mercury division; my Dad had 2 of them when I was a kid and I loved them both 😍
This car does NOT need the rear wing or the chin spoiler.
I like the chin spoiler
I agree with you. I hate it when somebody ruins a nice original car and put something stupid on it.
I love Cougars & that color is killer!

Nicest one I've seen, tear in the seat & bubbles under the vinyl. My God that nice
That boy is bad🏁 I had a 1970 XR7 351 Cleveland White, Sun roof. The boy was so fast that nobody wanted to race me.👈😁🗽🥂💯
BEAUTIFUL green, looks a mile deep ❤

Love the Hurst T shifter
Beautiful car, don't spoil the lines with BS spoilers. Don't Mex it up!
Beautiful
Beautiful ride
Very nice... without the spoilers. I'd include them with the car, but don't drill holes in the body, not everyone likes them.
Chin spoiler yes
Very Cool!

The way that car was cared for , I'm sure it wasn't treated like you just did
Nice

Did you drill into that trunk to put that stupid spoiler on there? Please say no

I find it hard to believe that is a factory XR7 luxury coupe. More like a Cougar Eliminator.
Definitely do not go with the rear spoiler, it looks great the way it sits
I'd be at $28k
Paint restoration.😅 amazing what you can cover up with paint.
Steep price for an XR7
Headlight trim on passenger is not even.

Its not ruined from running up to 4k a few times, sure its been done before .
Doing it when engine is cold, not a fan of.
I don't know what the cost of shipping will be in about a year but when the next crypto bull run is done ...expect a call from Alberta Canada.
too high
