I headcanon Kaito on a spectrum of seriousness. He can be goofy like when I have him beat up by Len despite being much bigger in size, while he can also be serious, like when I make him help Meiko with her drinking problems. It's sort of how I headcanon everyone.

The stuff about “what’s canon” is so annoying. Most of these characters are designed to be blank slates to be used any way you want. Even things like characters’ official ages don’t necessarily need to be taken as canon, they are literally just voice synthesizers at the end of the day. I mean if you wanted you could headcanon Miku as a 40 year old man, these characters were made for you to depict them any way you want.
I find it so weird that preteens and teens are so anti-piracy *when it comes to big corpo things like softwares or movies*, but at the same time they just yoink any and every song, cover, fanart, etc. for their tiktok shorts, they repost animatics without credits, like, hellooooo, what you're doing is also piracy and it's even more scummy than what you stand against...

Something that really annoys me about the current vocaloid fandom is how much gatekeeping there is. The amount of people complaining about 'new vocaloid fans' is insane. Yeah some new fans are really annoying, but they're also just being introduced to vocaloid. Of course they'd get stuff wrong. Just correct them politely and move on
I find it pretty hard to ship Vocaloids since they basically have zero personality unless you give them one lol. I don’t care about the ships either and I was surprised to find out they are a pretty big part of the fandom.

Vocaloid just happens to be (or used to be) the biggest Vocal synthesis Software with it's only posible rival (like 15 years ago) being the clunky Utau (The program Teto debuted in) so the entire fandom gets called "The Vocaloid Fandom" and everyone of these Characters get called "vocaloids" coloquially as a whole even if they aren't actually vocaloids which is now increasibly common with the rise of SynthV (Which also counts with it's own -now paid for- Teto bank), CeVio and other alternatives to vocaloid that surpass it in every way because Vocaloid 6 is still trying to catch up to them and Kind Of Failing Tbh. Their Vocaloid banks aren't discontinued and I could buy one officially if I wanted to, so they're both Vocaloids AND Piapro. It's almost like saying Yamine Renri isn't an UTAU anymore because she was updated to SynthV, and I'm not aware whether her UTAU has been updated recently but I'm certain it's still available for download as of June 2024

On the Fukase age headcanons thing I kind of get why people put him younger sometimes -- one thing to note is the ship Oliver × Fukase is VEEEERY popular so people like to put Fuka in Oliver's age range for ship reasons. It also doesn’t help that Fukase has _chronic babyface,_ of which has been intensifying as of late: for whatever reason, Mikuma//3kMA (Fuka's official illustrator) has been drawing him a bit younger looking in their more recent arts. I personally headcanon Fukase to be 17, but just god awful levels of short. He has never seen the top shelf in his entire life and that will likely never change.

Plus you're just making yourself appear delusional (unless the characters are voiced by children like Kaai Yuki, this may be reportable but still, it's better to block than harass otherwise you're just stooping to their level). - Ship wars and discourse. The Kagamine ship won't burn your house, and so does the Miku x Kaito ship so calm down and be civil to others. I myself feel uncomfortable around some content that I dislike, but what do I do? Scroll away, mute the ship name or block the account related to the content. Also harassment is a big no, you're just poisoning the fandom (and see the above). - People who always bring drama in the fandom. - Crappy MMD model rules (a Luka model had a rule that prohibits shipping her with men because she's only made for lesbian ships) - There's something that happened that annoyed me: so Masa works design has an old song that's lost media "Interface", when I found a video titled something like "Interface another footage found", I clicked on it, but it was some crappy meme, turns out it was only to clickbait the Masa fans because of the controversy surrounding Masa *(separate the creation from the creator or don't upload at all, jeez.)* Anyways, sorry if I sound too pessimistic. I'm 18 and a fan now, but I was never a fan when I was very young like a lot of people, I got into it about two years ago. Come to think of it I've have never heard of someone getting into Vocaloid as late as me.
One thing about Vocaloid fandom I wish is more common is that fans give credit to the producers of music, not just the voices . The producer worked hard to create the song, do not just say it was made by Miku, someone created it !

The "no old people" and "MMD passwords" parts are so true! Some things I hate about the current vocal synth fandom: 1. Elitism about AI. A lot of AI fans complain about standard fans being elitist over the old robot sound being better than the realistic sound of contemporary AI vocal synths, but I would argue that the AI fans who act elitist over the realistic sound being better than the robot sound are even worse. These people insist that basically every Vocaloid should have a SynthV version. 2. No respect to Utau voicebank devs. We put so much work into voicebanks and it all gets overlooked except by other Utau voicebank devs because it's just lowly Utau.

Being an older Vocaloid fan as well (it hits harder in the idol community), I do agree that funny Vocaloid is dead and replaced with deranged and/or depressed Vocaloid. You like a song that’s super cute and wholesome? Not a lot of fans. A song that’s about death and partying? Already on the list to be put into ProSekai and used as a dance meme on Tiktok.

I feel like we also get a lot of people taking the "canon" too seriously too. Like ok Miku's mascot is 16. That doesn't mean she is 16 in every. single. song. These are voice banks so they're basically like barbies you can play with and make up stories with. Of course she won't be 16 in every song that uses her voicebank. There's also so many different kinds of Vocaloid fans and we need to stop pretending that you need to know EVERYTHING in order to be a "real fan". I personally couldn't give less of a shit about Utauloids but I've still been in this fandom space since 2012. You're so right for this I've been a fan since 2020 and despite knowing alot about vocal synths Miku's my favorite because I love her voice the most out of the nearly hundreds of voices I've listened to, and I'm sure if she wasn't as popular as she is now or way more popular that wouldn't change💙
This one probably everyone knows, and it's mostly new fans who don't truly understand yet what a vocaloid actually is, but when they credit the songs as "Miku's songs", or "Gumi's songs", disregarding the real composer/producer of the music. There's videos of songs that just say "Hatsune miku - (song name)" and not even in the description you see the producer's name. And some comment says like "crazy that cosMo made this" and no one in the replies knew. I think wowaka, ryo and hachi made lyrics about this issue and is one of the reasons they stopped using vocaloid vocals, because they didn't get the credit, but Miku did It's much better now I think, now everyone knows who Deco*27, PinocchioP, etc are and which songs they made
What ever happen to ryo and supercell anyways. He deleted all his songs one day and disappeared. He pretty much made some of the most legendary songs to ever exist and pretty much made the songs that pushed vocaloid in the direction it went with songs like melt and love is war
I remember when KaiMiku and Negitoro shippers used to fight with each other. Now you can't ship Miku with anyone other than Rin (or Len) because of the age differences (even though those same vocaloids have extremely sexual songs and their ages change depending on how you look at them). Ran into someone a few days ago that didn't want people to ship Miku and Teto because Teto is 31. I explained the age joke to them but it was still funny seeing such a comment. Also the thing I hate the most is people not crediting producers but crediting the software or in pjs case, the in game band. Then they get mad when people ask them to credit producers.

I'm an older Vocaloid fan who entered the fandom around 2009/2010, but I've started calling most characters "Voice Synths", "Virtual Idols" or "Virtual Singers". There's so many new synths these days, and many characters are switching programs, so I thought that would be easier. But when I called Miku a Virtual Singer an older fan started bashing me, saying I sounded like an "uneducated Sekai fan". If you wanna continue calling them Vocaloids that's fine, but why do people gotta be so triggered when you're just using another correct term? Even Crypton calls them Virtual Singers now.
Idk, I enter around 2008/2009. Vocaloid just stuck with me. Always called the genre vocaloid. Even the new characters that are t crypton. Some of us old fans consider the whole genre as vocaloid as that’s what we’ve always called them. Voice synths just sounds weird to me and doesn’t roll of the tongue like vocaloid did

I personally hate it when people credit certain vocaloid songs to a person who made a popular cover of said song. Like an example would probably be like “Miss Wanna Die by Jubyphonic” or “My R by Rachie” or like “Therefore You and Me by Eve” when it comes to jp covers. Im not saying I blame specifically the cover artists for this and I do think some of the covers are genuine bops but like…come on guys this is just a slight variation of crediting the vocaloid instead of the producer for a song. Edit: I’m also not saying you shouldn’t credit the cover artists, Im just saying credit to the original producer along aside the cover artist.

I kinda wished pjsk implemented the old fandom's vocaloid headcanon over the new pjsk ones. Like it doesn't even have to be kaito always being a crackhead or something. He can still be this prince charming while still being a crackhead. This goes with len and rin with their odd association with road rollers and much more. I can understand how some of them are way too inappropriate to be added though a small hint in the dialouge or easter egg would have been nice.
the thing a lot of people don't seem to get about the cryptonloids in project sekai is that they're not meant to be the "canon" characters, but rather alternate versions of them. the miku in project sekai that looks like the miku on the voice banks' box art has basically no personality. the other mikus have personality because they're "miku" in the same way a specific song's miku is "miku". and some of them do have elements of popular headcanons! it's a pretty minor thing, but vivid bad squad's meiko mentions alcohol a few times and their kaito likes ice cream, for example. rin and len's relationship differs between the sekais, too: in my opinion leo/need's kagamines act like classmates/close friends/siblings, more more jump's kagamines act like friends/coworkers, vivid bad squad's kagamines act like siblings/singing partners, etc. the vocaloids' ages aren't mentioned (except, i believe, in one very early card story, and even then it's not 100% confirmed). btw this comment isn't meant to be a rebuttal against you in any way i'm just rambling lol

I don't know how much of a hot take this is, but I'm so tired of people who claim that project sekai "ruined vocaloid" and talk about it like it's the worst thing to ever exist and about how everyone who likes it is somehow a horrible person just because the person talking about how allegedly bad the project sekai fandom is hasn't left the house in months and spends every free moment on social media. Probably a little harsh there, but I've literally never seen any of the bs some of these people talk about in my entire time in the project sekai community. Although I do tend to stick to only this one discord that's mostly chill, as well as my irl friends who also play the game. So maybe my constant avoidance of Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok has resulted in me not running into this side of the community. But I've honestly seen more people complaining about how horrible the ENTIRE community is than I have seen the people they're complaining about
A personal pet peeve of mine is when people try and claim a certain vocaloid ship is proship when no vocaloid has a canon age and barely any have canon relationships to each other
These newer fans are really annoying when it comes to songs featuring adult conent, they're literally acting like it's the end of the world because a silly vocal synth is talking about how big their slong is Or they cry about 1 song and denounce it, then praise another song with the exact same meaning (Rabbit Hole and Vampire)
About the whole notion of the ‘fun’ era of the Vocaloid fandom ending… I think this is kind of in alignment of how the content of Vocaloid changed over time. Looking back at when Vocaloid began, there were songs that were written more as a story or as a funny gag, but nowadays you don’t see as much of them. Conversely, we got more emotional and relatable songs coming from producers, which paint the characters in a more serious than funny light. The chain effect is that because we as a fandom love those songs, it changes our perception of the characters, so seeing them as funny goofy characters doesn’t come naturally, especially for the newer fans. (Best case example is me; I came into the fandom in 2020 and never understood the comedic appeal of older MMD videos, which would make sense since I didn’t grow up with them)
My main gripe has to do with pitching and how the fandom treats it. 1). I miss pitchloids/fanloids so much. You’re telling me no one has Frankensteined a Miku NT voicebank to make a cover with Yowane Haku? Where are my funny non-official Vocaloids?? So nobody has tried gender bending their favorite SynthV? (Besides Andi Arcane). I guess they’re considered too childish and cringe now to even be considered for the modern fandom. 2). The other side of the coin is taking more obscure mature voicebanks like Sachiko and Mew and completely pitching them way too high. Saying they ‘fixed’ the voice bank and how ‘they finally sound like girls now.’ There are so many soprano voicebanks out there, pick one of those instead of you really don’t like a deeper voicebank. Even Asterian (SynthV) gets it pretty bad with producers not knowing how to use his voice range.

It seems like every fandom now has kids who will harass you because you’re not adhering to their personal headcanons. Not to sound like a boomer but I was around for the beginning of vocaloid’s popularity on the western side of the internet in the late 2000s and people loved to make songs about dark or taboo topics. I hate when people think that pjdv good and pjsk bad or pjsk good and pjdv bad, like COME ON!!! Project Sekai did NOT ruin Vocaloid. In fact, it is getting you into Vocaloid because the humans in the game are your biggest attractions, which made you discover the Cryptonloids (which are supposed to the the main attractions in the game), Gumi, Flower, etc. Project Diva is the same thing, but no humans and just the Cryptonloids, and it is an extra topping to your Vocaloid loving pie that you're baking.

As an old person myself, (late 90's bby), I just watch whoever I want to watch and listen to whoever I want too. Delete tiktok, don't interact with people on twitter (unless it's oomfs), don't interact with anyone that is not your fellow nerd. I'm a Vocaloid fan since 2007 to the point of having a small stand with Miku figures, ZhouSensor DIVA pro controller for Project DIVA, and a physical music collection. The stuff about “what’s canon” is so annoying. Most of these characters are designed to be blank slates to be used any way you want. Even things like characters’ official ages don’t necessarily need to be taken as canon, they are literally just voice synthesizers at the end of the day. I mean if you wanted you could headcanon Miku as a 40 year old man, these characters were made for you to depict them any way you want.

Adding onto this, My pet peeve in regards to MMD content is when people take down their download links because they werent credited for it in videos. Before I get jumped, Let me just stress that I get why it happens. It just kinda bugs me that because some people didnt credit them, Everyone has to suffer. Though a close second would be the deviantart accounts that ask you to leave a comment that you downloaded the model or motion data.
Something that really annoys me about the current vocaloid fandom is how much gatekeeping there is. The amount of people complaining about 'new vocaloid fans' is insane. Yeah some new fans are really annoying, but they're also just being introduced to vocaloid. Of course they'd get stuff wrong. Just correct them politely and move on

On the Fukase age headcanons thing
I kind of get why people put him younger sometimes -- one thing to note is the ship Oliver × Fukase is VEEEERY popular so people like to put Fuka in Oliver's age range for ship reasons.
It also doesn’t help that Fukase has _chronic babyface,_ of which has been intensifying as of late: for whatever reason, Mikuma//3kMA (Fuka's official illustrator) has been drawing him a bit younger looking in their more recent arts.
I personally headcanon Fukase to be 17, but just god awful levels of short. He has never seen the top shelf in his entire life and that will likely never change.

*Things I hate in the Vocaloid fandom:*
- The puritans who think Rabbit Hole is the worst thing that's ever existed.
- The FNF fans, I just stay away from them.
- People who force their headcanons onto others (especially gender and pronouns)
- "Those" Project Sekai fans.
- The new fans vs old fans war (let's all live in harmony, please).
- People who take characters too seriously: I saw people sending means threats and accusing someone of p-dophilia just for simping over Ruko, a 6 foot tall character who wears a visible thong, has a gambling addiction and drinks coffee who happens to be "12 years old". The creator themself confirmed that the age is a joke and shouldn't be taken seriously, but those people's excuses? "I was tall as a 12 year old, plus there are 12 year olds who gamble and wear such clothes". Seriously, don't bring real life laws into stuff like these, you won't get arrested over it. Plus you're just making yourself appear delusional (unless the characters are voiced by children like Kaai Yuki, this may be reportable but still, it's better to block than harass otherwise you're just stooping to their level).
- Ship wars and discourse. The Kagamine ship won't burn your house, and so does the Miku x Kaito ship so calm down and be civil to others. I myself feel uncomfortable around some content that I dislike, but what do I do? Scroll away, mute the ship name or block the account related to the content. Also harassment is a big no, you're just poisoning the fandom (and see the above).
- People who always bring drama in the fandom.
- Crappy MMD model rules (a Luka model had a rule that prohibits shipping her with men because she's only made for lesbian ships)
- There's something that happened that annoyed me: so Masa works design has an old song that's lost media "Interface", when I found a video titled something like "Interface another footage found", I clicked on it, but it was some crappy meme, turns out it was only to clickbait the Masa fans because of the controversy surrounding Masa *(separate the creation from the creator or don't upload at all, jeez.)*
Anyways, sorry if I sound too pessimistic. I just chill with the fandom and block toxic people.

My favorite thing about Vocaloid is that they're a blank slate. I used to write fan fiction all the time when I was younger , and if I were to post now, people would be upset by the things I made Miku say.

Some things I hate about the current vocal synth fandom:
1. Elitism about AI. A lot of AI fans complain about standard fans being elitist over the old robot sound being better than the realistic sound of contemporary AI vocal synths, but I would argue that the AI fans who act elitist over the realistic sound being better than the robot sound are even worse. These people insist that basically every Vocaloid should have a SynthV version.
2. No respect to Utau voicebank devs. We put so much work into voicebanks and it all gets overlooked except by other Utau voicebank devs because it's just lowly Utau.

Being an older Vocaloid fan as well (it hits harder in the idol community), I do agree that funny Vocaloid is dead and replaced with deranged and/or depressed Vocaloid. You like a song that’s super cute and wholesome? Not a lot of fans. A song that’s about death and partying? Already on the list to be put into ProSekai and used as a dance meme on Tiktok.
I’m gonna list some things I hate too
1. Some pjsekai fans tend to spread a lot of misinformation and not even try to inform themselves, like claiming Miku is from the game and that songs like Remote control is from the game.
2. THE WHOLE RABBIT HOLE SITUATION. NEED I SAY MORE??
3. Not 100% sure if this has happened but I’ve heard it mentioned, new fans sending death threats to creators for making dark songs.
4. How hateful the fandom has become, maybe I was just too young to notice before but I feel like ever since late 2020-now everyone has become so toxic. It’s like all the bad things we heard about for example the genshin and dmsp fandom is getting fkn bluetoothed over to us.
5. The ship culture, people will kill you for liking “the wrong one” and use the p*do card on anything related to Miku cause “she’s 16”.
6. The slow disappearance of the crazy Len stans, watching their madness was fkn hilarious. I mean it’s probably a good thing but people are getting serious now and I never see the absolute abominations people created before.
7. THE WAY PJSEKAI ABSOLUTELY BUTCHERED EVERY VOICEBANK IN THEIR COVERS I HATE IT SO MUCH I QUIT THE GAME. IT GIVES PEOPLE HORRIBLE IMPRESSIONS OF THEM.
8. The fkn elitism seen in pjsk with the people playing the Japanese version acting like they rule the world, being super rude and gatekeeping towards other players.
9. People going crazy about songs with sensitive topics like it doesn’t exist in every other genre and it’s not the creators responsibility to please you.

This one probably everyone knows, and it's mostly new fans who don't truly understand yet what a vocaloid actually is, but when they credit the songs as "Miku's songs", or "Gumi's songs", disregarding the real composer/producer of the music. There's videos of songs that just say "Hatsune miku - (song name)" and not even in the description you see the producer's name. And some comment says like "crazy that cosMo made this" and no one in the replies knew. I think wowaka, ryo and hachi made lyrics about this issue and is one of the reasons they stopped using vocaloid vocals, because they didn't get the credit, but Miku did

What ever happen to ryo and supercell anyways. He deleted all his songs one day and disappeared. He pretty much made some of the most legendary songs to ever exist and pretty much made the songs that pushed vocaloid in the direction it went with songs like melt and love is war

Now you can't ship Miku with anyone other than Rin (or Len) because of the age differences (even though those same vocaloids have extremely sexual songs and their ages change depending on how you look at them). My biggest pet peeve with most people in the new fandom is that...
they don't love Vocaloid
Not because they can't recite the whole vocaloid wiki, but because they actually don't even listen to the Vocaloid versions which speaks for itself. They don't have that feeling we have towards the voice and singing of vocaloids
Specially cause a lot of the "virtual singer versions" are watered down tuning-wise to appease these people
And even when they do, they don't care enough to go look at the lyrics or the meaning even _once_
As if the song hasn't fascinated them
or listen to more vocaloid covers of the same song and be excited about what that sounds like (do they even know that's a thing?)
Not that these are requirements or that there's a checklist, but it's just obvious that for the majority of these people the whole project sekai and "virtual singer" thing is just another one of their temporary gacha games that they'll have forgotten most things about in 4 years
I guess it's fine for them to enjoy the content in that way, but that is not a vocaloid fan, and that is not how I as someone who has truly loved Vocaloids wants to be represented to the public if this gets more popular
But I do rejoice in the fact that the new game had our good old producers be commissioned and made way for some actual new vocaloid fans :D

I'm an older Vocaloid fan who entered the fandom around 2009/2010, but I've started calling most characters "Voice Synths", "Virtual Idols" or "Virtual Singers". There's so many new synths these days, and many characters are switching programs, so I thought that would be easier. But when I called Miku a Virtual Singer an older fan started bashing me, saying I sounded like an "uneducated Sekai fan".
If you wanna continue calling them Vocaloids that's fine, but why do people gotta be so triggered when you're just using another correct term? Even Crypton calls them Virtual Singers now.
Idk, I enter around 2008/2009. Vocaloid just stuck with me. Always called the genre vocaloid. Even the new characters that are t crypton. Some of us old fans consider the whole genre as vocaloid as that’s what we’ve always called them. Voice synths just sounds weird to me and doesn’t roll of the tongue like vocaloid did

I personally hate it when people credit certain vocaloid songs to a person who made a popular cover of said song. Like an example would probably be like “Miss Wanna Die by Jubyphonic” or “My R by Rachie” or like “Therefore You and Me by Eve” when it comes to jp covers.
Im not saying I blame specifically the cover artists for this and I do think some of the covers are genuine bops but like…come on guys this is just a slight variation of crediting the vocaloid instead of the producer for a song.
Edit: I’m also not saying you shouldn’t credit the cover artists, Im just saying credit to the original producer along aside the cover artist.

I kinda wished pjsk implemented the old fandom's vocaloid headcanon over the new pjsk ones. Like it doesn't even have to be kaito always being a crackhead or something. He can still be this prince charming while still being a crackhead. This goes with len and rin with their odd association with road rollers and much more. I can understand how some of them are way too inappropriate to be added though a small hint in the dialouge or easter egg would have been nice.
the thing a lot of people don't seem to get about the cryptonloids in project sekai is that they're not meant to be the "canon" characters, but rather alternate versions of them. the miku in project sekai that looks like the miku on the voice banks' box art has basically no personality. the other mikus have personality because they're "miku" in the same way a specific song's miku is "miku". and some of them do have elements of popular headcanons! it's a pretty minor thing, but vivid bad squad's meiko mentions alcohol a few times and their kaito likes ice cream, for example. rin and len's relationship differs between the sekais, too: in my opinion leo/need's kagamines act like classmates/close friends/siblings, more more jump's kagamines act like friends/coworkers, vivid bad squad's kagamines act like siblings/singing partners, etc. the vocaloids' ages aren't mentioned (except, i believe, in one very early card story, and even then it's not 100% confirmed). btw this comment isn't meant to be a rebuttal against you in any way i'm just rambling lol

3:55 I know that in some cases (usually nnd downloads) the riddles are kinda designed to keep non japanese-speakers from downloading since we have a reputation for breaking model/motion rules and not crediting properly
I don't know how much of a hot take this is, but I'm so tired of people who claim that project sekai "ruined vocaloid" and talk about it like it's the worst thing to ever exist and about how everyone who likes it is somehow a horrible person just because the person talking about how allegedly bad the project sekai fandom is hasn't left the house in months and spends every free moment on social media.
Probably a little harsh there, but I've literally never seen any of the bs some of these people talk about in my entire time in the project sekai community. Although I do tend to stick to only this one discord that's mostly chill, as well as my irl friends who also play the game. So maybe my constant avoidance of Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok has resulted in me not running into this side of the community. But I've honestly seen more people complaining about how horrible the ENTIRE community is than I have seen the people they're complaining about

About the whole notion of the ‘fun’ era of the Vocaloid fandom ending… I think this is kind of in alignment of how the content of Vocaloid changed over time. Looking back at when Vocaloid began, there were songs that were written more as a story or as a funny gag, but nowadays you don’t see as much of them. Conversely, we got more emotional and relatable songs coming from producers, which paint the characters in a more serious than funny light. The chain effect is that because we as a fandom love those songs, it changes our perception of the characters, so seeing them as funny goofy characters doesn’t come naturally, especially for the newer fans. (Best case example is me; I came into the fandom in 2020 and never understood the comedic appeal of older MMD videos, which would make sense since I didn’t grow up with them)
I miss the MMD era, that was a big part of how i know internet 😢
My main gripe has to do with pitching and how the fandom treats it.
1). I miss pitchloids/fanloids so much. You’re telling me no one has Frankensteined a Miku NT voicebank to make a cover with Yowane Haku? Where are my funny non-official Vocaloids?? So nobody has tried gender bending their favorite SynthV? (Besides Andi Arcane). I guess they’re considered too childish and cringe now to even be considered for the modern fandom.
2). The other side of the coin is taking more obscure mature voicebanks like Sachiko and Mew and completely pitching them way too high. Saying they ‘fixed’ the voice bank and how ‘they finally sound like girls now.’ There are so many soprano voicebanks out there, pick one of those instead of you really don’t like a deeper voicebank. Even Asterian (SynthV) gets it pretty bad with producers not knowing how to use his voice range.

In fact, it is getting you into Vocaloid because the humans in the game are your biggest attractions, which made you discover the Cryptonloids (which are supposed to the the main attractions in the game), Gumi, Flower, etc. Project Diva is the same thing, but no humans and just the Cryptonloids, and it is an extra topping to your Vocaloid loving pie that you're baking.
What I HATE in the vocaloid fandom is when they're calling you slurs or ANYTHING like that if you don't ship what they ship. Like I get it, you want me to kms because I don't normally ship instruments.
These kids are too young to even know miku x luka was a thing when magnet came out long before they even knew what vocaloid was lol
I hate the fact that the current fandom simply only cares about the project sekai and doesn't give ANY visibility to Vocaloids other than Cryptonloids...

SO TRUE, like I'm glad to hear new songs coming out bc of this game(plus pj sekai encouraged me to return to vocaloid fandom), but I also hate seeing keyboard wars regarding canonicity of LITERAL SINGING ROBOTS like:
"You cannot ship Mikuluka, but Miku is 16 and Luka is an adult🤓🤓🤓🤓"
That's just an example tho, I'm not talking only about ships, it can also be said to ages, personalities, etc.
There are other things I dislike about pjsekai fandom, but this thing pissed me out the most

It's not just the vocaloid fandom that's getting like this but MANY others that relate to anything weeb/anime/games/etc. It's just getting worse with the internet being more accessible.
I'm a Vocaloid fan since 2007 to the point of having a small stand with Miku figures, ZhouSensor DIVA pro controller for Project DIVA, and a physical music collection.
Never interacted with the fanbase. Never even heard about those shippings and relatives stuff before this video.

I think one thing that bothers me alot is fandom culture aside, vocaloid is an instrument and there isnt one "sound" associated with vocaloid. I will say i have heard alot of unique sounds and experimentation outside of regular genres belonging to Vocaloid, but i get a lil peeved when people find producers who make more alternative songs and go HOLY SHIT THIS IS SO MESSED UP AND SCARY I CANT BELIEVE ITS MIKU AHH AHH. I feel like having that mindset limits the appreciation you might have for the fandom culture and for the art that comes out of it. This also applies to more adult songs and unfortunately it's due to the newer fans that don't understand the community, tiktok users and pjsk that only care about songs in pjsk.

I prefer the older sound of vocaloid. That was what gave it its charm. V2 miku will always be my favorite of all time
Personally, I don’t like to be very active in the fandom because there’s too much drama sometimes, I just like listening to the damn songs in my free time, I don’t have to know every song, vocaloid, etc.
Sometimes, life's so much better when you're a fan of something and don't interact or go that deep into the fandom
