"That event in the bible was specific to certain time and place therfore ignore it" heavily paraphrased to emphasize the underlying point made. Why do people insistently try to do away with all the details in scripture. My understanding as a Christian is that in order to have everlasting life. You have to refuse the mark of the beast that means you have to know what the beast mark is and you have to know what God's Mark is and if you accept god's mark and you reject satan's mark. Then you will end up being with Jesus Christ for eternity. When I became a 7th day Adventist I really started to understand and time prophecy and what it is truly talking about and it made so much sense. I also do believe we are living in the last days of the world and the creation of it. If you watch a lot of news on the political parties and the roman Catholic church and how the roman Catholic church has really got there hand involved in the United. States of America and the Pope and he is bringing out things that he wants to have happened in the United States. I am seeing it a lot.
Remember what Jesus said about the work of the Holy Spirit in John 16:8-1 3 He will reproved the world of sin, and of righteousness and of judgement…; And verse 13, the Spirit of TRUTH will guide you into ALL TRUTH….”. When people sincerely seek truth the Holy Spirit guides them to truth. Unfortunately that’s not the case in a lot of these preachers, and the reason they have been led astray with all kinds of deception. These are things that make individuals to come to false doctrines. He was supposed to press you even on historicism. Maybe prophecy is not his area of specialization I understand, but accept the invite and debate with a person who has studied Biblical history, Biblical languages, church history and theology. KJV is only a preference. It was not used to say that it is a 100% match to the original manuscript. ADL doesn't mind going into the concordance for a clearer understanding of the Bible. I really like KJV though. 😅

I was talking about additions and subtractions done to it. 1 John 5:7 for example, faith of Jesus instead of faith in Jesus. I'm just going by Revelation 21:23. You can disagree if you don't think that's heaven or if heaven will require a sun to you. I view New Jerusalem as Heaven.
I don't agree that the Spirit is the seal. It says we are sealed "with" the spirit. In that way a lot of the points kind of failed. The law is called the seal in Isaiah 8:16&20, and specifically the sabbath as in the verses quoted. Trying to be politically correct and say that yes the spirit is the seal as well as the sabbath is where you open doors to lose the "debate".
So when he asked if the seal is something that people had in the past the simple answer is yes. Good law had always been around. (EGW puts it this way that the dealing is s settling into the truth. Sorry to use her quote) but notice the word truth... which is synonymous with the law of God.

KJV is only a preference. It was not used to say that it is a 100% match to the original manuscript. ADL doesn't mind going into the concordance for a clearer understanding of the Bible.

@@thatnicekid04 some books it is a great translation but it has many errors on top of the English being outdated. I was not talking about checking the meaning of words. I was talking about additions and subtractions done to it.
1 John 5:7 for example, faith of Jesus instead of faith in Jesus. Your way O Lord is in the sanctuary instead of, your way O Lord is holiness.
There is so much that is wrong there from how it was written and to the meaning of words which are foreign to us now.

I'm just going by Revelation 21:23. You can disagree if you don't think that's heaven or if heaven will require a sun to you. I view New Jerusalem as Heaven.

I don't agree that the Spirit is the seal. It says we are sealed "with" the spirit. In that way a lot of the points kind of failed. The law is called the seal in Isaiah 8:16&20, and specifically the sabbath as in the verses quoted. Trying to be politically correct and say that yes the spirit is the seal as well as the sabbath is where you open doors to lose the "debate".
So when he asked if the seal is something that people had in the past the simple answer is yes. Good law had always been around. (EGW puts it this way that the dealing is s settling into the truth. Sorry to use her quote) but notice the word truth... which is synonymous with the law of God.

As an ordained Deacon I know I have stated a fact. SDA most certainly DO refer to EGW and her writings as SOP-and the Spirit of Prophecy is Christ Jesus.
There is no wiggle room-this is a fact. So to refer to a human being as SOP or her writings as such would be a really bad idea.

The testimony of Jesus is connected with the word of God.
In Rev 22:9, the angel also connects the testimony of Jesus Christ in Rev 19:10 with the prophets, and the understanding and keeping of the sayings of the book of Revelation.

Yes, SDAs do recognize the gift of prophecy was manifested in the writings and ministry of Ellen White, and thus refer to her writings as the "Spirit of Prophecy" AS DEFINED BY THE BIBLE: a testimony of Jesus Christ. But until you can prove that Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Prophecy, or that the Holy Spirit is the spirit of prophecy mentioned in Rev 19:10, or that Jesus is the Holy Spirit, you cannot falsely accuse of SDA's referring to EGW as the Holy Spirit
Sitting on the throne is symbolic as well. Your idea of just assuming because it is something in the real world that it is not symbolic is problematic
In my experience the Adventist clings to Ellen White the way a Christian clings to Christ Jesus.
